Wish You Were Here Travel Book Lawn Fawn Blog Hop – Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of Blog Hop Week with Lawn Fawn

It’s Blog Hop week with Lawn Fawn, join us all week, and enter to win a fabulous prize through the Rafflecopter system each day! Be sure to visit Lawn Fawn for their fun projects and prize too!

I am sharing a travel book that I created using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Adhesive Sheet – 4 x 6″, Adhesive Dots Small and 3D Foam Squares – White, Small. Also with these Lawn Fawn items: Wish You Were Here Stamp Set, Wish You Were Here Lawn Cuts, Pint-Sized Patterns: Beachside Petite Paper Pad (6 x 6″) and Lawn Ornaments Sequins, I ended up with this FUN book. Come join me in the process!

Wish You Were Here Travel Book by Margie Higuchi

I started with a black 4 x 6″ art book and primed it with Gesso (two to three coats with dry time in between coats). Then painted three coats of Sea Breeze Chalkboard Paint (don’t forget the dry time in between coats). Then to finish I sealed it with Glaze Medium.

2 500 Gesso
3 500 PaintGlaze

On a 3¾ x 5¾” piece of High Seas patterned paper, I rolled stars on the edge as a border. I used a small watercolor brush to apply the gold pigment powder on the stars. You only need just a little bit (I took powder off of the lid! LOL!). No pigment powder? Glitter or Embossing Powder work too!

4 500 Stars

I placed the embellished patterned paper on to a Adhesive Sheet – 4 x 6″ and burnished with the round edge of my bone folder. Then place it on the front cover of the book.

5 500 AdhesiveSheetBGPaper

Next I used the Adhesive Sheet – 4 x 6″ to apply adhesive on my letter die cuts and adhere them on top of the patterned paper on the book to create my title.

6 500 LettersOnAdhesiveSheet

To die cut my Coral patterned paper, I first applied the Adhesive Sheet – 4 x 6″ on the back of the paper. Then stamped the U.S. Map image and secured the die over the image with repositionable tape. Cut with my die cutting machine…the Adhesive Sheet does not leave a sticky residue on my machine or on the die. TOTAL COVERAGE = LOVE!!

7 500 AdhesiveSheetDieCutting1
8 500 AdhesiveSheetDieCutting2
9 500 AdhesiveSheetDieCutting3

My sentiment was stamped on the Polka Dot Bikini patterned paper and I hand cut it to create a ribbon tail banner. After adhering the U.S. Map die cut on to the book cover, I placed the sentiment on top with 3D Foam Squares – White, Small.

10 500 Sentiment
11 500 Sentiment2

After I was done, I felt I needed something more so I added more stars in the title with the Pigment Powder – Gold and added Lawn Ornaments Sequins with Adhesive Dots Small.

12 500 Sequins

So I’m excited to use this new book as I have a couple of fun trips planned this year 🙂 Here’s another look at the Wish You Were Here Travel Book – you can see the dimension of the banner and sparkly sequins!
