Hello crafty friends! It\u2019s Judy here today to show you how I turned an inexpensive composition notebook cover into a Fall\u00a0Grateful Journal. I\u00a0was inspired by some dried leaves that\u00a0I found pressed in the pages of an old phone book. Of course, I couldn\u2019t throw them away!\u00a0\u00a0Creative inspiration kicked in! LOL!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the how-to:<\/p>\n

Start with a simple composition notebook.\u00a0 I keep several on hand as I buy them at this time of the year (aka back to school supplies sales!). I added patterned paper, cardstock, Art Medium, Adhesive Sheets 12 x 12\u02ba<\/a>, Washi Tape, Twine and Thin 3D Foam Squares Mix Black<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Apply Art Medium to both sides of the leaves and let them dry.<\/p>\n

\"judy_hayes_grateful_journal-3\"<\/p>\n

Next apply Adhesive Sheets 12 x 12\u02ba<\/a>\u00a0to back of patterned paper that was cut to fit notebook cover.<\/p>\n

\"judy_hayes_grateful_journal-4\"<\/p>\n

Fasten\u00a0the patterned paper over the cover and trim the corners to match notebook.\u00a0 Do the same for the back cover only.<\/p>\n

Add wood look Washi Tape along the spine.<\/p>\n

Rub\u00a0various inks into the pattern paper. Stamp script along the edges.<\/p>\n

Arrange leaves on the cover.\u00a0\u00a0Then apply Art Medium to back of each one and press them in place. Brush a light coat over the top of the leaves as well.<\/p>\n

Stamp\u00a0\u201cgrateful\u201d on ivory cardstock. Free hand trim around it.\u00a0Rub inks over it. To fasten to the journal,\u00a0use Thin 3D Foam Squares Mix Black<\/a>.\u00a0 Place\u00a0them next to each other to cover most of the back side.\u00a0 Fasten to journal.<\/p>\n

Brush thin coat of the Art Medium over it to seal it.<\/p>\n

Ink\u00a0some tan Twine and dry it.\u00a0Tie it around the cover near the spine.<\/p>\n

The leaves are incredibly flexible from the Art Medium. They feel almost like oiled leather. It will be so inspiring to write in this journal come October!<\/p>\n
