Hi, Judy<\/a> here today! When I was working on this project, I was struggling with an idea. As I sat at my worktable, I started looking through a dish of bits and pieces and I found a die-cut heart and a verse that inspired me to make this vintage-looking tag. <\/p>\n

Layer and Ink Tag Background<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

The base is a #8 manilla tag. I pressed some adhesive from Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6in.<\/a> along the left side and placed pieces of a torn old book page on it leaving gaps between pieces. <\/p>\n

Over the exposed adhesive areas, I sprinkled Distress Glazes, heat embossed them with a heat tool. Repeat until I like the look of it.<\/p>\n

The entire tag is colored with various Distress inks rubbed over it. Script and foliage are stamped on the tag with black permanent ink. <\/p>\n

Create the Heart Focal Point<\/h2>\n

These hearts are from my stash: a foil heart cut from foil-covered cardstock and a smaller heart cut from fabric-covered cardstock. Fabric-covered cardstock was made by attaching the fabric to the cardstock using Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6in. Foil-covered cardstock is made with aluminum foil tape from the hardware store taped on before die cutting.<\/p>\n

By rubbing Distress Crayon and Distress Archival Black Soot ink onto the edges of the foil heart, it gets a more vintage look. Rub Distress Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain inks on the fabric heart for an “old” look. Use the Dual Tip Glue Pen<\/a> to secure the fabric heart over the foil heart. <\/p>\n

Create the Verse<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

To make the verse pieces, stamp the verse on white cardstock and cut it apart into separate pieces. Color each verse piece with Distress inks and small amounts of Distress Vintage Photo Glaze heat embossed on them. <\/p>\n

Lift with 3D Foam Strips = Perfect!<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Apply strips of 3D Foam Strips Black<\/a> to the back of all verse pieces. It has the perfect width so lifting and attaching sentiment strips are so easy!<\/p>\n

On the back of the heart, add 3D Foam Squares Black Regular<\/a> to the center part to fill in the raised part of the heart. Add 3D Foam Strips Black<\/a> around the edges of the heart. <\/p>\n

Embellish and Secure the Lace<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

To make the lace look old, rub with Distress Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain inks, mist with water, and roll in a ball to spread ink through the lace, allow to dry or dry with a heat tool. Apply Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1\/8in.<\/a> along the top edge of the lace. <\/p>\n

Assemble Pieces on Tag<\/h2>\n

Peel the liner from the lace edge and adhere across the tag and trim ends. Next, peel the liners from the heart, and attach it over the lace. Make sure to press well to secure. Arrange the verse pieces, peel the liners from each piece, and place them on the tag.<\/p>\n

Near the bottom edge of the tag, place a strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1\/8in.<\/a> and wrap ends about 0.5 inches to the back of the tag. Remove the liner and place two strands of cord over the Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1\/8in.<\/a>, press in place, wrap ends to the back of the tag, and trim excess.<\/p>\n

Finish with a Bow and Ties<\/h2>\n

Tie a piece of cord into a small bow. Place Adhesive Dots Micro<\/a> on the back of the bow knot, peel the liner, and place the bow on the heart.<\/p>\n

Use Distress ink to “age” several pieces of torn fabric and cord. Lastly, loop through the tag hole…and done!<\/p>\n
