Hi there, Jamie Martin<\/a> with you today, and I have a card featuring “floating strips”. So don’t throw those scraps away, this is a great way to use them up.<\/p>\n

\"Floating<\/figure>\n

Floating Strips Circle<\/h2>\n

To make this floating piece, I die-cut acetate with a circle die and since I’ve been throwing away my scraps, I cut kraft color cardstock to 1\/4″ and purple to 1\/2″.  You can make the strips any size you like and they don’t need to be the same.<\/p>\n

To adhere the strips to the acetate I used E-Z Squares on the purple strips and the Dual Tip Glue Pen for the kraft colored strips since they were so thin. I used a grid to line up my strips and started with the purple strip in the center of the circle and then alternated the colors until the circle was filled leaving spaces in between the colors.<\/p>\n

\"Floating<\/figure>\n

3D Foam Strips were used on the back of the acetate, these strips are nice and thin so they don’t need to be cut other than for length.<\/p>\n

Creating a Background<\/h2>\n

Add interest to your white cardstock card panel by dry embossing it with a stencil.<\/p>\n

\"Floating<\/figure>\n

It was then layered onto slightly larger purple cardstock and mounted to a white card using the E-Z Squares.<\/p>\n

\"Floating<\/figure>\n

Adding Floating Strips Details <\/h2>\n

The floating strips were then popped up on the card and a white flower die-cut was glued to the left side of the circle using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.<\/p>\n

\"Floating<\/figure>\n

Stamp the sentiment on kraft-colored cardstock with VersaMark Ink and emboss with white embossing powder. Pop up the sentiment with 3D Foam Strips. <\/p>\n

Looking for a great way to make DIY enamel dots? Randomly add Adhesive Dots Micro to the card and place a Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Holographic over the dots (color side up), rub the top and remove the foil liner.<\/p>\n
