Hello friends! Valentine’s Day is not far off so here’s a pretty Love Tag with a background created with glue resist and Archival inks. It’s fairly easy to do and creates a nice background for this Love message with 3D Foam Hearts<\/a>! I was inspired by a technique shown by Wendy Vecchi for a resist background.<\/p>\n

Love Tag Background<\/h2>\n
\n
\"Love<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Place #8 manila tag on scrap paper and place stencil over it. Squeeze out some glue from Dual Tip Glue Pen<\/a> on a craft mat. Use a make-up sponge to sponge glue through the stencil onto the entire tag. Remove the stencil and wash off the glue. Allow the tag to dry for a few minutes or heat it with a heat tool to speed up the drying time.<\/p>\n

Use a sponge applicator tool to apply Distress Archival Ink Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry over the tag. Continue until the desired intensity of color. <\/p>\n

Dampen a paper towel with alcohol and rub over the tag to remove excess ink on resist areas and blend colors. Allow it to dry. Then stamp the script design randomly on the tag with Distress Archival Hickory Smoke ink. <\/p>\n

Ink flourish stamp with Versamark ink, stamp, and with heat embossing with gold embossing powder. Press the edges of the tag onto the Versamark ink pad, apply gold embossing powder to the edges and heat emboss. <\/p>\n

Die Cut Letters<\/h2>\n

Die cut “LOVE” and “You” from a sheet of 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small White<\/a>. Set aside.<\/p>\n

Emboss Heart<\/h2>\n

Place large 3D Foam Hearts<\/a> onto a non-stick craft sheet, cover with Distress Kitsch Flamingo Glaze, remove excess and heat emboss. Adhere the heart onto the tag.<\/p>\n

With a Versamark marker, outline the heart. Next, apply the gold embossing powder and heat emboss it. Note if some of the gold embossing powder sticks to the heart, if preferred, brush off it before heat embossing. <\/p>\n

Embellish the Letters<\/h2>\n

Keep top release paper on letters and peel 3D Foam letters for “YOU” from the release sheet. Place letters on the heart. Remove liners from the letters and cover them with the gold foil in the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors<\/a>. Remember to press the foil color side UP firmly on the letters and peel away to reveal the color. If there are missed areas, simply re-apply the foil.<\/p>\n

Place “LOVE” 3D Foam letters on the tag, peel away liners and cover letters with Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors<\/a> in gold (color side up). Press firmly and peel away to reveal the color. If there are missed areas, simply re-apply the foil.<\/p>\n

Small Hearts<\/h2>\n

Place small hearts from 3D Foam Hearts<\/a> on the tag – three at the top left edge and two at the bottom right edge. Remove liners and cover each heart with Distress Kitsch Flamingo Glaze. Remove the excess (use a brush to remove stray glaze) and heat emboss. <\/p>\n

The photo shows the bottom two hearts embossed and the top three ready to apply the glaze.<\/p>\n

Rub off the white seam binding with Distress Archival Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry inks, mist with alcohol, and crumple to distribute color. Tie seam binding and gold string to the tag. <\/p>\n
