Hi, friends! Looking for a unique way to tell your Valentine you love them? Teri here, and I’ve got a fun idea for you. I’m going to show you how to make some tiny love notes that you can leave in their lunchboxes, around the house and just about anywhere you can think of!

Make the Love Note Base
Start by cutting several large hearts from cardstock and patterned paper scraps. You’ll need two cardstock hearts for each note, as well as an assortment of patterned paper hearts. (Please note that all the hearts should all be the same size!)

Take several of the patterned paper hearts and cut them into fragments.

Then randomly adhere the patterned paper pieces onto your solid hearts.

Embellishing Details
Add some twine to one of the hearts by placing several Adhesive Lines on it and then putting twine right on top.

Create a “faux” chipboard word by cutting several “love” words from cardstock. Stack them on top of each other and adhere them together before placing the word on your card.

Take a cardstock heart and add a score line along the corner. Fold the score line back and forth and then mount the heart to the back of one of your decorated hearts.

Complete your love note by punching a hole through the top of it and bringing some twine or ribbon through the hole.

Open your note and write a message for your loved one!

Changing Things Up in a Variety of Love Notes
You can create a variety of notes like the first one but change the design to make each one different.
Rather than decorating the heart with twine, use ribbon instead. Both patterned ribbons and solid ribbons work well!

Instead of using a die-cut word, stamp a sentiment on cardstock. Embellish the heart by adding a button to it!

Want your stamped sentiment to really pop? Use Thin 3D Foam Squares to affix it to your loved note. For added emphasis, place some twine near the sentiment strip!

Finally, avoid using twine on a love note. Decorate the heart with a stamped sentiment and a few embellishments. You can use sequins, gems and pre-made embellishments or make you own with 3D Foam Hearts. Simply affix a heart (or two) to your love note and then apply flock, glitter or foil!

With a little creativity, the possibilities are endless!

Happy creating!
