Sending Hugs Gift Pocket

Hi, friends! Looking for a quick, simple gift to give your friends on Valentine’s Day? Teri here to show you how to make some super cute Sending Hugs Gift Pocket Cards to tuck a packet of tea or coffee in!

Sending Hugs Gift Pocket Base

Cut a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ panel of cardstock for each pocket you want to make. Score fold lines across each panel at the 1″ and 4 3/4″ marks. Fold the pockets along the score lines. Apply E-Z Runner® Permanent Refillable Dispenser on the side edges of the inner pocket.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with a Stripe

Cut a patterned paper panel to add to the front of each pocket. Add additional paper strips to the panel with the E-Z Runner® Permanent Refillable Dispenser.

Next, take a piece of Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/2″ to each panel. Remove the liner, apply a piece of red foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Celebrate Colors, and gently rub the foil to transfer the color. Make sure that the color is facing you. Reapply the foil in missed areas.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with 3D Foam Hearts

Mount your patterned paper panels to the front of your pockets with the E-Z Runner® Permanent Refillable Dispenser. Place medium heart shapes from the 3D Foam Hearts onto the panels and apply the platinum foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Nature Colors using the foiling steps above. Place smaller hearts on the panel – stack some on your foiled hearts for interest. Use a contrasting color from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Celebrate Colors for the smaller hearts. I used red foil to tie in the stripe.

Add Sentiment, Embellishments, and Gift

Stamp a sentiment on a strip of cardstock. Use 3D Foam Strips (or Crafty Foam Tape) to adhere them to your pockets. Complete your pockets by embellishing them with small clay shapes, gems, or sequins, and secure them with the Adhesive Dots Micro. Lastly, add a tea or coffee packet inside of each pocket. Worried about it falling out? No problem! Secure it by adding an Adhesive Dot Large Repositionable on the back and tuck it in the pocket.

I hope you are inspired by today’s Sending Hugs Gift Pocket tutorial to make some of your own.

Happy Creating!
