Sparkly Birthday Party Cards

Do you have a pack of 3D Foam Shapes from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L? There are 15 different themed pre-cut shapes. I happened to have the 3D Foam Party Shapes pack to make Sparkly Birthday Party Cards! Hi, Margie here and let me show you how I created them – get the kids involved!

Create Birthday Party Card Front

Cut a piece of 4 x 6 in. patterned paper diagonally with each opposite corner at the 0.50 in. mark of the paper trimmer.

Add a strip of Crafty Power Tape on the diagonal edge. Use the bone folder to burnish the tape. Next, apply the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Dispenser on the back and place on a white A2 size card base. (Note: I changed my mind and used the B-side of the paper…love two-sided papers!). Set aside.

Embellish the Focal Point

After die-cutting a decorative edge oval out of white cardstock, I designed my focal point using the various shapes from the 3D Foam Party Shapes pack. Designer’s Note: I used a leftover liner to help with placement and to line up the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets

Cut a small piece of all the colors from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Variety Colors. Remove a top liner from one of the shapes and place the foil on top (color side facing you). Gently rub the foil to transfer the color. Peel off the foil to reveal shiny colored accents! Lastly, I drew balloon strings and dotted accents to one of the oval designs. Repeat the foiling steps to the diagonal border before assembling the card.

Assemble the Birthday Party Card

Apply 3D Foam Strips Large White on the back of the oval and center on your card front. Now it’s ready to be sent out!
