Hi, Erica here today to share an adorable shaker card! Valentine’s Day is coming up and I have an easy Life is Sweet Valentine Shaker Card you can create to share with your loved ones!

Life is Sweet Valentine Shaker Card Products
I gathered up one of my favorite Doodlebug Design collections, Lots of Love, with its stitched heart dies, card base, and Odds & Ends elements. You will also need some foam adhesive. I like using the 3D Foam Creative Sheets so I can cut my own strips. Or you can pick up some 3D Foam Strips which are 1/8″ in width…personal choice!

Create The Shaker Frame
You will need to create a frame for your shaker. I used two layering heart dies and some pattern paper from the Doodlebug Design Lots of Love collection. You will also need to run the larger heart die through your die-cutting machine to cut out two pieces of clear acetate or vellum.

Add Adhesive
Next, you will adhere one piece of the acetate to the back of the die-cut heart using the Dual Tip Glue Pen. Then add thin foam strips that I cut from the 3D Foam Creative Sheets to the back of the die-cut frame. I layered up my foam strips so the sequins had plenty of room to move around.

I find that if you remove both backing pieces from the foam it is easy to move it around the curves of the heart. Once you have your foam adhesive down you can fill the center with sequins. Take the second piece of adhesive and close up the shaker. You may need to trim off some of the acetate from the second piece if you have any of it showing when you flip your shaker over.
Add Pattern Paper

Trim some pattern papers to adhere to your card base using the 3L E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong. Next, adhere your shaker element to the center of your card base with the Dual Tip Glue Pen.
Finishing Touches

Once your shaker element is dry on your card base it is time to add some finishing touches. I used the Odds & Ends to create floral clusters on the shaker. The Dual Tip Glue Pen is the perfect adhesive to use for the leaves. I add a small amount at the ends of the leaves and tuck them behind the floral clusters. For my sentiment, I used one of the Chit Chat pieces and popped it up using the 3D Foam Squares White Mix.
