Welcome back, crafty friends! Tracy<\/a> here, and today I have a fun little foiled mermaid card to share. I am using a fun foiling technique to create scales using Metallic Transfer Foils in Variety<\/a> colors.<\/p>\n

A Foiled Mermaid Tail <\/h2>\n

Cover a section of coordinating cardstock with E-Z Runner\u00ae Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser<\/a>. Make sure it is large enough for the mermaid stamp image. Then using the teal Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets<\/a> cover the adhesive with the teal side facing up, press firmly and peel back the foil to reveal the foiled mermaid tail.<\/p>\n

Repeat the same process with the E-Z Runner\u00ae Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser<\/a> and Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets<\/a> for the tail fin and the seashell top, this time using the purple foil to create the foiled scales. <\/p>\n

Next, using the stamp and black permanent ink, stamp the images on top of the foiled sections. Fussy cut the foiled and stamped sections. <\/p>\n

Inking the Background<\/h2>\n

Create a simple blended background using water-reactive ink and a blending tool, going from the light inside to dark on the outside.<\/p>\n

I splattered the blended background with water and let dry and then stamped the sentiment in the corner with black ink. <\/p>\n

Adhere the background to the pink cardstock mat using the E-Z Runner\u00ae Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser<\/a>, then adhere that to the white cardstock base using Crafty Foam Tape White<\/a>, so it has a little bit of dimension between the layers.<\/p>\n

Stamp the mermaid image once more onto white cardstock and add colour to the remaining sections using alcohol markers. Fussy cut out the coloured section.<\/p>\n

Add the fussy cut foiled mermaid image to the card using 3D Foam Squares Small White Size<\/a>. Using glitter glue, add some sparkle to the seashell and the mermaid’s headband. I also added a line around the edge of the pink cardstock layer.<\/p>\n
