It’s Harvest season and love all the colors it represents. Today, I found a painted pumpkin on a canvas in my stash…yes, I’m trying to clean my craft space…SQUIRREL! LOL! Hi, Margie here to share this Cute as a Button Pumpkin Canvas featuring Adhesive Dots 3D, 3D Foam Leaves and Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets COLOR…and of course, BUTTONS!
Button Pumpkin Design
At a trade show, Buttons Galore & More gave me this canvas to play with. So I decided to use my Adhesive Dots to secure all these wonderful buttons, half pearls and sequins also given to me by the kind folks at Buttons Galore & More. I used a combination of Adhesive Dots Micro, Adhesive Dots Mini, Adhesive Dots Medium and Adhesive Dots 3D. Designer’s Tip: Use a gem picker! Such a helper!!
On each side of the pumpkin, I used only buttons to keep a consistent texture and look. These buttons were secured with the Adhesive Dots 3D. Designer’s Tip: For extra security, I briefly blasted the heating tool on the back of the canvas to melt the Adhesive Dots 3D into the buttons (think globs of glue gun glue! lol!).
Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with 3D Foam Leaves
For extra shine and more dimension, I placed a medium leaf from the 3D Foam Leaves on the upper right side of the pumpkin stem. I wrinkle a piece of green foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Pastel Colors and after removing the top liner, I place the foil color side facing me. Rub to transfer the color to the leaf and you’ll see the distress lines (which is exposed adhesive).
Next, I place a piece of green foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Variety Colors over the leaf (color side up), rub to transfer the color into the exposed adhesive. Peel off to reveal the marble design! I changed my mind…I layered another smaller leaf from the 3D Foam Leaves instead of what is pictured. Repeat the foiling steps. Done!
