Building the Scene

This card was easy to put together! Start stamping, coloring in, and die-cutting several coffee cups and accessories, as well as a few robots. You’ll also want to cut a few extra shapes without any stamping on them.

Stack and adhere the extra shapes below your stamped images. This will give some of your shapes extra dimension when it comes time to put the scene together.

Adhere your scene onto a panel of inked up cardstock (or patterned paper). Add a coffee-themed sentiment and set the panel aside.

Adding Glitter to the Card

Take an A2 card and add strips of Extreme Double-Sided Tape along the sides of it to “frame” the card. I find it’s helpful to fold the liner back on the ends as I go.

Remove the liner pieces and cover the tape with glitter. Not a glitter fan? Try using flock instead. Add several strips of Crafty Foam Tape to your card, in the glitter frame opening. Mount your Robot Coffee Card panel onto it.

You’ll notice my glitter frame is really thin. You may want a thicker frame. If you do, trim 1/4″ to 1/2″ off of each side of your scene before you mount it onto the card.

Complete your Robot Coffee Card by adding a few sequins or gems to it.

Autumn Color Leaves Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a glittered Autumn card. What I love about autumn so much is seeing the green leaves turn into beautiful and bright colors like yellow, orange, and even bright red. These colors inspired me to make this card.

What’s great about this card is that it’s really super simple to make using 3D Foam Leaves. With a technique called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside, even beginning card makers can achieve this look. Shall we get crafty?

Autumn Card Base Layers

Use the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser to adhere a rectangle Kraft card panel on top of a slightly larger dark salmon panel.

Glittered Autumn Leaves

Start by adhering 3D Foam Leaves onto the kraft card panel until you get your desired look.

Using a craft knife, cut through the top liner over the length of each leaf.

Randomly gently peel off half of some of the leaves and sprinkle an Autumn color glitter over the exposed adhesive. Press the glitter to secure and tap off any excess glitter.

Repeat this process with several autumn color glitter until all the leaves are covered. This technique showcasing your adhesive is called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside.

Autumn Gems Placement

To add the gems in autumn colors in a unique way, I first adhered 3D Foam Circles White Mix in between gaps of the leaves. Then peel off the top liner and placed rhinestones on top. Perfect sparkle and lifts the rhinestones so it doesn’t get lost with the glittered leaves.

For a finishing touch, I printed an autumn sentiment and adhered it to the card using 3D Foam Squares White Small Size.

And voila…your Autumn card is ready to make someone happy.

Vintage Map Fall Card

Hi, Connie here with a unique card creation using a vintage map as a background against a truckload of pumpkins. Perfect for a fall-themed card! A combination of etched dies and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products really makes it easy for this kind of paper piecing project.

Vintage Map Fall Card Supplies

Start with determining what cardstock or patterned paper will fit the theme of the card. Then die-cut the shapes. To give it more depth and interest, shade the images with ink. I ended up cutting the pumpkins down to make them smaller.

Embellish the Card Front

Add 3D Foam Circles White Mix to the back of the pumpkins, sign, tires, and small dog shapes.
Adhere Happy Fall to the sign with the Dual Tip Glue Pen.
Attach the truck to the map panel and the pumpkins in the bed of the truck with the E-Z Runner Grand White Permanent Dispenser. Add the other shapes to the panel.
Next, place the vintage map on a white cardstock panel using the E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips.

For more dimension, use the Crafty Foam Tape 108′ on the back of the matted map, and adhered to a black cardstock panel. Then mat on a sage green cardstock panel and lastly to the card base with the E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips.

Add acrylic paint to enhance the die cuts. Highlight the scene with stamps. Place stars and a paper doll boy face on the card to complete.

Glitter Tape Serving Tray

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing how to add a touch of glamor to a rustic wood serving tray using Extreme Double-Sided Tape and glitter. With the holiday season fast approaching, I wanted to be sure to have an extra tray on hand.

I had a lot of fun embellishing this serving tray. I kept the wood natural, but some stenciling or a coat of paint would also look fantastic in addition to the glitter stripes.

How to Add Glitter to a Wood Serving Tray

Apply 1/4-inch Extreme Double-Sided Tape across the bottom of a wood serving tray. The tray I used was made of wood pieces placed in a chevron pattern. I simply applied the tape over the seams on the bottom of the tray.

Next, remove the top red liner from the tape and sprinkle glitter onto the adhesive.

Once the tape is covered in glitter, seal the sparkly stripes using the fine tip of a Dual Tip Glue Pen. Let dry.

Finishing Steps

After the glitter stripes have dried, use the wide brush on a Dual Tip Glue Pen to add a layer of glue to the bottom of the serving tray in preparation for a layer of resin. Spread the layer of glue smooth with a paintbrush. Let dry.

Mix up a batch of resin according to the manufacturer instructions and pour over the bottom of the tray. Let dry.

The glitter and resin finish on this serving tray really catches the light in a fantastic way!

Birthday Origami Wallet Tutorial

Hello, everyone! Margie Higuchi here today with a fun project. Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L participated in a retailer’s symposium at the Creativation trade show back in January. This birthday origami wallet project was the make ‘n take that we shared there. Many inquired about this project so why not share here on the blog for all to enjoy!

Origami Wallet Base

Using an 8.50 x 11-inch blue cardstock, score 2.50, 5.50, and 8.50-inch on the long side. Turn the cardstock on its short side and score at 4.25-inch. Burnish all the score lines.

Keeping the cardstock on the short side, cut 0.50-inch inward on the top and bottom right side up to the intersecting scoreline.

Staying on the short side, fold the cardstock in half. This will be your wallet base.

Folding Details

On the long side of the folded cardstock, bring the left end panel in towards the center.

Take the upper right corner and pull it towards the outer edge. It will form a triangle. With a bone folder, crease the line to make a triangle flap.

Secure the back corner with Adhesive Dots Medium. Repeat on the other side.

To finish, apply Crafty Power Tape 81-ft. to the bottom of the back pocket and adhere to make a back pocket. Repeat on the other side.

Embellishing the Wallet

Now for the fun part! Cut the following to create the wallet front and belly band.

Two rectangles: 2.75 x 3.75-inch stripe patterned paper and 2.25 x 3.25-inch birthday patterned paper.
Two circles: 2-inch diameter striped patterned paper and 1.5-inch orange cardstock.
Two strips: 7 x 1.50-inch orange cardstock and 7 x 0.50-inch blue cardstock.

Layer the smaller rectangle on top of the larger piece by placing a Creative Photo Corner Silver on each corner and then add a strip of the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser. Center the layered panel on the wallet front.

Making the Belly Band

Adhere the two strips together (the blue over the orange) by adding an Adhesive Lines in the middle. Wrap the layered strip around the wallet to figure out how long you need the band to be. Place the end facing up and on top of your wallet front. Trim excess and secure the end with an Adhesive Dots Medium.

Embellishing the Band

With the belly band end facing up, slowly roll the E-Z Heart Runner (a 15-year anniversary adhesive distributed at the trade show) on top of the blue cardstock strip, place Metallic Transfer Foils Variety Colors in teal color-side up and rub with your fingertip to transfer the color to the hearts. Re-foil in missed areas. Set aside.

Let’s work on the circle pieces. Layer the smaller circle on top of the larger striped one by adding 3D Foam Strips on the back. Trim the 3D Foam Strips to size to fit the back of the circle. Using the Adhesive Lines, apply a couple on the back of the layered circle and adhere on top of the belly band.

Add a 3D Foam Hearts in the largest size on top of the orange circle. Remove its top liner, place Metallic Transfer Foils Variety Colors in teal color-side up and rub with your fingertip to transfer the color to the heart. You’re Done!

Faux Metal Band Masculine Card

Hello everyone! Judy here with a masculine card with a faux metal band created using 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White with gold holographic foil from Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors. I grunged it up a bit so it’s not so sparkly! Yet, it still has a holographic shimmer!

Faux Metal Band Creation

Start with a piece of 4.25 x 5.5-inch of 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White. Then cut a slightly larger piece of gold holographic foil from Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors.

Remove the top liner from the foam sheet and place the foil with the color side up on top of the exposed adhesive. Rub gently to transfer the color and peel it off. If there are any missed spots, re-foil the area. Repeat as needed.

To give the piece more depth, place the foiled foam piece in an embossing folder.

Run the embossing sandwich through the die-cutting and embossing machine.

Apply black paint over foiled foam with a make-up sponge. Wipe off excess paint with a paper towel or soft cloth. Repeat until you get your desired color over the entire piece. Trim the foam piece to 4.25 x 2.5 inches. Then use a permanent black marker to cover the white edges.

Use gray ink to stamp planks at top and bottom of 4.25 x 5.5-inch brown card. (Plank stamp is not big enough to stamp entire card front at one time. Align stamp with card edge and stamp across the top. Mask top with a scrap of paper. Align stamp with the same edge to stamp across the bottom so planks match. The band will cover where stamping meets).

Adding to the Card Front

I want to mat the top and bottom to anchor the faux metal band against the card front. To do this, cut two 0.5-inch strips of black cardstock.

Peel backing away from one long edge of the foam piece and align black cardstock strip with a narrow reveal along the edge. Repeat on the opposite edge. Trim strips even with the foam.

Apply E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser to each of the black strip. Peel the liner from the foam and attach the faux metal foam to the card front.

Place a piece of Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4in on the back of the ribbon. Secure it over the faux metal band. Trim ribbon ends even with card edge.

Finishing with the Sentiment

Stamp verse with Versafine Onyx Black on black cardstock. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Use die-cutting machine and matching die to cut verse strip.

Designer’s Tip: Stamp and heat emboss multiples of these to have on hand.

Place small squares of Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix on the back of the sentiment strip and place it along the ribbon.

A Birthday Card

The 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White can easily be cut to any size including 2.5 x 4.25-inch which was used for this card. Since I had a leftover piece, I used it to put together another card, a slimline style.

The differences are the card size, the script stamp and the burlap strips. These pieces butt up to the faux metal band and secured using E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser. The sentiment is matted with brown and adhered flat with the E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser

Social Distancing Flip Book

What do you do when you have too many pictures of an event? Too many to put on one layout, or even two, or three layouts? Christine joining you today to show you how I created a Flip Book showcasing my daughter’s recent Social Distancing birthday!

The Flipbook itself came from Simple Stories, I just go to decorate it and put it together. In doing so, I used several adhesives that I will talk about today.

Social Distancing Flipbook Adhesives

First off I created the cover. I used the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong to attach my patterned papers to the cover. I knew I needed the strongest possible option! Then I used some Crafty Foam Tape to pop up the “We’re in this together” sticker.

For my inside pages, I stuck primarily with the E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips. These made it quick and easy to assemble, without having to worry about it falling apart later.

On this page, I fussy cut the word “Lucy” out of another picture. Because it was so narrow, I used the E-Z Runner Micro to add the letters on.

Having the right adhesives on hand allowed me to add in extra papers behind my pictures instead of just slipping in pictures of cut apart cards.

My back page includes a large Keepsake Envelope to allow her to tuck in some trinkets and memory pieces from that day.

DIY Holiday Gift Card Holder

Hello, it’s Sheri again with a personalized gift card packaging idea using empty paper rolls into DIY Holiday Gift Card Holders. They are super easy to make so get the kids involved! Let’s get started!

It’s only 2 months until the holidays so be sure to start saving those discarded paper rolls now. These will make great little decorations tucked into the tree as well.

DIY Gift Card Holder Base

Let’s create a rustic buffalo plaid DIY gift card holder box.

For the personalized tags, die-cut small circles out of white cardstock and initials out of 3D Foam Creative Sheet Small Black. Place the letters on the circles towards the bottom to leave room for the hole to be placed at the top. Sprinkle the adhesive foam letters generously with black glitter and press it in for complete coverage.
Use the MyStik® Permanent Strips Dispenser on the back
of each 2-1/2” x 6” strips of patterned paper to attach securely to each paper roll.
Placing the seam in the back, press
each of the wrapped rolls flat.
Lay the gift card on top and center to use as a guide to score the end of the roll to form the closure.

Finishing Steps

Insert your gift card and secure the flaps by wrapping with twine and attaching your tag. You can add simple extra elements such as a couple of pine sprig die cuts. It’s ready to give out!

Hi, everyone! Teri here to show you how to create some Fall-themed gift tags! These are so easy to make and goes well with really, any occasion. But today I am sharing an easy leaf gift tag tutorial. So come on!

These gift tags were unbe-“leaf”-ably easy to make and look great when added to gifts handed out during the Fall months. They also are fun to use to decorate Thanksgiving and Harvest dinner tables with.

Easy Leaf Gift Tags with Foam Shapes + Flock

Start by placing several 3D Foam Frames on different color patterned papers.

Trim the frames, leaving a border around each one. You can make the border as thick or thin as you’d like. Add some 3D Foam Leaves and Circles to the inside of your frame until you get the desired look.

To Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside, remove the liners from all the 3D Foam shapes and cover them with either flock or glitter. Make sure you burnish the flock or glitter onto the foam by rubbing your fingers over it until there are no sticky parts exposed. Tap off excess. It’s that easy!

Adhere your patterned paper panels to a rectangle piece of kraft cardstock. Add a stamped or handwritten sentiment strip to each tag. Any sentiment fitting your desired occasion for your tags will do!

Poke a hole through the top of each tag and add a little kraft jute to it.

Complete your tags by adding stitch marks with a pen. You can even make dots or add both dots and stitch marks!

Add Glitz to Your Tags

For a little sparkle, add a few sequins to your tags. Gems would work too.

Don’t limit yourself to decorating around the foam shapes. You can decorate the shapes as well by adhering a sequin (or two) onto them.
