Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing how to assemble a jersey number shaker embellishment for a sports themed scrapbook layout. The spring soccer season is over for my girls and me. I had a great time looking back at photos from the past couple of months and reliving some of my favorite game highlights. I created this page to record my daughter’s accomplishments and to celebrate her jersey number.
Creating a Sports Themed Background with Patterned Paper and Stamps
To begin, gather patterned papers that coordinate with the sports team colors.
Stamping prints onto patterned paper or cardstock is a great way to customize paper for a sports-themed layout. I used a generic trophy stamp to create a patterned paper border strip. A distressed hexagon stamp makes a wonderful soccer ball print.
Next, cut and arrange the paper into a block grid design using various sizes of rectangles and squares. Attach the shapes to a base piece of paper using E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Dots. Finally, add a textured element, like felt die-cuts, to an area for interest and dimension. Secure these elements to the page using the E-Z Runner Ultra Strong Dispenser.
Building a Jersey Number Shaker Embellishment
First, color a chipboard number shaker set with acrylic paint to match the team colors.
Then, use the E-Z Runner Micro Dispenser to apply adhesive to the chipboard pieces of the number shaker. Next, stack two of the number outline pieces onto the base number. Then, fill the shaker with sequins or beads and place the acrylic number piece over the base number and press to seal. Lastly, secure the final number outline piece to the shaker.
Attach the shaker embellishment to the layout with 1/2-inch Extreme Double-Sided Tape. Use Thin 3D Foam Squares to apply stamped sentiments to the layout.
Finishing Touches
Thin 3D Foam Squares are perfect for attaching chipboard photo frames or other dimensional page elements to the layout.
Add a small journaling card to record the team accomplishments and date.
Thanks for stopping by today!
