I have an idea on how to upcycle holiday cards to make a sweet scrapbook layout. Happy 2018 crafty friends! Tracy here, and today I have a fun little layout tutorial that helps you upcycle some of those Christmas cards you received.

Upcycle those cards!
First, you are going to gather the cards that you don’t mind upcycling.

From two cards, I cut title pieces that will end up being the title on my layout. I also cut strips from cards that had full patterned borders because you want these to be at least 6″ long.

Using Extreme Double Sided Tape 1/8in., I took those strips to create patterned paper straws. Depending on the thickness of the cardstock, you might have to use a pen or pencil to help shape it.

Using a 2″ circle punch I cut out pretty patterned bits from a variety of cards, then cut them in half on my trimmer. These become the scalloped border at the top and bottom of my layout using the E-Z Runner Permanent Fine runner.

I added Creative Photo Corners in Kraft to my matted photo and then popped it up off of the layout and above the patterned straws using 2 layers of 3D Foam Squares.

Add the title pieces using 3D Foam Squares.

Add a few more embellishments as your final touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
