Greetings!\u00a0 Shellye McDaniel<\/a> here today to share a fun new idea on sending snail mail with an Embroidery Hoop Mail Pocket<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let’s Get This Hoop Started!<\/h2>\n

To begin, you will need a\u00a0 9″ bamboo embroidery hoop and some of your favorite double-sided scrapbook paper.\u00a0 From Scrapbook Adhesives you will use:\u00a0Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1\/8 inch<\/a>, Dual Tip Glue Pen<\/a>, Adhesive Dots Large\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>and 3D Foam Circles White Mix<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first step is to add a panel of paper to the back of the hoop.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You will need to separate the hoops. Trace the outer edge of the inner hoop onto patterned paper and cut out.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Use the Dual Tip Glue Pen<\/strong><\/a> to add glue around the rim of the hoop.\u00a0 Next, attach the circle of patterned paper.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

To construct the pocket, trace the outside edge of the larger hoop onto patterned paper.\u00a0 You will only need a half-circle, so keep that in mind when tracing.\u00a0 Cut the paper and leave approximately 1\/4″ margin.\u00a0 Next, make cuts from the margin’s edge to the trace mark to create pleats (as shown above).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For the pocket, you will want a high tack adhesive: Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1\/4 inch.\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>Apply the adhesive around the outer edge.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now that the pocket has been added, reattach the outer hoop and secure in place with the tension knob.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Let’s Decorate!<\/h2>\n

4 X 6 Journal Cards make perfect mini pockets!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First, you will need to score the two sides and bottom of the card 1\/4″ from the edge.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next, fold along the score lines and apply a strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1\/4 inch<\/strong> to the folds.\u00a0 Attach to the center of the larger pocket.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I am not a “flat sticker” kind of girl, so I almost always use 3D Foam Circles or Squares<\/strong> <\/a>to give them dimension!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For the button application, I used the Adhesive Dots Large<\/strong><\/a> or whatever size you need depending on the button size.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When decorating the vintage button cards, I also used 3D Foam Adhesive and Adhesive Dots:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Larger tags and mini envelopes were stuffed into the larger pocket.\u00a0 Add ribbons, bows and other ephemera pieces that your snail mail recipient will love!<\/p>\n
