Flamazing Flamingo Cards with Thin 3D Foam Squares

Are you a fan of the flamingo? I think you’ll enjoy some fun new cards I created 🙂 Hello everyone and Happy New Year, Jana here to share this bright flamingo set of cards today.

When I have the time (and the energy!) to create some cards, I like to do a bunch of them. Just grabbing papers from my stash, matching elements and stamping to get me started on my creating. This time, I am using this fabulous stamp and die set from My Favorite Things called Flamazing. With a name like that, you have to use it! LOL!

Flamingo in Action

Have you used watercolors instead of stamping with an ink pad? I thought I’d give it a try because I wanted to have that messy imperfect look and it worked perfectly. Although I did use green ink pads for some of the palm trees. I love to mix of colors and media for an interesting effect.

Referring to the images below, I trimmed patterned papers into strips and added stitching for more interest. Then I assembled the elements to the card front with E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips and popped up the die cuts with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix. The E-Z Runner also useful in securing my stray threads to the back of the paper strips.

I am really happy with how these cards turned out. See a close up of each of them…I think my friends will enjoy receiving these, don’t you think?

View my process video below to see how I made them in action.
