Hi, Judy here today! Do you keep pretty paper napkins in your craft stash? I do! I used a floral napkin to make these Unique Laminated Bookmark Duo. Because they are delicate, I used Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12in. to assist. I’m very happy with how they turned out and so easy that I plan to make more with other types of papers!
Unique Laminated Bookmark Duo Design
The printed layer of a paper napkin is very thin so to support it, I secured it to cardstock with Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12in. First, cut the adhesive sheet to 7 x 6 inches and remove the liner from one edge of Adhesive Sheet. Place it to the 7 x 6 inch piece of cardstock. Rub well with bone folder. Designer’s Tip: Choose a light color cardstock similar to background of napkin or white or cream.
Cut the napkin slightly bigger than 7 x 6 inches and remove its back layer. Peel the liner away from the cardstock, place the napkin on the adhesive and press in place.
Make the Bookmark and Sentiment
Die-cut two bookmarks from the napkin covered cardstock. Designer’s Tip: Instead of using a die, two rectangles 1.75 x 6 inches can be cut for bookmark. Place verse stamp in a stamp positioning tool and stamp on the back side of the bookmark with Fallen Leaves ink. Use heat tool to dry ink. Repeat steps for the second bookmark.
Laminate Bookmark
Remove one laminate card piece from the Self-Laminating Pouches – Cards Medium pack. Following directions on the package, position one bookmark in card towards hinge edge. Turn over the Self-Laminating Pouches – Cards Medium, lift the backing and peel the edge strip. Then partially peel liner and press laminate against the bookmark. Next, place the second bookmark in place and continue to peel liner from backing. Lastly, completely cover both bookmarks.
Rub laminate well with soft cloth or Teflon bone folder along all edges of bookmarks. Cut around each bookmark leaving about 0.125 – 0.25 inch border of clear laminate. Punch hole at top. Round corners with corner punch or scissors
Add the Finishing Touch
Cut a piece of seam binding or ribbon, loop through hole and knot the ends. One of the bookmarks shown with the verse is the back side.
