Hello, Shellye McDaniel here today to share this adorable Patriotic Elephant Treat Box made from an upcycled K-cup box.
Patriotic Elephant Treat Box Tutorial Video
First, I have a how-to video tutorial of how I covered the box. I use a K-Cup coffee box; any size will do!
I suggest that you deconstruct the box and then cover it with paper, although I left the box intact and then covered it here.
Patriotic Elephant Treat Box Details
For the front part of the box, I use a light grey cardstock paper and Adhesive Sheets 12×12 inch.
Next, trace around the edges of the box onto the papers and adhesive. To create the “wrinkles” in the trunk, punch small holes and thread through baker’s twine.
For the ears, layer two die-cut hearts and attach to the top (back) of the box with the Dual Tip Glue Pen. Slightly fold the ears in half to lend a better “ear” shape!
For the eyes, use two oval shapes (1″ and 1.5″) and attach the blue piece with 3D Foam Squares, White, Regular size. Then score the very bottom (about 1/8″) of the white oval and attach with Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8in.
Finally, embellish the bottom with coordinating patterned paper and handmade flowers. The inside of the Patriotic Elephant Treat Box can be filled with goodies and used as a fun decoration or gift box!
