Few things are more enjoyable or satisfying in the scrapbook layout process than creating your own background.\u00a0 Especially when you get to use your adhesive in unexpected ways!\u00a0 Join me today as I walk you thru how to create a background using the E-Z Runner\u00ae Grand Dispenser with the E-Z Runner\u00ae Repositionable Dots Refill<\/a>. First up let’s take a look at the layout!<\/p>\n

Lightly embellished and not a lot of patterned paper are not things that you typically see on layouts that I create.\u00a0 I tend to go big on both of those – but in this case, I think the background needs to take center stage!\u00a0 Let’s take a look up close<\/p>\n

To make this background I used the E-Z Runner\u00ae Grand Repositionable Dots<\/a> and rolled it all over the inside of my heart. Next I wiped Distress Oxides all over the top of it. After drying the ink, I took a dry wash cloth and wiped off all of the adhesive. That’s right, wiped off ALL the adhesive! It comes up easily with the rub of a finger, but since I had a large area I used the washcloth. The adhesive acts as a mask or a resist, and when rubbed off, creates a dot pattern.
