Hello!\u00a0 It’s Judy here today with a fun textured DAD card for Father’s Day. There’s still time to make one, keep reading to follow my tutorial! I really like how easy it is to make metallic letters with 3D Foam Creative Sheets<\/a> and Metallic Transfer Sheets Variety Colors.<\/a> The look of wood behind the letters is real wood too…a wooden craft stick<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

Using Real Wood<\/h2>\n

Start with a 4 x 6.5-inch card using off white cardstock. Cut patterned paper 4 x 6.5-inch to fit the card front. Apply E-Z Runner\u00ae Petite Permanent Dots Refillable<\/a> adhesive to the back of the patterned paper and\u00a0fasten it to card front.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Use permanent quick drying ink to color the craft stick. Trim the craft stick to 6.5 inches. I use my heavy duty guillotine paper cutter and sand the ends smooth.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Creating DAD with Foil<\/h2>\n

First, die cut letters for DAD from black 3D Foam Creative Sheets<\/a>. Save the scraps of 3D Foam Creative Sheets<\/a> for a later step. The sheets come as Mixed Black and White<\/a>, 2 sheets of White<\/a>, or 2 sheets of Black<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Carefully peel the back side liner from one end of a letter and fold it back. Align and adhere the exposed adhesive to the craft stick and then remove the liner completely to finish adhering your letter in place. Repeat to fasten all your letters.<\/p>\n

Tip:\u00a0 You may want to wait until letters are applied to the stick before trimming it to size. That way you can cut it so letters are centered.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now remove the top liner from one letter. Place blue Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet<\/a> over the letter and rub well. Remove foil and reapply if necessary, and then repeat for all letters.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Assembling the Father’s Day Card<\/h2>\n

Cut a piece of black cardstock 1.25 x 6.5 inches. Apply Premium Double-Sided Tape \u00bcin<\/a> along both long edges. Next place blue Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet<\/a>, colored side up,\u00a0over one edge, press firmly to transfer foil color and then lift off foil sheet. Repeat on other edge. Trim to remove any tape overhang if needed.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then apply\u00a0<\/strong>Premium Double-Sided Tape \u00bcin<\/a> to the back of DAD craft stick. Attach it to black cardstock with foiled edges.\u00a0Premium Double-Sided Tape \u00bcin<\/a> is <\/span>a strong adhesive, it will hold the craft stick in place permanently.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now add strips of Premium Double-Sided Tape \u00bcin<\/a> to back of the black cardstock (with DAD craft stick) and fasten it to the card front.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Finishing Touches<\/h2>\n

To finish, stamp the verses with blue ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Die cut the verses into strips and trim points off the left edge of upper verse and the right end of lower verse strip. Cut scraps of 3D Foam Creative Sheets<\/a> to fit the back of each verse strip and add to the back of each verse. These work well for a bit of dimension and make good use of the scraps! Add each verse to card front above and below the DAD strip.<\/p>\n

All that’s left is to show some love to a special Dad with this wood and foil Father’s Day card!<\/p>\n
