Happy February! It’s Amy here with a couple gift card holders that use a balloon die, Adhesive Sheets and gold gilding flakes.

Pin This!
I was at my local stamp shop over the weekend and saw a project using gilding flakes and was super intrigued by them. The Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6″ are perfect to use with them. Here’s a peek at some of my supplies:
I first started by die-cutting all my pieces. For the balloon, I applied Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6″ on the white foam by removing the liner and placing on the white foam. Next I die-cut the balloon – cuts so well and without residue.
I put together the gift card envelope first by using my E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.
For the front panel of the envelope, I decided to do a bit of fussy cutting. I liked the stitching detail so decided to keep that with my patterned panel.
Now the fun part! Remove the liner from the balloon die cut and apply the gold gilding flakes. I literally held my breath during this process because those flakes are so light they fly away at the slightest movement.
Here’s the piece fully covered with the flakes:
I used my fingers to burnish the flakes into the adhesive foam shape:
I finished off the gift card holders with heat embossed sentiments attached to the holders with 3D Foam Squares Regular and twisted gold twine.
Thanks so much for stoppin’ by!
