Hello crafty friends! Tracy here, and today I have some Up-Cycled Holiday Card ideas that came from my pile of last year’s holiday season. Nothing like starting your seasonal cards now especially with what you have on hand! Let me show you my two reconstructed creations!
Holiday Card Duo – Thoughts of This Season
The first card was built from three Christmas cards in my stash. I took one entire glittery scene card front and fussy cut a snowy glittered tree from another. The sentiment was taken from the third card.
Add the glittery card front to a white cardstock card base using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser. Place and pop up the the snowy tree with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix toward the right side of the card. To add a little more lift and highlight the sentiment, I used 3D Foam Squares White Mix and placed it at the bottom.
For the finishing touch, I wanted to accent it with a little more color and shine so sequins were added to the tree using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.
Holiday Card Duo – Merry Christmas Across the Miles
The second up-cycled card, I used parts from two Christmas cards. The gold frame and sentiment were from one card. Fussy cut the bird with branch, along with some snowflakes from the other. Let’s work on the frame and sentiment first.
Add the frame to the black cardstock card base using Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix for a subtle lift. Next, wrap a little burlap string around the sentiment strip and tie a bow. Then place it on the top left corner of the card with some small squares from the 3D Foam Squares White Mix.
To finish the card, adhered bird with branch to the card front using several 3D Foam Squares White Mix. Then add the snowflakes with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix for a different dimension.
