Hi friends! 🍒 It’s Ali here, and I’m so excited to share a super sweet Cherry on Top Cut File Layout I created for the design team using a fun cut file and my favorite crafty foam tape! The title, “You Are the Cherry on Top,” was absolutely perfect for this photo of me sitting on top of a giant cherry at the Museum of Ice Cream when we visited a couple of years ago. I mean… could there be a more fitting title? 🍒
Cherry on Top Background
For the background, I pulled out an older collection from Doodlebug Design — because you know I love mixing in those classic goodies! I used some of the patterned papers for my base and cut the cut file from crisp white cardstock to make everything pop. With the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser, I backed the main words with that adorable cherry paper from the collection and added in some Petite Prints for the words “on” and “top” to bring in a little extra texture and contrast.
Cherry Shaker Feature
Now let’s talk about my favorite part… the cherries! I really wanted them to stand out, so I decided to turn them into shakers. First, I backed each cherry with acetate. Then I used 3D Foam Strips to outline the back edges to create space for the shaker bits. After filling them with a fun sequin mix, I sealed them up with another piece of acetate — and ta-da! The cutest little cherry shakers ever! 🍒✨
The other adorable cherry embellishment was added on the upper left corner of my photo for the perfect accent!
To give the rest of the cut file dimension, I added Crafty Foam Tape White 108ft. and 3D Foam Strips to the back so it would lift beautifully off that bright red background paper. You all know I can’t resist dimension!
The Finishing Touches
Embellish the letters with adorable buttons and added a cherry Doodle Pop sticker using 3D Foam Squares White Mix to make those cherries pop right off the page and tie everything together.
