Vintage Train Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing a card with a vintage look. The antique train image set the stage for it! I added black photo corners at the image corners and on the corners of the card. It makes me think of an old photo album. Let me show you how to create this Vintage Train Birthday Card.

Vintage Train Focal Point

My design started with the train image stamped in black on watercolor paper. I wanted to keep a somewhat neutral color palette. It ended up with a touch of green, too. After painting, I tore the paper edges to the size I liked, about 3.5 x 5 inches.

Card Panel Layers

Use E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser to fasten train image to black cardstock.. E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser is super strong adhesive that works well for watercolor paper since it’s thick and often wants to curl.

I chose a tan cardstock cut to 8 x 7.75 inches and folded it in half to form a 4 x 7.75 inch card.

Vintage Train Card Details

To stamp the brackets at top and bottom of the train image, use a stamping platform, almost a must to get them in center and straight and also use it to stamp “Happy Birthday”.

Adhere the train image by using E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser to apply adhesive along edges and center. On each corner, place a photo corner from Creative Photo Corners Black and place it on the card front.

To decorate the card corners, I trimmed Creative Photo Corners Black as shown in the photo.

There is enough adhesive on back of each Creative Photo Corners Black to secure each one on a corner of the card.
