Together Dimensional Scrapbook Page

Hello, holiday loving crafty friends! Tracy here with a festive layout, Together Dimensional Scrapbook Page, to share. I love layouts with lots of dimension and texture. Let me share my tips and ideas.

Together Dimensional Scrapbook Page Made Easy

If you sometimes struggle to get dimensional elements adhered to your projects properly and to last, I have some tips on how to do just that.

Together Dimensional Scrapbook Page by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add texture to paper layers and the look of dimension without too much thickness. How? I like to separate paper layers with Crafty Foam Tape 108ft, it creates shadow and depth between layers.

For finishing touches are flowers and other embellishments, try using 3D Foam Squares White Mix and Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix to bring those embellishments up to the same level as the matted photo.

Together Dimensional Scrapbook Page by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Another option to secure flowers and buttons on a dimensional scrapbook layout is Adhesive Dots Micro and Adhesive Dots Medium.

Together Dimensional Scrapbook Page by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

For adhering photos, add Creative Photo Corners Black. This results in adding a unique texture without too much dimension. Lift the matted photo by using Crafty Foam Tape 108ft on the page. All of the flat layers are placed with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

I hope you try these tips on your next dimensional layout! Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays!

Fun Dome + Jar Gift Tags

Hi, Connie here with a couple of fun dome and jar gift tags that are easy to make and super cute. Inspired by a die set and the best adhesive for paper piecing, I’ll show you how to create them!

Fun Dome + Jar Gift Tags by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Dome + Jar Gift Tags Instruction

Fun Dome + Jar Gift Tags by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
  1. Supplies are simple. You will need the Dome Jar Shaker Cutting Dies, 3D Foam Squares Black Mix, Dual Tip Glue Pen, E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser and #12 tags/Kraft.
  2. Create a background on the tags (Brick Wall stencil) and cut the tags in half (adjust to size of focal die cut). Use the Dual Tip Glue Pen to adhere the small die cuts to the dome.
  3. Using Distress Oxide, color in the gum balls after you have stamped the image on white cardstock. I used a coordinating stamp set by Stampendous that has gum balls and sentiments that work perfect with the Dome Jar Shaker cutting Dies. The E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser to adhere the Dome to the tag.
  4. The gum balls are adhered with 3D Foam Squares Black Mix.
Fun Dome + Jar Gift Tags by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creating the Jar Gift Tag

  • 5. Repeating all the steps from the above list. Using the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser to adhere the mason jar to the tag.
  • 6. Using 3D Foam Squares Black Mix to adhere the stamped label and the heart die cuts. Highlight both dome and jar with white acrylic paint. Speckle each tag with white acrylic paint to give a snow effect.

Designer tip: When speckling a project, use a worn out toothbrush. Water the paint down and then using your thumb, spray the paint over the project. Very easy and you have control as to where the paint will go.

Happy New Year Celebration Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a sparkling Happy New Year Celebration Card. Can you believe we are getting close to 2021? So time to make cards to wish your loved ones a Happy New Year. And the best cards are the ones you made yourself.

Happy New Year Celebration Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Let me show you how I made this sparkling Happy New Year’s card using a technique called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside.

New Year Celebration Card Panel

Start by using a chalky inkpad and an ink blending tool to make a blue circle shape upon a dark blue card panel. Simply dab some ink onto the cardstock and move your ink blending tool circular (inward to outward) over the cardstock to create a perfect fading circle. Let the inked circle dry.

Happy New Year Celebration Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Then stamp with embossing ink the sentiment onto the blue circle. And next sprinkle sparkling embossing powder over the stamped Happy New Year sentiment. Then tap off any excess embossing powder. Now use a heating tool to melt the embossing powder and see the magic happen.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

For my Happy New Year card, I used a technique called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. It is a way to bring out your adhesive from in between layers to shine as an embellishment on your card.

Start by adhering the baubles, stars, and circle shapes from the 3D Foam Christmas Shapes set onto the card panel.

Happy New Year Celebration Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Remove the liner from the baubles shapes and cover with blue glitter. Gently rub the glitter onto the bauble to secure and tap off excess. Repeat the glitter application with the stars and circles (using gold, silver, and white glitter).

Then adhere mini bows onto the baubles using Adhesive Dots Micro.

For the finishing touch on the panel, I used gold ink and a pen to draw fun lines vertically over the card panel to create a party effect.

For the card base, simply adhere the card panel onto a kraft card base using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser. And…voila, your sparkling Happy New Year card is ready to wish someone a happy and sparkly 2021.

I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial on my New Year Celebration card. Wishing you happy crafting,
Yvonne van de Grijp

Yarn Tree Holiday Décor

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a festive tutorial for yarn trees. Yarn Trees are a fun and easy way to decorate for the holidays. I used everyday craft supplies and some of my favorite adhesive products to decorate foam cones to create Christmas décor for my home.

Yarn Tree Holiday Décor by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I designed my yarn trees using green products, but any color, size, or texture of yarn would look fantastic.

Decorating Yarn Trees with Adhesive

Yarn Tree Holiday Décor by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I used silver foil to decorate one yarn tree. The 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit with Foil includes 5 sheets of transfer foil: Gold, Silver, Blue, Red, Green. Decorate with one color or a festive mix! Try decorating yarn trees with 3D Foam designs for great dimension. Use them as design elements, with glitter, embossing powder, craft foils, and more.

Yarn Tree Holiday Décor by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Wear your adhesive on the outside! I filled this shaker star embellishment with mica flakes, but sequins or glitter would like just as good.

The birch round trunks add a realistic finish to these simple trees. Try sponging on white acrylic paint for a frosty finish.

Holiday Package Topper

Hello everyone! How are your holiday preparations going? I’m behind as usual but always have way more ideas of things to make than I have time! For example, this Holiday Package Topper can be made ahead to quickly add to a package at the last minute because it’s self-sticking! Let me show you!

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Holiday Package Topper Step Outs

Apply an Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch to the back of white cardstock and stamp an image with brown ink. Then add color and shading with watercolors. Next, die-cut the image with a 1.375-inch circle shape.

To create a mat behind the circled image, die-cut a 1.875-inch circle from a piece of dark red cardstock.

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Designer’s Tip: you can work ahead by stamping the center of the topper or use a decorative circle shape instead. Maybe on another day in front of the tv, cut a pile of greenery. Once the parts are ready, assembly is quite quick!

Remove the liner from the back of the image circle and secure it to the dark red circle.

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Apply a small amount of glue from the Dual Tip Glue Pen on scrap liner paper. Load the brush with glue to add over house roofs and some areas of snow. Sprinkle with glitter and shake off excess. Repeat as needed and set aside to dry.

The Greenery

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Apply an Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch to the back of Kraft cardstock and die-cut a 2.25-inch circle.

Color the circle with a technique of putting ink directly on a non-porous surface (glass mat), mist with water, and swiping the circle through the green ink.

Repeat the inking process with an extra 5.5 x 8.5-inch piece of Kraft cardstock. Add more color as needed with ink spray. Set aside to dry or use a heat tool.

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Die-cut foliage shapes for an assortment of greenery pieces. Use foam applicator to ink edges and stems with dark brown ink. Note I used the reverse side of the inked paper for brown twigs.

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place several Adhesive Dots Medium Ultra Thin on the center of the inked green circle. Arrange foliage pieces around the edge alternating different types. Repeat until the base circle is covered.

Use color drops to make berries red. To apply berry branches, use Adhesive Dots Micro on its ends to the inked circle. Don’t worry about the adhesive showing as it will be covered by the center image.

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Finishing the Package Topper

Add four 3D Foam Circles White Mix in regular size on the back of the image circle piece. Remove liners from all and stack another on each of the four for a double layer. Next, remove the liners and adhere on top of the foliage circle.

Holiday Package Topper by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

All that’s left is to remove the liner and attach it to a package!

Button Snowflake Card

Hello holiday crafters! Tracy here, and today I have a fun little tutorial to share on how to create this simple Button Snowflake Card. This card features products that you probably already have in your craft room. Here are all of the fun details.

Button Snowflake Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Button Snowflake Card Made Simple

Start your creation by making a simple layered background using white cardstock. Cut a 6 x 6-inch card base from a 6 x 12-inch cardstock. Then cut a 5.5 x 5.5-inch layer and distress all four sides. Use the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser to adhere the layers together. This will create a good solid base for the buttons and gems for this Button Snowflake Card.

Cover the chipboard sentiment using white embossing powder and set it aside for now.

Button Snowflake Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Snowflake Button Design

Dig into your button collection to find the buttons you want to use for the button snowflake card design. Lay the buttons out on the card front. Start adding the buttons using Adhesive Dots Mini and Adhesive Dots Medium Ultra Thin.

Once I had started adhering the buttons, I realized I also wanted to add a little sparkle. Then I began adding some gems also.

Button Snowflake Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Once the Button Snowflake Card front has fully adhered, I added the chipboard sentiment using Adhesive Dots Micro. Now it’s ready to send!

Elf Emma with Foiled Lights Card

Hi Crafty Friends, Meghan Kennihan here and I am so excited to be back for another creation! Today, I am sharing a fun Christmas themed card, Elf Emma with foiled lights featuring an easy foiling technique.

Elf Emma with Foiled Lights Card by Meghan Kennihan for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Foiled Lights Step Out

Start with die-cutting the string of lights from white cardstock. Next, apply Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 in on the back of a scrap piece of white cardstock and die-cut the little bulbs from it. This gives me edge-to-edge adhesive coverage on my bulb shapes. It is the perfect set up to foil them!

Elf Emma with Foiled Lights Card by Meghan Kennihan for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Foiling the Bulbs

To create the foiled light bulbs, simply peel off the yellow liner and place the desired foil color (color side UP) over the exposed adhesive. I picked red, green, and silver foils from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit with Foil. To transfer the color, gently rub the foil with your finger tips and pull away the foil to reveal the result. Reapply if there are missed areas.

I flipped the foil over so you can see how I placed the bulbs.

Making Layers

To create the layers of the card front, I added holiday patterned paper to fit my red cardstock card base. Using the girl elf die cut as a guide on size, I die-cut red and white cardstock layers to double-frame her.

The words were die-cut and foiled the same as the bulbs to match. Then I adhered all the shapes with the Dual Tip Glue Pen

Adding Elf Emma

After stamping, coloring and die-cutting Elf Emma, I wanted her to stand out by lifting her up with 3D Foam Circles. So I added them to the back and placed her on the card panel so that she pops from the card!

Here is a final look at the finished card! I hope you enjoyed the foiling technique.

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments

Hi, friends! Can you believe Christmas is just three weeks away? Teri here to show you how to make some adorable Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments to decorate with! These Christmas trees are easy to make and look so cute when hung up!

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments Base

To make the base, cut two triangles from heavy cardstock (or chipboard). You can hand-cut them, or speed up the process with a large triangle die and a die-cutting machine.

Take one triangle and cover it with adhesive. Adhesive Sheets are perfect for this because you want to have just enough adhesive to hold the tree’s string in place.

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Wrap string, twine or embroidery floss around the triangle until you’ve covered it completely! Flip it over and use a combination of Adhesive Dots and Adhesive Lines to hold the ends of the twine in place.

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Take several pieces of Crafty Foam Tape and add them to the back of the tree. Stack your other triangle on top for a finished look in the back. It’s a perfect place to write a note!

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Finishing Details

Flip the tree over and adhere a “trunk” to it. You can often find small pieces of wood like I used at craft stores, or you can just go outside and find a small “trunk” in nature! Downed tree branches are wonderful for this.

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Complete your tree by adding a die-cut word to it, as well as a few sequins and a star. You’ll also want to add a string hanger to the tree so you can hang it. You can attach the hanger to the tree with adhesive or slide it through the middle of the tree like so!

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The end result is an adorable tree to hang on your Christmas tree! This tree would also look pretty cute as a tag on a Christmas gift, if you ask me!

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Slight Change

You can change up your tree ornament by using multiple colors of twine to decorate it with. You may even want to consider decorating it with ribbon or fabric scraps.

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Rather than using a die-cut word on your tree, stamp or handwrite a sentiment on a strip of heavyweight cardstock.

Christmas Joy Tree Ornaments by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

You don’t have to decorate your tree with sequins! Beads, gems and pompoms are all options! I hope you are inspired to make some Christmas tree ornaments of your own!

Happy crafting!
