Hi Everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here to celebrate my kids returning to school! YAY! Ok, I admit we had a wonderful summer, and I love the relaxing schedule, but sometimes routines (and early bedtimes) are a good thing.
Here is a card I made for a teacher:
I wanted to create a vintage “old school” design with a bulletin board and thumbtack note. So I used 3D Foam Frames, 3D Foam Stars and Dodz Adhesive Dots in Small, Medium and 3D.
I adhered the first layer of paper to my card with Dodz Adhesive Dtos 3D. This gives that layer subtle dimension without the bulk.
Then I designed the bulletin board with cork paper and a 3D Foam Frame, which I embossed with copper embossing powder, so it looks like a metal frame around the cork board.
After heating the 3D Foam Frame to set the embossing powder, I cut out the cork board and stuck it onto my card base.
After stamping a “Welcome Back” note onto a small piece of paper, I adhered it to the cork board with Dodz™ Medium.
To create the vintage metal thumbtack, I placed a Small Dodz™ on the note, added copper embossing powder and heat set it. I love this effect!
Did you know that Adhesive Dots can be used as an embellishment? This adhesive can be heat embossed!
I finished off the cork board with a few glittered 3D Foam Stars.
Sometimes old school can be cool…at least that’s what I tell my kids!
Happy Crafting!
Kelly Klapstein

What a wonderful teacher card I’m sure the teacher will love it. The cok paper is a nice touch!
