Hello creative friends, Judy here! I am sharing a birthday card idea inspired by a photo my sister took. This photo inspired birthday card came about when my mom asked me to print a photo of their flag. She wanted to use it as a card for a friend who’s a veteran. Of course, I couldn’t just let her give it as is. So I made a quick card with it. It’s super easy!
Photo Inspired Birthday Card Step Outs
To make this card, I used a white 5 x 7-inch horizontal fold card base. On top of the card base, I layered patterned paper cut slightly smaller secured with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser with E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Dots Refill. I love that you can easily pop in and out the adhesive refills!

The photo is fastened to a red mat before layering it onto the card. E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser with the E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Dots Refill was used to apply adhesive to both. A triangle of red cardstock with a star brad is fastened to top left corner.
Next, stamp the birthday sentiment with black ink on white card stock and die cut. I fussy cut a red mat to fit behind it for a finished look. Then fastened the red mat, using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser with the E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Dots Refill. To add a nice dimension behind the sentiment, I cut a small piece of Crafty Foam Tape White for perfect placement!
