Hi, Lara here again! This year instead of just doing a Gratitude Journal for November, I decided to do one for the next year.
I had found this nice green color notebook when I was going through boxes of stuff to get rid of and I decided it was the perfect look for a mini album but then I decided it would make a great extended version of a Gratitude Journal. After all the things my family has gone through in the past 6 or 7 years, I have realized there is always something to be grateful for even if it is something as simple as the sound of rain or seeing the sunrise.

Create the Gratitude Journal Cover
I didn’t like the cover so I cut a piece of patterned paper about 1/2″ smaller than the journal cover. Then for the second layer, I cut about 1″ smaller than the first patterned paper. Adhere both to the cover using the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.
Embellishing the Cover
I created a word block on the cover by cutting a rectangle shape from green cardstock and a white one about 1/2″ smaller. Mat the rectangles together and adhere to the upper top of the gird paper with the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.
Using a combination of rub-ons, stamps, letter stickers, and handwritten “gratitude” + “journal”, I achieved my cover design.

Lastly, I drew some line work to frame out the title and added a butterfly die-cut shape adhered with the Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8in. Pictured above is a close-up image of the title 🙂
Finishing Touch
To finish, I tied some pretty ribbon on the wired spine for interest and texture. Here is another view with one of my favorite plants, the Begonia maculata…love the polka-dotted leaves and it goes well with the green colors of my Gratitude Journal!

Here is the journal with the adhesives I used. I wanted to keep it pretty flat so it fit in my purse.

I hope my project inspired you to start your Gratitude Journal for 2025!
Thanks for visiting!
