Joyful Day Mixed Media Card

Hello, Margie, here and I’m dabbling into cardmaking with this Joyful Day Mixed Media Card. Days are getting warmer and flowers are starting to bloom where I am. Using watercolors sets the mood for this card. Realizing that the cardstock would warp, I used my E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong adhesive to solve that problem! Come see what I created.

Joyful Mixed Media Background

On an 8.5 x 11-inch white cardstock, I painted it white instead of gesso (mine was missing). After randomly stamping around the paper, I stenciled on white molding paste and let dry. Next, I watercolored with markers in various spring colors until I got my desired look.

Once dried, I cut the sheet into fours to create four 4.25 x 5.5-inch card panels. Set aside three for other card projects.

Securing a Wonky Card Panel

Trim about 1/8-inch on the top and bottom of the card panel. I wanted a little bit of a border peeking from the white card base. Since it’s a little wonky from the water, I used E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser with the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refill to really stick and holds my Joyful Mixed Media panel down to the card.

It’s really easy to change out the cartridges and the best part, you can change it out mid-way to a different refill! See the quick How to Use and Refill E-Z Runner Grand Dispensers video.

Next, I stamped and watercolored three flower images. Once dried, I fussy cut them out. I picked out two of the three images to use and added 3D Foam Circles to the back.

Adding the Final Touches

Die-cut a ring with a decorative edge with pink cardstock. I forgot to put an adhesive sheet on the back BEFORE die-cutting but no problem. From my stash, I had leftover scraps of my Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12-inch. Just sandwich the die cut between the liner, rub and transfer the adhesive onto the die cut. Place it in the center of the card front.

Add the flowers on the lower left side on top of the ring. Adhere a stamped sentiment with 3D Foam Strip on top of the flower. Place pink rhinestones on the edges of the ring. You’re done!
