Hybrid Japan Trip Scrapbook Layout

Summer is approaching and so is travel season. Hi, Margie here today! We stayed overnight in a Taisho Modern Style (think Art Deco with a Japanese flair) hot springs inn during a recent trip to Japan. Breakfast was traditional (+ yummy!) and they had the most beautiful mulberry placemats! You know where this is going, right? LOL! When leaving, I asked them if I could have one clean sheet and I got one! See how I incorporated it into my two-page Hybrid Japan Trip Scrapbook Layout.

Working on the Left Side

On the back of the right side of the layout, I cut out 7 x 9.5-inch green patterned paper behind the mulberry placemat. Using the two pictures as a guide, I trimmed the patterned paper to 5.75 x 8.5 inches. I mat and secured the pictures with the Crafty Power Tape Polybag 81ft. and added Creative Photo Corners Gold on each corner. The matted pictures were placed on the left side of the two-page layout.

Working on the Right Side

For the right side of my two-page layout, I matted an 11 x 7-inch pink patterned paper to the picture collage, securing it with the Crafty Power Tape Polybag 81ft. and Creative Photo Corners Gold on each corner of the picture. Next, I tucked a layered 3 1/8-inch circle behind the upper right corner of the mat with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser. For interest, I fussy cut a knot from patterned paper and popped it up in the layered circle with a few 3D Foam Strips.

Hybrid Japan Trip Scenery Cluster

In my stash, I had a pack of Japanese-inspired ephemera designs. It had a curved bridge, stone lantern, and greenery that I put together to create a scenery cluster. I used a combination of E-Z Dots® Repositionable Refillable Dispenser and 3D Foam Strips to add dimension to the cluster.

Now the two-page layout is completed…I love how the cluster turned out! 🙂

If you have materials that are safe to use in your layouts, go for it! If you did one, I would love to visit. Keep documenting those travel journeys!

Thanks for stopping by!
