Foiled Stamped Background

Hello crafty friends! Tracy here and today I have a fun little card to share. My tutorial will show you just how I got this foiled stamped background. Here are all of the details.

Let’s Play With Foil

First I gathered a few things to start the Foiled Stamped Background. I used this 6×6 background cling stamp from Hero Arts, red cardstock and the yellow foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Pastel Colors.

Getting Started

Stamp the entire image onto the red cardstock using an embossing pad and Ranger’s Sticky Embossing Powder. This process needs to happen quickly while the embossed area is all still warm. Press the yellow foil firmly onto the heated embossed areas. You can reheat any areas that do not stick right away.

Once satisfied with your foil coverage of the Foiled Stamped Background, cut it down to 3.75×5. Then mat that with black cardstock. Added the card front to the back cardstock using Creative Photo Corners Gold. Adhere the card front to the white cardstock A2 card base using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Stamp the sweet images onto white cardstock using black ink. I added color to the images using Zig Clean Color Markers and a water brush. Fussy cut out the images.

Stamp the card sentiment onto black cardstock using an embossing pad and gold embossing powder. Adhere the sentiment to the Foiled Stamped Background using Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix. Add the kittens to either side of the sentiment using 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Adhere the other smaller images around the kittens using Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix.

Take Me Somewhere Travel Card Set

Prep for the Travel Card Set

Just a little bit of prep work to make the process run smoothly. First, trim the patterned papers to fit the die and run them through the die-cutting machine. Coordinate a patterned paper mat and fold white cardstock into card bases. Pick out accent and sentiment stickers.

Assembling the cards

1. Cut the mat and use the cutting die to create the snail mail card cover.
2. Add Crafty Foam Tape 108′ to the back of the mat and adhere to the white cardstock base.
3. Apply the 3D Foam Strip White Large behind each perforated section as shown in the photo.
4. Place the stickers on the card front with 3D Foam Squares White Mix. Add the sentiment stickers using the 3D Foam Strips. Designer Tip: use the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser to keep the twine from moving once it was tied to the card.

I loved how this travel card set turned out! With the 3D Foam Strips White Large behind each perforated section, it gives the card front a pop of dimension. So fun! Hope you give these strips a try.

Glittered Stars Love Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a CAS Glittered Love Card. The E-Z Runner Stars is such a great and easy way to add a fun accent to a card. This Glittered Love Card card is so easy to make that it’s also suitable for beginner cardmakers!

Shall we make this card together?

Making the Top Card Panel

First, trim a piece of white cardstock to a rectangular size. Then make a circle using green ink and an ink blending tool.

Then bend the word love from aluminum wire. Make a loop on both ends of the word.

Then attach a piece of white silk ribbon to the word ends and adhere the ends to the back of the card using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Making the Card Base

Adhere the card panel onto a lilac card panel using 3D Foam Strips. This creates an unlifting element to the card. Next, adhere to a white card base using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Embellishing the Glittered Love Card

Adhere some mulberry leaves and flowers onto the top card panel using Adhesive Dots.

Then adhere some E-Z Runner® Stars Refillable Dispenser onto the card below the mulberry flowers. For the glittered effect on the Love card, sprinkle some lilac glitter upon. Rub the glitter for secure affixing. Tap of the excess glitter or use a soft brush to do so. This technique, making your adhesive shine, is called wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. Next adhere some E-Z Runner® Stars Refillable Dispenser above the word “Love”and sprinkle silver glitter upon. Again rub the glitter and remove the excess glitter.

And voilá your Glittered Stars Love Card is ready.

Fun With Foil Slimline Card

Let’s have some fun with foil! Hi, Jamie here with you today sharing a heart slimline card that uses foil, glitter, and embossing powder. Are you ready to try a unique technique?

Having Fun with Foil

Apply a sheet of Adhesive Sheets 4×6″ on top of a piece of white cardstock, keeping the top liner on, die-cut with the heart dies.

Next, cut a piece of foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Pastel Colors, a little larger than the heart that you are going to cover, then wad up the foil and roll it in your hands before opening it, this is what you’ll get.

Remove the liner from the heart and place the foil on top, color side UP, and gently rub the foil with your fingertips to transfer the color. Peel off to reveal a marbled look. The exposed adhesive (the white wrinkles) will be sticky so either a different color foil or use glitter, fun flock or even embossing powder to fill those areas.

Foil the three other hearts with a solid color. Aren’t they beautiful?!

Assembling the Card

Die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a slimline die as the card panel. Then place the four hearts on top and secure them with E-Z Squares® Refillable Dispenser. The first heart uses solid pink foil, the blue and pink hearts are embossed with embossing powder and the last heart uses pink foil and the marbling technique with Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter to fill in the cracks.

Three hearts will be popped up using 3D Foam Circles White Mix and placed in between the hearts on the panel.

An additional blue heart was attached flat below the little green popped-up heart. Die-cut a second larger panel from the same slimline die set and pop up the heart panel using 3D Foam Circles White Mix.

The Final Touches

Stamp the words on white cardstock with black ink cut them into strips and adhere to the card front with the E-Z Squares® to attach them flat to the bottom panel.

Lift the layered card panel using 3D Foam Circles White Mix onto a slightly larger pink panel. I stamped it with pink splatter spots. Next, attach the panel to a white slimline card.

Lastly, place a few pink enamel dots around the hearts and on the larger white panel.

Mixed Media Mini Book

Today I have a mixed media mini book to show you. For me, this was a joy to make! I love to make books! There are lots of products on this book including NEW Metallic Foils plus bits and pieces of patterned and gel printed papers used as collage. I give you a little tour of it below.

The book is about 3.5 inches square and has an accordion fold binding made from cardstock. Cardboard covered with gel printed papers fastened with Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch form the covers. Decorate a coordinating sleeve made from cardstock to protect the book. Wrap seam binding around the sleeve and attach it with Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/2in on each side. It ties to hold the book inside.

Mixed Media Mini Book Front Cover

To make letters for “Story”, die cut 3D Foam Creative Sheets Mix(black) with cardstock on one side, peel liner and fasten to book cover. For the gold accents, use Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors applied over stamped images that are heat embossed with sticky powder. It’s a fun technique! The stars are from E-Z Runner® Stars Refillable Dispenser and covered with gold foil. Do you see the photo corners that point to the title? Layers of several Creative Photo Corners Black form an arrow with some aqua foil on them. To do this, rub embossing ink over them, cover with sticky embossing powder, heat to activate and then rub Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Pastel Colors (aqua) over them. Use that same technique of foil over sticky embossing powder to stamped circles and grid.

Peek into Individual Pages

The background of each mini book page is a collage of gel print or other collage papers held in place with glue from Dual Tip Glue Pen. The words are from my stash of pre-stamped and heat embossed words. On this page, it’s white embossing on black cardstock. 3D Foam Strips Black hold the words in place. Tiny foil covered 3D Foam Squares Micro Black curve across the page to words. An open star from 3D Foam Stars has gold foil applied to it.

On page two apply 3D Foam Strips Black to back of words and fasten. Add 3D Foam Strips Black under the words and cover with foil

On this page, apply stars with E-Z Runner® Stars Refillable Dispenser and cover with aqua and copper foil. Place a few 3D Foam Squares Micro Black at bottom corner and cover with copper foil. Stamp random images with black ink. Fasten words with 3D Foam Strips Black

Foiled circles are same as described for cover. Stamp grid designs over page with black ink. Stars are done same as described for cover and previous page. Fasten an open star from 3D Foam Stars over one of aqua stars and apply bronze foil from Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors. Fasten words with 3D Foam Strips Black. Rub blue ink over two fastened together Creative Photo Corners White and stick in place on page. Add a strip of 3D Foam Strips Black above photo corners and apply bronze foil over it.

Similarly, this page has circles and alphabet stamped on background that have foil over them. Fasten words with 3D Foam Strips Black. Add 3D Foam Squares Micro Black to top and bottom corners and cover with bronze foil.

Back Cover of the Mixed Media Mini Book

On back mini book cover use same techniques to stamp images, emboss with sticky powder and press foil onto it. Stamp some random images with black ink.

The Matching Book Sleeve

The mini book slides into the sleeve to protect it. Gold metallic marker gives the book spine a pretty sheen.

Foiled Alcohol Ink Background

Hello, cardmaking and crafty friends! Tracy here, and today I have a fun little technique to share that I used on this Father’s Day card. Father’s Day is fast approaching and I often struggle to find ways to create masculine cards. This foiled alcohol ink background is completely customizable and perfect for such an occasion. Here are all of the details.

Let’s Get Crafty

To start creating the foiled alcohol ink background you will need glossy photo paper and your chosen ink colors. Add drops of ink and smear them to create a blended background. Then add drops, these will move the background ink and create the pretty blobs.

This next step of the foiled alcohol ink background takes some patience and perhaps some practice. You need to wait for the ink to dry mostly, just leaving portions of the “rings” of ink tacky to the touch. At this point is when you will add the foil. The foil will stick only to the tacky ink.

Here you can see the areas where the foil has adhered. I end up cropping this 4×6 piece down to 3.75×5.

Mat the cropped foiled alcohol ink background in navy cardstock and add to the white cardstock A2 base using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

Stamp the Father’s Day sentiment onto black cardstock using an embossing pad and silver embossing powder. Then trim the sentiment piece down to 3.75″ in length and add to the bottom of the card front using Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix. I also added a couple of coordinating gems for a little more dimension and shine.

Vintage-Inspired Butterfly Cards

Hi, everyone! Got some old recipe cards you aren’t using? How about a few pages from an old book? Teri here to show you how to use paper ephemera to make some fun, vintage-inspired butterfly cards!

Die-Cut & Embellish for the Butterfly Cards

Start by die-cutting several butterflies from old recipe cards and bingo cards, as well as old book pages. Old papers can be fragile. I find cutting them with actual dies and manual die-cutting machines works best for this technique rather than doing it digitally or with a paper punch.

Take a couple of butterflies and apply E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser along some of the edges. For a more distressed look, use your fingers to randomly rub off some of the adhesives. Next, place the fine glitter gold foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors on top of the adhesive color side UP and gently rub with your fingertip to transfer the color.

Cut a few more butterflies from patterned paper. Place 3D Foam Squares White Mix behind your paper ephemera butterflies. Don’t be afraid to cut the foam adhesive up to make it fit. BTW, we also have 3D Foam Squares Micro (1/8-inch squares) but I didn’t have any in my stash (note to self: need to order those – lol!). Layer the butterflies together.

To give one of your butterflies interest, flip it over and apply some E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser to it. Then randomly add gold string or thread on it.

Assembling your Butterfly Cards

Make your card base and cover it with patterned paper. Adhere the butterflies to it. Add more butterflies you desire, as well as more foil. Stamp a sentiment on cardstock. Complete your card by securing the sentiment and a few sequins with Adhesive Dots Micro!

Use Leftovers as Backgrounds for Butterfly Cards

You can use the old papers you cut your butterflies out of on the cards too!

I covered a card with patterned paper and cardstock before adding the leftover book page. Due to the fragile nature of the book page, I applied E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser onto my card base and then added the book page to it. Normally, I put adhesive on paper and then place it onto the card.

I added butterflies to each of the book page’s openings!

Coffee Lover Cup Card by Margie Higuchi

Hello and welcome! It’s Margie to celebrate the Spring/Summer 2022 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with the Coffee Lovers Community and you! Today, I’d like to share a card with soft touches of florals in my square coffee cup card. Grab a cuppa and see how I put it together!

Coffee Lover Cup Card Prep

First, I cut card panel layers to create my foundation. The card base is a top-fold 5.5-inch square purple cardstock. The patterned paper panel is a 5.25-inch square and the dark purple square measures 4.75-inches. For the cream cardstock, I changed my mind and die-cut a piece of dusty rose with the largest Fluted Square die which measures 4.5-inches.

For the coffee cup, I die-cut the cup three different times. One each in patterned paper, dark purple cardstock, and cream cardstock. Then trim the tabs off as I will not be needing them. The handle was die-cut with dark purple and cream cardstock but kept the tabs on them.

One way to use scrap patterned papers is to die-cut small shapes like these sweet florals and leaves.

Stack the Layers

For the card panels, I used the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong because these panels are heavy-weight papers.

Assemble the Coffee Cup

I wanted to offset the cup and handle shapes with the cream and dark purple so I used the Dual Tip Glue Pen. It gives me “wiggle” room to move them. Plus one of the tips is narrow so I can dot the glue in narrow areas. Then I adhere the solid cup patterned paper piece in the back and lastly, attached the handle on the right side.

While the glue dries, I die-cut the “Coffee” and “Lover” words on dark purple cardstock and cut them into strips. For the dusty rose cardstock, I cut them the same height as the word strips but a little long for a shadow effect on the ribbon tail end.

I adhered the strips together with the E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser. Designer’s Tip: I use the permanent dots adhesive to my die-cut shapes as the dots hit the areas where it needs the adhesive and skip over the openings.

To secure the coffee cup, I used a combination of the Crafty Foam Tape 108ft, Thin 3D Foam Squares Small and cut up 3D Foam Circle Frames, and 3D Foam Strips in White (see the handle). I love the 1mm height on the Crafty Foam Tape 108ft and Thin 3D Foam Squares…so subtle for layers!

Florals on the Cup Card

Using a combination of Adhesive Dots in Mini and Small, I adhered the floral die-cut shapes around the top of the coffee cup. Next, I placed the leaves with the same combination of Adhesive Dots. To finish, I center the Dew Drops in Lavender on each of the florals.

The Finishing Elements

Instead of a flower to secure the sentiment, I die-cut the heart and its outline in dark purple and dusty rose cardstock which was adhered with the Dual Tip Glue Pen. Setting that aside to dry, I assemble the sentiment words together with the Adhesive Lines. Lastly, I added 3D Foam Circle Large to the back of the heart and added all to the center of the cup.

Missing You Butterfly Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a Butterfly card. With Adhesive Dots, it’s super easy to adhere small items onto your card, such as tiny butterflies. This card is super easy to make so also suitable for beginner cardmakers. Wanna join me in making the card?

Making the Card Base

First, emboss a piece of white cardstock. Place a piece of white cardstock in an embossing folder and run through your die-cutting (follow the embossing sandwich recommended by its manufacturer). Trim the cardstock to the desired size. Next, adhere it to a soft grey card panel using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser and then to a white card base.

Making the Butterflies

For my card, I die-cut the butterflies. Designer’s Tip: if you do not own a butterfly die, you could also use a butterfly punch. Next, place Adhesive Dots Micro to the back of the butterflies. Remove the liner and adhere to the card base.

Add as many butterflies as you like.

Embellishing the Card

To add an extra element to the butterflies, I add a pearl to the butterflies. Then I adhered a Missing You sentiment sticker onto a piece of soft grey cardstock. Lastly, adhere to the card using Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix for dimension.

And voilá your butterfly card is ready. Wasn’t that super easy to make?

Good Vibes Ribbon, Card & Tag Ensemble

Hi, Connie here with a three-piece Good Vibes ensemble created for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L’s booth at NAMTA/Creativation 2022 Trade Show. It is fun to get that thinking cap on and come up with a coordinating project set to be displayed at the show! I added “Award Winning Adhesives” in my ensemble and you’ll see the “why” in my projects.

Good Vibes Ensemble Instructions

Creating the Ribbon Badge

A little prep work is needed to begin assembling this beauty in the Good Vibes Ensemble!
1. Apply the Adhesive Sheets 4×6 on the white cardstock by burnishing it well to transfer the adhesive on the cardstock. Next, place the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet/Pastel Color, shiny side up on the cardstock. Gently rub with your finger to transfer the color. Peel it away to see the “magic!” Now it’s ready to run through a die-cutting machine.
2. Cut 1/2 (to 1/4) x 6″ strips of patterned paper. Depending on how full you want the tail, depends on how many to cut. I also pick out ephemera pieces.
3. Add 3D Foam Squares White Small and a 3D Foam Strip to the purse shape. Then add foil to the foam adhesives by repeating the foiling steps.

Assemble the Ribbon Badge

1. Layer the strips of paper and staple them together so they can be attached to the back of the ribbon badge.
2. Stack the award circle shapes from the largest to the smallest. Add a 3D Foam Square between each layer for more dimension and interest. Alter between patterned papers and foiled papers to get a mix of colors.
3. Add the embellished purse with the 3D Foam Squares White Mix. Add word stickers, for flags, using Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/2″.
4. Use Premium Double-Sided Tape 1″ to attach the adhere the strips to the back of the award badge.

Create the Good Vibes Card

Now for the anchor to the Good Vibes Ensemble, prepping the card. It’s easy! Cut more strips of paper using the same pattern paper from the collection. These strips are 1″ to 1/2″ in size Length is 5″. I cut eight and then layered them. You will need two (one for the tent card up next) small award badges that are created using a punch. Stickers for the focal of the card.

1. Use the EZ Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser to adhere the mat to a folded card base. created out of the same patterned paper collection.
2. Alternate the EZ Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser with the 3D Foam Strips to create dimension for the card front.
3. Add the focal sticker along with the small foiled award badge, created earlier using a punch.
4. Add twine around the Pelican’s neck.

Set Up the Tag Tent

1. Select two tags from the pattern paper collection and tie them together using twine.
2. Add a decorative straw to each end, of the tags, with Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/2″. Adding the straws helps the tag tent to stay upright.
3. Add stickers and the second award badge foiled, to the front of the tag, using 3D Foam Squares White Mix.
4 Add a foiled 3D Foam Strip to the bottom of each tag. I used Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets/Pastel Colors.
