Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing how to create a piece of patriotic home décor using 3D Foam Stars and Transfer Foil Sheets. This red, white, and blue wood star is a great way to decorate for national holidays or to show your patriotism all year long.

How to Apply Acrylic Paint to Wood for a Rustic Finish

To begin, apply red, white, and blue acrylic paint to a wood star using a dry paintbrush. The paint will stick to the raised surfaces of the star, leaving some wood visible for a rustic finish. Let dry.

Next, spell out a patriotic sentiment with wood tile letters. Then, secure the tiles to the star with Thin 3D Foam Squares.

Patriotic Embellishments Using 3D Foam Shapes

Stick 3D Foam Stars onto the wood star. The various sizes of solid and nested stars in this set makes creating stellar dimensional designs quick and easy.

After the stars are placed onto the wood, peel away the top liner. Then, press a holographic silver Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet onto the stars and gently rub to transfer the foil. Finally, peel away the foil sheet to reveal the sparkly designs.

The summer months cover patriotic holidays in the US such as Memorial Day, Flag Day and 4th of July. These occasions are often celebratory in nature, and I enjoy gathering with friends and family, decorating, sharing a meal, and all the entertainment that goes with it.
