Basics for a Gift Ornament

Start by finding an ornament with a wide screw top opening. Can’t find one? Try using a small clear jar instead. Next, cut a rectangular piece of patterned paper to fit inside the ornament. Then cut a similar sized clear transparency piece and adhere a few 3D Foam Circles and 3D Foam Butterflies.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with 3D Foam Shapes, Tape and Foils

Now the fun! Cut a small piece of Platinum foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Nature Colors and place on top of the shapes with the color side facing up. Rub the foil to transfer the color onto the shapes. Done! Now roll the patterned paper and transparency tightly and place them inside the ornament, letting them loosen up.

Apply a strip of Premium Double-Sided Tape across the exterior of the ornament as pictured. Using the same foiling steps using a piece of gold foil, create your gold border accent.

Finishing Touches

Place a sticker on the ornament, placing it over your largest foam shape. Seal the ornament. If desired, add piece of patterned paper or cardstock onto the lid.

Fill the ornament by making a tag to put inside the ornament. Instead of the tag, you could place a small gift inside. A gift card, cash or even a small pair of earrings would be great gifts to place inside.

Also, consider adding a hanger to the top of your ornament. Twine, ribbon and jute all make excellent hangers. If you are using a jar with a lid rather than an ornament, consider making a hanger for it.
