Mais oui, Paris!

did I catch you off guard? Do you possibly think I am scrapping about a romantic adventure to Paris? I wish. One Day…. My dream will come true. Until then, I have created a little mini album that reminds me of a Paris tone. (Of course thanks to Graphic 45 paper)

As we are winding down our fun time with Graphic 45 products, I have one last project that I would love to share with you. A Mini Album!!! The base for the mini album is from Basically Bare.

As you will see on a closeup of the front cover. I did a little bit of manipulating paper. I only put the adhesive specifically where I knew the “ribbon” was going to touch the album. I did not adhere the other parts because I wanted them to create the ribbon effect and if there was adhesive everywhere I would not have been able to achieve that. The Crafty Power Tape was my best friend when I wanted to put down the metal. And I did use a lot to make sure it would be strong.

I find it absolutely ESSENTIAL to create drama on a layout page. This is so easily achieved with 3D foam squares. It gives a little separation on the page. Also, as you will see on the following photo, I have 2 stick pins coming out of the heart. I was able to secure them by stabbing them directly into the foam of the foam square. They will not slide out. Stuck and stuck. lol.

I know I’ve spoken about it many times, but a scrapper seriously cannot live without Adhesive Sheets. They come in handy everywhere! I wanted a pretty durable mini album so it was easy to stick one page of the mini album to the adhesive sheets and then place the pp down and press down in all areas to make sure it is evenly covered. The adhesive sheets also allow for you to put adhesive on very intricate pieces such as on the following photo. I have taken step by step photos of how I use the sheets for you. Please excuse the lighting, I took them at night (as I create ALL my artwork when the kids are in bed. SO the pics were all too yellowy, so I took the hue out a bit.)

Step 1: First I start by placing the strips I want adhesive on, onto the white side of the paper. (the yellow part is NOT sticky)

Step 2: Lay the yellow protective part back OVER your papers that are stuck to the adhesive. (I never entirely remove this sheet UNLESS I am sticking down a 12×12)

Step 3: Rub my hands gently but firmly all over the area I am trying to adhere. I do this so I can get a pretty even coverage of adhesive.

optional: the best part is, the papers (now stickers) can remain on the white sheet until you need to use them Just keep the yellow over top so that you don’t get the unused adhesive all over.  (I may or may not have stuck it to my arm a few times…lol)

Step 4: When you need it, carefully pull it off. It will be VERY tacky. See the even coverage? PERFECT!

Here is a prime example of when I’ve used the Adhesive sheets.Photobucket

Thanks for checking out my little album. Would you like to see more pages in this album? Please go here to see my blog post at Basically Bare’s blog.

Have a fabulous day! Sometimes it is just plain ol’ fun to create based on a dream, a wish. I’m all ready now for a future trip. :)
