Birthday Party Treat Bags

Hi friends! A very happy Wednesday to you, and I hope you’re having a great week! Leslie here today, sharing a tutorial for making a set of fun birthday party treat bags! Every birthday party needs cute little bags to hold the treats and favors, right?! I made two for demonstration purposes, but you can make as many as you’d like. I used cardstock, dies, birthday papers and die cut pieces in my stash, and quite a few Scrapbook Adhesives products. Let’s get started… you’re going to love making these!

Cut Base Pieces & Layer

First, using a goody bag die, cut two pieces for the base from purple cardstock. Fold on the score lines. This tutorial will focus on the purple goody bag, however, you’ll follow the same steps for each one you make.

Second, die cut just one flat section of the goody bag (with the handle cut-out) from patterned paper. Trim a tad bit off the sides and bottom to layer on the front of the bag.

Construct Bag & Adhere Layer

Assemble the goody bag using Crafty Power Tape Polybag 81ft.. Next, adhere the patterned paper panel using the E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside!

Okay, now comes the fun part… embellishing the bags. Make two rosettes for each bag, employing the awesome ‘Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside’ technique! Grab some 3D Foam Circles White Mix and sprinkle purple and blue glitter on two of them. Totally use Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Celebrate Colors on the other two.

To make shiny embellishments for your projects, simply remove the liner from the 3D Foam Circles White Mix and sprinkle on the glitter. Press with your finger to secure and tap off the excess. For the foiled ones, remove the liner from the circle and press the foil onto it with the pretty color side toward you. Adhere the rosettes to the bag with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Complete Birthday Party Treat Bags

Additionally, add a few die cut pieces using Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix and 3D Foam Squares Micro White. A banner on a toothpick is a super fun touch. Adhesive Lines on the back of the banner work great to adhere the toothpick.

Finally, use the Dual Tip Glue Pen to glue a die cut ticket with the guest’s name to the inside back of the bag. Afterwards, adhere a balloon die cut on the top edge of the ticket. It’s advisable to place some acetate behind it with Adhesive Dots Micro for added stability.

As mentioned above, follow this same process for each birthday party treat bag you make. These are so fun and will delight all the party-goers… young and old alike!
