Hello everyone! Donna Salazar here with a quick photo tutorial for you. Today I’m using the denim panels from my Pennant Set with my Jumbo Rose die to make a cute little hanging flower with fancy Pigment Powder stamens.
For each flower I die cut 2 of the smaller roses on the Jumbo Rose die. I cut the panel in half and laid it over the smaller rose and leaf then die cut the denim (I saved the leaves for another project).
I dipped a cotton swab in my Girlie Grunge Art Medium then smoothed it out by twirling it while lightly touching it to my finger. I then dipped the wet tip into my Pigment Powder Brown and used a clean finger to twirl and smooth the Pigment Powder which makes the powder look more metallic and shiny. I cut it in half and folded some premade flower stamens in half.
I used my Girlie Grunge Tissue Tape Ash and Oak (in Ash) to wrap the stamens and the swab together.
I used the E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser (my new favorite runner) to add adhesive around the center of one of the roses.
I adhered the two rose die cuts together with the petals off set.
I put the wrapped stamen through the center of the flower with the light color on the inside then wrapped the base of the flower with my Girlie Grunge Tissue Tape Denim and Floral (in denim).
I wanted to make sure that the flower would stay together so I wrapped the end with Girlie Grunge Twine.
I used kraft card stock for the base of the card and folded it with a little extra on the back. I use the E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser along the inside of the card and adhered a piece of the loopy lace from my Lace Ribbons pack. I painted over the top of the lace as well as the right edge of the card with Girlie Grunge Art Medium then, while the medium was still wet, I used a fluffy paintbrush to brush on my Pigment Powder Gold.
This is a close up of the fancy stamens as well as the little loopy Girlie Grunge Twine embellishment that I added in a few spots on the card. To make the loopy embellishment I wrapped the Girlie Grunge Twine around a couple fingers then dipped one end in my Girlie Grunge Art Medium and twisted. I let it dry and the end became stiff which made it easy to tuck under the flowers.
This is a close up of the Pigment Powder Gold on the edge of the card as well as a peek at another of the loopy twine embellishments.
Under the flowers is a stamped and die cut embellishment made with my Flower Bouquet stamp and die set. I made a watercolor stamped image with Mix’d Media Inx then dried it. I then stamped over the same image with watermark ink then sprinkled a mixture of clear embossing powder mixed with my Pigment Powder Gold (2 parts embossing powder to 1 part Pigment Powder). I returned the excess to the container then heat set. I also added the butterflies made with my Cascading Butterflies die with Girlie Grunge Art Medium and the title with 3D Foam Squares – White, Small.
This is another close up of the fancy flower stamens. I also added a die cut flower that I made with my Bitty Blossoms and Big Blossom dies and my Dodz™ XL. I used Dodz™ 3D to adhere the little folded Carnation Creations flowers that are tucked under the denim.
