Sending Love Card with a Foiled Photo Corner Border

I love to use Creative Photo Corners in out-of-the-box ways. Today I have a card we used as a make and take at a recent retailer event. See how I use our Metallic Transfer Foil to make a foiled Photo Corner border. Take a look at how FAST and EASY this is!

Creating a Foiled Photo Corner Border

Sending Love Card with a Foiled Photo Corner Border by Beth Pingry for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Start with a standard sized cardstock card base, 5.5 wide x 4.25 inches with a top fold. Cut 1/2 inch off the front. For this example I kept the front a simple stamped sentiment to show off the foiled photo corner border technique.

When folded, the front will be 1/2 inch shorter than the back.

I’m using Black Creative Photo Corners, but you could use any of the colors we offer (Black, White, Ivory, Kraft, Gold, Silver). For the Metallic Transfer Foil, I’m working with the large silver pattern in the Holographic package. Any of the foil colors will work.

Cut two strips from the sheet of Creative Photo Corners. Fold the back liner, leaving the points covered by the liner, as shown above.

Apply the strip – not individual corners – to the inside front of the card. I found it’s easiest this way, the Creative Photo Corners stay perfectly lined up! Gently burnish the adhesive to the cardstock then pull away the liner.

Next add two corners from the second sheet, they fit perfectly across the card without the need to trim the edges.

Now you have exposed adhesive on the front of the card. Next up, Metallic Transfer Foil!

How to Add Metallic Transfer Foil

  1. Place the Metallic Transfer Foil sheet on top of the exposed adhesive, the ‘pretty’ side should be facing up.
  2. Gently burnish the foil onto the adhesive with your finger.
  3. Peel away the foil sheet.

Notice the color of the foil, it IS silver but it reflects colors beautifully. The rainbow of color you see in the photos are reflections from various lights and objects in the rooms where I shot the photos.

Ah, so pretty! Let’s add more! A strip of Crafty Power Tape across the bottom works perfectly with Metallic Transfer Foil.

We call this technique Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside, and you could use glitter, embossing powder, flock, micro beads, or other media on the adhesive. Metallic Transfer Foil is FAST and EASY, with no other tools required, no drying time, and no mess!

Do the same thing, remove the liner from the Crafty Power Tape, add the Metallic Transfer Foil pretty side up onto the adhesive, burnish lightly, then remove the foil sheet.

The sentiment is ‘Sending Love’ so of course, I have to use a 3D Foam Heart. Place it on the card front, remove the liner, add the Metallic Transfer Foil pretty side up, gently burnish and remove the foil sheet.

Voila!…Oh wait, I didn’t stop there. I took a black fine tip pen (pro tip: use a ruler!) and outlined the tape line and 3D Foam Heart to mimic the black outline on the Creative Photo Corners.

Apple Treat Bags Tutorial for Back to School

Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing a tutorial for sweet back to school apple treat bags. My daughter loves to bake and craft with me. The other day we baked sparkly apple granola bites and made personalized tags to share with her friends.

Apple Treat Bags for Back to School with Chalkboard Name Clips

The apple treat bags came with the baking mix, so I dressed up and I’m using some of my favorite go-to adhesives. A bright green ribbon and a small chalkboard name clip helped to give these sweet treats a special personalized touch.

A-peel-ing Embellishments

How to Use Repositionable Adhesive Dots to Seal Snack Bags

To begin, insert several apple bites or other sweet treats into the pre-made bag. Next, place an Adhesive Dot Large Repositionable on the backside of the bag. Finally, fold the top edge of the bag down over the Adhesive Dot and press to seal. This will keep the bag closed, but easy to open and reseal. Insert the treat into the apple print bag.

How to Adhere Ribbon with HomeHobby Extreme Double Sided Tape

Place your filled apple treat bags face down on a work surface. Apply Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch around the top edge of the bag. Then peel off the red liner and press the ribbon onto the adhesive to secure the ribbon.

Mini Chalkboard Name Clips for Back to School Snack Bags

Personalize chalkboard clips with names using a white paint pen. Apply a small heart sticker for a fun pop of color.

Apple-y Ever After

How to Use Adhesive Dots to Attach Tags to Back to School Treat Bags

Fold down the top edge of the treat bag and secure with a clothespin clip. Next, apply an Adhesive Dot Medium to the underside of a sentiment tag. Tuck the tag under the clip and press to seal.

Have fun passing these sweet treats out to friends. Give one to the teacher and move straight to the top of the class!

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial

Hello everyone! It’s Judy here today to share Layered Landscape Scene Card. This card tutorial has Thin 3D Foam Squares between the layers to create depth between the tree die cuts. Follow along to see how to make this card.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Inking the Background

Apply various green Distress Stains on two pieces of kraft cardstock. Make one darker and one lighter. Next die cut a tree line from each. Apply blue Distress Stains to kraft cardstock and add a touch of white stain. When dry, blend in touches of orange and yellow inks for sunset/sunrise. Cut the cardstock to 3.5 x 5.75 inches. Cut pieces of light brown card stock to make hills. Apply Distress Stains to each, and make some darker. Apply small amount of black along top edges for shadows.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Assemble the Layered Landscape Scene

These are the pieces ready to be assembled. Tip: Lay out your scene for placement of pieces. Use E-Z Dots® Repositionable Refillable Dispenser to temporarily hold the pieces in place. It’s easy to lift and move without damaging the papers.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place Thin 3D Foam Squares Black on the back of the darker treeline. Cut Foam Squares in smaller pieces to fit on trees. Adhere the trees over the sky background, towards the left edge of the background paper. Add small hill pieces over each edge of treeline using Thin 3D Foam Squares. Use more Thin 3D Foam Squares on the other tree line so its below and to right of the first tree line.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add Thin 3D Foam Squares Black to the backside of some of the landscape pieces and attach them across the base of trees. Stack two layers of Thin 3D Foam Squares at the lower edges to create more dimension.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Apply the final landscape piece in place. Use more Thin 3D Foam Squares Black along the bottom edge than I have shown in the photo.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Fasten 3.75 x 6-inch black cardstock to the front of the 4.25 x 6.5-inch olive card using E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser and E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser. Use Ultra Strong on corners and Dots Permanent along sides and center. Next use E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser to apply adhesive to the back of the scene. It’s immediately tacky and strong and especially good to hold paper inked paper flat. Attach the scene over black cardstock.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Finishing Details

Stamp “Have a Great Day” verse with black ink on kraft card stock and trim to size. Cut a slightly larger piece of black card stock for a mat and adhere the layers together using E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser.

Layered Landscape Scene Card Tutorial by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place Thin 3D Foam Squares Black on back of verse. Stack two Thin 3D Foam Squares as needed to compensate for different levels of the landscape. Fasten verse in place.

Gingerbread Organizer Notepad

Greetings! Shellye here today with a Christmas project to get you prepped for the upcoming holiday. Who can resist this adorable gingerbread organizer notepad? I promise you – it’s easy to create!

Gingerbread Organizer Notepad Instructions

To begin, I’ve taken two 5 x 7-inch legal notepads and sandwiched two together.

NOTE: Place the two pads so that the chipboard backing is on the front and back. I used Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/2in along the top band to hold the pads together.

At the juncture of the two pads, I attached patterned paper to create a divider. To the divider, I added one of the largest Keepsake Envelopes. Here I can store tags, gift cards, etc.

To the chipboard covers, I attached pieces of the Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch and then topped with patterned paper.

Embellishing the Cover

Now onto the cover! Mats of cardstock and patterned paper were added to the front with the Crafty Foam Tape White.

To embellish the cover, I made this cute Christmas tree made of Creative Photo Corners White. Cut a triangular from a piece of paper. Using the triangle as a guide, arrange the photo corners as shown in the image. Add Ric Rac trim to the tree with Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8in.

Place the gingerbread man from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit on top of the tree. To embellish him, remove the top liner and sprinkle brown glitter on top. Press your finger into the glitter to secure and then tap off excess.

I love little notepads for jotting down recipes to try, decorating ideas and wish lists! This gingerbread organizer notepad is a quick and easy project for craft bazaars and gifts.

Thank you for joining me today!

Card with Hidden Gift Card Pocket

Hi, everyone! Looking for a unique way to give a gift card to someone for their birthday? Make a card with a hidden pocket!

Card with Hidden Gift Card Pocket Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Making the Gift Card Pocket

Creating a card with a hidden pocket is so easy! Start by creating a card base. Cover the card with a patterned paper. Not a fan of patterned paper? Do what I did! Use a stencil to create a pattern with ink on cardstock.

Card with Hidden Gift Card Pocket Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Take a Keepsakes Envelope and cut a piece of patterned paper to fit inside it. Slide the patterned paper into the pocket. Then use a paper trimmer to cut away the pocket’s flap. Adhere the pocket onto your card.

Take a piece of double-sided tape and apply it onto the card, directly over the pocket. Remove the liner and burnish some foil onto it.

Card with Hidden Gift Card Pocket Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Now, apply one more piece of double-sided tape onto the card. Remove the liner and burnish some more foil onto it.

Card with Hidden Gift Card Pocket Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Before we go on with the card, here’s a quick tip for storing your sheets of Metallic Transfer Foil. Use a page protector for storage. Add a piece of cardstock or cardboard to the page protector and slide the foil sheets into it. I find this helps keep them nice, crisp and from getting damaged.

Finishing the Card

Now, back to the card. Stamp a sentiment on a strip of cardstock. You’ll also want to stamp, die-cut and color an image your card. Adhere them to the card with Thin 3D Foam Squares.

Complete your card by writing a message in the card and adding a gift card to your pocket. This pocket is also perfect for cash and gift certificates!

Give Thanks – Scrapbooking Fall with Dimension

Welcome back, scrapbooking friends! Tracy here, and today I have a little fall themed inspiration for you today. This layout features dimension and texture and all my go-to adhesives to get it done. Here are the details on this Fall Dimension layout.

Summer isn’t quite finished, but I am definitely looking forward to cooler weather and the changing of seasons. I created this layout with that love of fall in mind. Lots of distressed edges and warm tones sums up my Fall Dimension layout.

Scrapbook for Fall with Dimension by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Let’s Get Started

Start by adhering the distressed patterned paper layered background using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser. The E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser will make sure your layout’s base will be strong enough to hold heavier embellishments and layers.

Scrapbook for Fall with Dimension by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I matted the photo in two layers of cream cardstock with distressed edges. Then adhered the layers together using E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser and then added it to the layered background using Crafty Foam Tape White. The Fall Dimension layout is starting to shape up. Now it’s time for embellishing.

The resin frame in the image above would be one of the tricky things I added to this layout. I used Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8in to add the patterned paper sentiment to the back of the frame, and it worked perfectly. Then used two layers of 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size, to get it just above the matted photo.

Scrapbook for Fall with Dimension by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using Adhesive Dots Medium, I began adding the flowers and leaves around the matted photo and resin frame. Then used Adhesive Dots Mini for adding those slightly smaller embellishments like buttons and ribbon twists. These are the pieces that will make the Fall Dimension layout pop!

Tags with Flowers and Hearts – Tutorial

Hi everyone, Christine here today with a tutorial for tags with Flowers and Hearts. Each month I meet up with some craft-loving friends and we exchange little gifts. I like to personalize my gifts with special tags and it is easily achievable with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®!

Making the Tag Bases

Select pretty patterned papers and kraft luggage tags. Cut the papers to size and affix into place with E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. These dispensers have 150 feet of long-lasting adhesive, and when it’s gone you can easily drop in a refill. There is a quick video to use them below.

Determine your tag design. My tag layout is fairly simple. Next, cut pieces of patterned paper. I used the reverse of the floral paper. Position and affix to create a block across the bottom of each tag.

A perfect way to enhance your tags is to add Kraft Creative Photo Corners. These are self-adhesive and embossed. You’ll find them in a variety of colors including white, which you can ink to customize the color to your projects.

Embellish with Flowers and Hearts

For the main design elements, I die-cut leaves, flowers and hearts. Start by adding the heart die cut as the base of the tag embellishments. You can use a combination of 3D Foam Squares White Mix in regular and small sizes to secure it to the base and give it a pop of dimension.

Tags with Hearts and Flowers Tutorial by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Make sure to ink the flowers and leaves to match the color scheme in the tags. Then begin layering the die cuts starting from the flowers and leaves. Don’t forget to add a pearl to each flower center.

Here are the finished tags with some handwritten inspirational words, perfect for my craft loving friends.

Make a Dotted Card with 3D Foam Circles

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a happy colored card with lots of dots: stamped dots, glittered 3D Foam Circles and rhinestone “dots”. With the great Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products, this card is really easy to make and embellish.

Dotted Card with 3D Foam Circles by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Yes…let me show you how to “Wear your Adhesive on the Outside!” with this card! That’s where I use Adhesives as embellishments instead of hiding them between layers.

Dotted Card Step-Outs

First stamp text circles onto a rectangle piece of white cardstock using a black ink pad.

Then color the circles in pastel colors with markers.

Next, trim a piece of blue patterned cardstock to a rectangle size that is slightly smaller than the top layer.

Now adhere the stamped top layer onto the blue panel using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Dotted Card with 3D Foam Circles by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Step 1

Wrap beige ribbon around the panel and adhere the ends to the back of the panel using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Dotted Card with 3D Foam Circles by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Step 2

Then trim a folded piece of cardstock to make a card base and adhere the panel on top, using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Embellished Details

Cut out an old photo using scissors and adhere it onto a slightly larger rectangle-shaped die-cut using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Adhere the photo panel onto the card front using 3D Foam Squares Regular Size.

Dotted Card with 3D Foam Circles by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Step 3

Next, adhere a bow to the card with Adhesive Dots Large. Adhesive Dots are provide a strong hold without staining!

Dot the Card

Now it’s time to dot the card! Start by randomly adding White 3D Foam Circles on the card front. Remove the liners one at a time and sprinkle different colors of glitter to the top of each dot. Press with your finger to secure and tap off the excess between colors.

Dotted Card with 3D Foam Circles by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Step 4

Adhere rhinestones to the card using Adhesive Dots Micro and finish the card with a “Be Your Beautiful Self” sticker sentiment.

And voila…your Dotted Card is ready. I hope you are inspired to make your own version of this card. Happy crafting!

Foiled Dot Mandala Bud Vase Centerpiece

Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing how to use Adhesive Dots and Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets to create a mandala bud vase centerpiece.

Foiled Adhesive Dot Mandala Flower Bud Vase Centerpiece by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I’m always looking for fun ways to “Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside,” which means using it as an embellishment, not hiding it between layers. This lustrous dot mandala pattern brings a fantastic pop of color to my décor.

Foiled Adhesive Dot Mandala Flower Bud Vase Centerpiece

I started this project with a wood flower hanging. It made a great sturdy base for this centerpiece project. You can see I upcycled some old glass mist bottles into bud vases. The colored Metallic Transfer Foil adds a touch of sparkle to this piece.

Make the Bud Vase Base

How to Upcycle Clearsnap Smooch Spritz Mist Bottles into Bud Vases

To begin, look around the house for items that would create a sturdy centerpiece. Any block of scrap wood or a wood slice will work. If empty misters aren’t in your stash, try using an old perfume bottle or other piece of decorative glass.

Next, use an electric drill and bit to create holes to hold the glass bud vase, or vases, depending on your design. Three holes drilled with a 9/16th bit work for my design. You can vary the depth of holes so that each bud vase sits at a different height.

How to Apply Adhesives Dots to Wood

Apply Metallic Transfer Foil to the Base

Gather several sizes of Adhesive Dots and apply them to the wood base in a mandala pattern.

How to Apply Metallic Trasnfer Foil to Adhesives Dots

Then, apply Metallic Transfer Foil over the adhesive. This teal color is part of the Variety Colors.

Designer Tips: Work in sections, one color of foil at a time. Press the foil onto the adhesive, colored side up, and rub to transfer the foil. Then, quickly remove the sheet, like tearing off a band-aid.

How to Create a Foiled Mandala Centerpiece Using Adhesive Dots and Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets

Repeat this process until all the Adhesive Dots on the base are foiled.

Finish the Mandala Bud Vases

Foiled Adhesive Dot Mandala Flower Bud Vase Centerpiece

Fill the empty mist bottles with water and insert them into the drilled holes. Add a flower to each bud vase and enjoy!

Making Monogram Luggage Tags with Foil

Hello! Judy here today to share Holographic Monogram Luggage Tags. This project idea popped into my mind as I was packing to take a trip. Why not make some pretty luggage tags so I could quickly spot my suitcase? These are so easy to make that I made three for my travel friends!

Making Monogram Luggage Tags with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Monogram Luggage Tags Steps

Grab some fun beachy papers that work well with the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors in Gold. I cut three pieces of patterned paper to 2⅜ x 3¾-inches to fit inside the tags. The Self-Laminating Tags with Loops come in 4 colors. I’m using green, yellow and blue to coordinate with my paper.

Making Monogram Luggage Tags K with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Now apply Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch to both sides of white cardstock for the letters. Cut each paper into small pieces to fit on a die and then die cut. Remove the liner from the backside of each letter and place them on the patterned papers.

Making Monogram Luggage Tags A with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Next remove the liner from the front of each letter, being careful not touch the adhesive. Place the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors in Gold with the color side up, onto the adhesive letter and rub well. You could use a Teflon bone folder for that step. Lift the Transfer Foil sheet off to reveal a pretty gold foiled letter!

Making Monogram Luggage Tags L with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The next step to make your monogram luggage tags is to place each monogram sheet in a Self-Laminating Tag. Center and hold the paper against the clear front of the tag. Then remove the liner and carefully smooth the paper in place. I like to burnish the edges well with a bone folder for good adhesion. Add the loop to the tag to finish it.

How to Use Self-Laminating Tag Video

See how pretty the back sides of the tags are! The patterned paper shows through the tinted back of each tag. Now just to add one to your luggage, backpack or tote bag!
