Hi everyone, Yvonne<\/a> here with a New Home card. A subtle background is ever so easy to create with the help of the E-Z Dots\u00ae Repositionable Refillable Dispenser<\/a>. With the repositionable dots, you can easily mask cardstock to make gorgeous accents on your cards. I share another technique with the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors<\/a> for a stunning effect. So stay tuned!<\/p>\n

New Home Card Background<\/h2>\n

Start by running the E-Z Dots\u00ae Repositionable Refillable Dispenser<\/a> over a piece of white cardstock in several horizontal lines.<\/p>\n

Next, gently apply ink onto the card panel over the adhesive lines. Be sure to apply gently so that you are not rubbing the adhesive away yet. Let the ink dry.<\/p>\n

Once the ink has dried, simply rub the adhesive off with your fingers. This is where you will see the magic happen! The adhesive acts as a resist and leaves a subtle white dotted design. This works like a mask when you apply ink onto the card panel. What a great effect! Wasn’t that easy?<\/p>\n

Building the Card<\/h2>\n

Adhere your inked card panel onto a slightly larger black card panel using the E-Z Runner\u00ae Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser<\/a>. Then place the layered card panel to a white card base.<\/p>\n

To embellish the New Home card I fussy cut houses from patterned cardstock. Also, die-cut clouds from white cardstock.<\/p>\n

Apply Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix<\/a> on the back of the white brick house and 3D Foam Squares White Mix<\/a> on the back of the foreground house to create differing depths. Set aside.<\/p>\n

Next, add Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix<\/a> to the back of each of the clouds. Determine placement on the card front, remove liners, and adhere the cut pieces.<\/p>\n

Type out New Home on the label maker and place it on a piece of white cardstock. Hand-cut into a matted banner and adhere to the card by stacking two Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix<\/a> to make it really pop up!<\/p>\n

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside<\/h2>\n

With a lot of space left on the bottom, I decided to add a foiled accent and match the design from the resist background. <\/p>\n

Instead of a resist technique, I will do a Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside<\/strong><\/em> technique. Use them on the outside and create unique embellishments instead of using the adhesive between layers. You can perfectly match your projects using mediums such as foil, embossing powder, glitter, microbeads, flock, and more!<\/p>\n

I choose to use the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors<\/a> with the E-Z Dots\u00ae Permanent Refillable Dispenser<\/a>. <\/p>\n

To start, I ran the adhesive over the card in several horizontal stripes. Next, place a piece of Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors<\/a> color side UP over the adhesive and gently rub with your fingertip to transfer the color to the adhesive. Then peel off the foil to create a gorgeous glittery effect! It’s that easy + fast and the best part, no tools required!<\/p>\n

The Finishing Touches<\/h2>\n

For the final touch, I tore a piece of washi tape with the word, Congratulations, and made it a part of the sentiment to the card by adding it on top of the foiled accent.<\/p>\n
