Hi Everyone!\u00a0 It’s Kelly Klapstein<\/a> here to celebrate my kids returning to school!\u00a0 YAY! Ok, I admit we had a wonderful summer, and I love the relaxing schedule, but sometimes routines (and early bedtimes) are a good thing.<\/p>\n

Here is a card\u00a0I made for a teacher:<\/p>\n

I wanted to create a vintage “old school” design with a bulletin board and thumbtack note. So I used 3D Foam Frames<\/a>, 3D Foam Stars <\/a>and Dodz Adhesive Dots in Small, Medium and 3D<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I adhered the first layer of paper to my card with Dodz Adhesive Dtos 3D<\/a>. This gives that layer subtle dimension without the bulk.<\/p>\n

Then I designed the bulletin board with cork paper and a 3D Foam Frame<\/a>, which I embossed with copper embossing powder, so it looks like a metal frame around the cork board.<\/p>\n

After heating the 3D Foam Frame<\/a> to set the embossing powder, I cut out the cork board and stuck it onto my card base.<\/p>\n

After stamping a “Welcome Back” note onto a small piece of paper, I adhered it to the cork board with Dodz\u2122 Medium<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To create the vintage metal thumbtack, I placed a Small Dodz\u2122<\/a> on the note, added copper embossing powder and heat set it.\u00a0 I love this effect!<\/p>\n

Did you know that Adhesive Dots<\/a> can be used as an embellishment? This adhesive can be heat embossed!<\/p>\n

I finished off the cork board with a few glittered 3D Foam Stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sometimes old school can be cool…at least that’s what I tell my kids!<\/p>\n

She currently writes regular feature articles and designs for a scrapbooking magazine. Along with writing, Kelly is passionate about teaching.
