Hi, everyone! Looking for a unique way to give a gift card to someone for their birthday? Make a card with a hidden pocket!<\/p>\n

Making the Gift Card Pocket <\/h2>\n

Creating a card with a hidden pocket is so easy! Start by creating a card base. Cover the card with a patterned paper. Not a fan of patterned paper? Do what I did! Use a stencil to create a pattern with ink on cardstock. <\/p>\n

Take a Keepsakes Envelope<\/a> and cut a piece of patterned paper to fit inside it. Slide the patterned paper into the pocket. Then use a paper trimmer to cut away the pocket’s flap. Adhere the pocket onto your card.<\/p>\n

Take a piece of double-sided tape and apply it onto the card, directly over the pocket. Remove the liner and burnish some foil<\/a> onto it.<\/p>\n

Now, apply one more piece of double-sided tape onto the card. Remove the liner and burnish some more foil onto it.<\/p>\n

Before we go on with the card, here’s a quick tip for storing your sheets of Metallic Transfer Foil<\/a>. Use a page protector for storage. Add a piece of cardstock or cardboard to the page protector and slide the foil sheets into it. I find this helps keep them nice, crisp and from getting damaged.<\/p>\n

Finishing the Card<\/h2>\n

Now, back to the card. Stamp a sentiment on a strip of cardstock. You’ll also want to stamp, die-cut and color an image your card. Adhere them to the card with Thin 3D Foam Squares<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Complete your card by writing a message in the card and adding a gift card to your pocket. This pocket is also perfect for cash and gift certificates! <\/p>\n
