Hi, Judy here today! With Valentine’s Day just a few weeks away, I put together this Gold Thread With Love Card. It features a 3D Foam Heart that’s been heat embossed with gold embossing powder and topped with a heart covered with red foil from Metallic Foil Transfer Sheets Celebrate Colors. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or even an anniversary.
Card Pieces
Cut Balsa cardstock 5.5 x8.5 inches, score and fold to form 4.25 x 5.5 inch card. From black cardstock, cut 4 x 5.25 inch mat.
Cut a piece of Balsa cardstock 3.875 x 5.125 inches and emboss using embossing folder and die cutting machine. Use foam applicator and Distress Antique Linen ink to lightly rub ink over embossed design.
From black music paper, cut rectangle piece 4 x 5.25 inches and tear diagonally. Roll edges and use applicator to rub with Distress Antique Linen ink
Assemble Card Base
Apply adhesive to back of music piece with E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser and fasten to embossed panel. Trim any edges of music piece if needed. Then apply adhesive to back of embossed panel using E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser and fasten to black mat.
Wrap Thread
Determine placement for gold thread and use E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser to apply adhesive on back to hold thread end. Wrap thread 5-7 times around panel and secure end on back.
Fasten panel to card front by applying adhesive to back with E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.
Emboss Heart
Remove one large heart and 2 small hearts from 3D Foam Hearts and place on non stick craft mat. Peel off liners, cover with gold embossing powder, remove excess and heat emboss with heat gun. While still warm, add more embossing powder along edges, then remove excess and heat emboss. Allow to cool.
Place medium size heart from 3D Foam Hearts on embossed heart and press firmly in place. Remove liner, press red foil sheet from Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Celebrate Colors onto heart and peel it away. Repeat if needed to cover completely with foil.
Place Heart on Card
Carefully peel heart from non stick craft sheet and place on card over gold thread. Place a small heart above and one below large heart and press in place.
Greeting
Stamp greeting on black cardstock with Versamark ink, cover with Wow! gold embossing powder, remove excess and heat emboss. Use coordinating die and die cutting machine to cut greeting strip.
Cut a narrow piece of 3D Foam from 3D Foam Hearts sheet and fasten to back of greeting strip. Peel liner and place on embossed heart.
