Hi, Margie here today! With Father’s Day tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to share a masculine-themed card, HIYA Card, today that would fit any occasion. Add a spritz of ink and a bold sentiment, you have yourself an impactful card!
Create the HIYA Panel and Card Base
Fold a piece of 8.5 x 5.5 in. white cardstock in half to create a side fold A2-size (4.25 x 5.5 in.) card base. Trim the patterned paper to 4.25 x 5.5 in. to cover the card front and ink the edges with Distress Oxide Ink in Scorched Timber. Apply the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Dispenser to the back of the patterned paper card panel and adhere to the card base.
Designer’s Tip: Ink the edges of the patterned paper panel and card front with matching ink color. This helps to keep the edges uniform.
The Card Front Design
With Distress Oxide Spray in Scorched Timber, spritz the card panel for color and shine. When dried, add a film strip tape on the left side of the panel.
HIYA Sentiment
Die-cut the word “HIYA” with the 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small White. I used a bold font for a dynamic look. Center the letters onto the card front with a T-square ruler.
Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with 3D Foam Creative Sheets
Remove the top liner of the first letter and place the bronze foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors set over the exposed adhesive. Make sure the color side is facing you and gently rub/tap the color into the letter. Remove the foil to reveal the color – beautiful! Reapply foil in missed areas. Repeat the foiling steps on the rest of the letters.
