Hi everyone, Yvonne here with an easy to make yet gorgeous Christmas Nutcracker card. Nutcrackers are so cute to use on a Christmas card.
To make the card festive, glittered stripes are easy to create with adhesive and a technique called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. Let me show you how I made my nutcracker card.
Nutcracker Card Base
Start with a piece of white rectangle cardstock panel for the top layer. Tear strips of Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4in and place them horizontally onto the card panel. Trim any excess tape.
Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside
Remove the top liner from every third strip of tape and sprinkle green glitter over the exposed adhesive. Press and rub the glitter into the tape to secure it in place. Tap off excess.
Repeat the glitter application step with the gold and red glitter. This technique is called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. Creating embellishments with your adhesives instead of hiding behind layers.
Assemble the Layers
Use Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4in to adhere the glittered card panel onto a kraft card panel. Then adhere the layered panel onto a white card base.
Add Die Cuts and Shapes
First, die-cut and emboss a circle shape from red cardstock. Then cut a straight edge of the circle piece on the right-side. This is to off-set the circle to fit the card panel. Adhere onto the card using 3D Foam Squares Black Mix.
Let’s add several Christmas-themed images (nutcracker, horse, and bauble) onto the card using a combination of 3D Foam Squares Black Mix and Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix. This creates depth and interest in the shape for a more beautiful dimensional effect on your Nutcracker Christmas card.
Finally, finish the card by adhering sentiment on the card. Voila…your sparkling Christmas Nutcracker Card is ready!
I hope you enjoyed this short tutorial and wish you happy Christmas crafting!
