Floral Thank You Card

Hi, Judy here today! For this pretty Floral Thank You Card, I used watercolors in fall colors to paint the flowers. I like to add a little dimension to cards so I’ve used 3D Foam Strips Large White to attach the flowers to the panel. For the cardstock, I used the 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small White for greeting words. This card goes together quite quickly once the watercolor flowers panel was finished.

Create the Flowers Focal Point

Cut a piece of Distress watercolor paper slightly larger than floral stamp, 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Use a stamp positioning tool to stamp flowers onto smooth side of watercolor paper with Morning Mist ink. Leave stamp in stamping tool to use again later.

Use watercolors to paint flowers. Place painted piece back in stamping tool, ink stamp with Fallen Leaves ink and stamp. Use coordinating die and die cutting machine to die-cut flowers.

Floral Card Layers

Cut white cardstock 8.5 x 6.5 inches, score and fold to form 4.25 x 6.5 inch card. From light blue cardstock, cut 3.375 x 4.25 inch rectangle and use a 0.5 inch corner rounder to round each corner. Cut 3.5 x 4.375 inch rectangle from dark brown cardstock and round each corner with corner rounder.

Apply the E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser to the back of the light blue piece and secure it to the dark brown piece. Then adhere the layered panel to the card front about 1.25 inches from the top.

Secure the Flowers

Cut pieces of 3D Foam Strips Large White to fit the back of the floral die-cut shape. Peel off the top liners and center it to the card front.

Create the Greetings

On a piece of white cardstock, stamp the sentiment words using Fallen Leaves ink and trim the excess cardstock. Place 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small White on the back of the stamped cardstock. Trim off any excess foam sheet.

Die-cut it with the coordinating word dies. Designer’s Tip: It’s best to make at least two passes with die cutting machine to ensure a clean cut. Peel liners from the die-cut words and attach them on the card as shown.
