Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another inspiration from Asia King (that’s me!). Today I’m sharing a Holy Communion card I made for my niece. In Poland, where I come from, the First Communion is always a big event and I wanted my card to reflect this grand occasion.
I prepared the base by cutting a 6″x6″ card blank and I added a mat and a (trimmed to size) pearlescent paper panel. I adhered them all with the Refillable E-Z Runner® – Permanent Strips.
For my card I used stamps from Stampendous: Jumbo Grapes and Lily Cross. I stamped them both onto pearlescent papers with StazOn inks.
The Lily Cross image was coloured with Inktense pencils and die cut with Spellbinders die. I adhered the panel to the base of the card with Thin Foam Squares – White.
For the grapes I roughly cut around the image, covered the printed side of the paper with Adhesive Sheet and burnished it thoroughly. Next I fussy cut the image and peeled off the protective sheet to reveal the adhesive. I sprinkled the image with a Crystal Micro Glitter which added sparkle without covering much of the stamped impression underneath.
I also added a handful of Dodz Adhesive Dots 3D to add dimension to a selection of grapes. I covered the DODZ™ with Micro Glitter as well. I mounted the grape bunch over some cheese cloth onto Crafty Foam Tape and Thin White Foam Squares.
To finish I added a sentiment, a few embellishments and some sparkly swirls.
Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
