Custom Luggage Tags Tutorial

Hi, Ivy Pe here! Are you planning on a vacation soon? How about making custom luggage tags to accent your bags! I am so excited because we are going on a cruise – my husband’s first time! Using these Self-Laminating Tags with Loops will make it so easy. Let me show you!

Custom Luggage Tags Tutorial by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Custom Luggage Tags Instructions

These tags need to stick out so why not make my design BOLD with the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets. First I had to cut out my design with label paper to give it support and to make it a foiled sticker. Using the washi tape setting of my electronic file cutting machine, I cut my shape.

Custom Luggage Tags Tutorial by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Once cut and peeled off the mat, I placed it cut side down on the Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6-in. Simply peel off the liner, place the paper down and replace the liner and rub the paper to transfer the adhesive.

Designer’s Tip: Burnish well with your fingertips, rounded side of a bone folder or plastic card for a good transfer.

Foiling My Design

Once you have your edge-to-edge adhesive coverage, you are ready to foil! There are five colors of the Metallic Transfer Foil in the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit. I chose the blue color. Place the color side up, over the design and gently rub the foil to transfer the color.

If you missed a spot or two, reapply the foil. I love that you don’t need a machine for this step. Instant gratification! LOL!

Creating the Tag Base

Cut two pieces of 2.25 x 3.34-inch patterned paper. one for the front and one for the back. Place the foiled design in the center of the front piece and our contact information on the back piece. Attach them together using the E-Z Runner Petite Permanent Dots.

Now it’s the fun part! Center the cardstock onto the inside of the Self-Laminating Tag, making sure the color side is covering the contact information for a little privacy and the clear side is covering the design side. Pull the liner off and assemble the tag. Thread the loop through the opening and you’re done!

Adhesive Solutions for a Dimensional Layout

Hello crafty friends and welcome to 2020! Tracy here, and today I have my first creation of the new year. Today I am sharing a dimensional layout and some Adhesive Solutions for those tricky dimensional products. Keep reading for all of the details.

Adhesive Solutions for a Dimensional Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhesive Solution Ideas

I start by creating a simple layered background, matting the photo in white cardstock, then a larger mat of patterned paper and then another layer of white cardstock, all with the edges distressed. I’m useing the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser for the photo and then Crafty Foam Tape White for the other layers.

Adhesive Solution #1:

The first tricky piece that I need to adhere is the branch of flowers across the bottom of the layout. The layout is going to be framed and everything needs to be adhered securely place. I used Adhesive Lines across the entire branch to make sure it was firmly in place.

Adhesive Solutions for a Dimensional Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhesive Solution #2:

Continue to add the dimensional flowers around the photo and more around the branch. Here I’m using Adhesive Dots Medium to make sure all of these tricky pieces stay in place.

Adhesive Solutions for a Dimensional Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhesive Solution #3:

The paper collection includes a stunning sheet of very intricate paper die cuts. As always, I wanted to pop these up to create lots of dimension. The tricky part is that most of them are very fine.

For this I cut very narrow strips of 3D Foam Creative Sheets Mix, then cut those into smaller pieces to fit each piece. I added them around the matted photo and the dimensional branch.

Celebrate Card with 3D Foam Pennants Card

Hi everyone, it’s Yvonne here with a Celebrate card showcasing a technique called Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. With this technique, you use your Adhesive not just between layers for adhering, but on the top, as an embellishment on your card! And with lots of Metallic Transfer Foil and glitter, this card is extra sparkly!

Celebrate Card with 3D Foam Pennants Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Celebrate Card with 3D Foam Pennants

I used every bit of the 3D Foam Pennants set to create a fun design and these shapes make cardmaking super easy!

Start by trimming a piece of white cardstock to a rectangle size to make the card panel. Place the pennant and triangle shapes from the 3D Foam Pennants onto the panel in a geometrical pattern. Make sure to leave space at the bottom to stamp a sentiment.

Celebrate Card with 3D Foam Pennants Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Designer’s Tip: lightly draw a horizontal line in pencil to help line up the shapes easily. Simply erase the line after adhering the shapes.

Next, add 3D Foam Circles to the panel design. Then stamp the Celebrate sentiment on the panel using a black ink pad.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

To Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside, remove the top liner from the 3D Foam Circles White Mix, place your desired color from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors (color side UP), and rub with your fingertips to transfer the color to the circles.

Celebrate Card with 3D Foam Pennants Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Remove the liners of the triangle shapes and repeat the same steps with the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Variety Colors.

For the pennant shapes, we will use a different medium glitter! Simply remove the liner of the pennant shapes, sprinkle glitter on top and gently burnish the glitter into the adhesive. Tap off the excess glitter and done. Isn’t this a fun effect!

Making the
Card Base

Adhere the
glittered Pennants panel onto a slightly larger pink panel using the E-Z
Runner®
Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser
.

Secure the panel onto a white card base again using the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

And…voila…your Celebrate card is ready! I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial and wish you happy crafting!

Christmas Collections for Everyday Scrapbooking

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a layout and some tips for how to scrapbook events using Christmas themed patterned papers. The holidays may be over, but I’m not ready to pack away my Christmas collections just yet! The timeless prints that are present in many Christmas collections make them perfect for documenting everyday moments.

Christmas Collections for Everyday Scrapbooking by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The festive My Mind’s Eye Yuletide collection is a fantastic mix of modern and traditional holiday patterns and imagery. Buffalo plaid, leaves, and birds are some of my favorite prints to use all year long. By neutralizing the color palette and being selective on which pieces of the collection I added to my design, I was able to easily use this patterned paper for a new year layout.

Simple Tips to Create with Christmas Collections All Year Long

Christmas Collections for Everyday Scrapbooking by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Tip #1: Neutralize the Color Palette
A neutral black and white buffalo plaid patterned paper was perfect for the left half of the background. The ledger print that I selected for the right half of the background included red holly berries. Both red and green together felt too seasonal, so I covered up the red berries with a large black tag and green leaves that I cut from a portion of the same paper.

I didn’t quite have enough paper leftover from my Christmas crafting to measure a full 12×12 inches. I pieced together smaller pieces on a pieces of black cardstock. A grid design using 4×4 inch pieces of paper would have also looked great.

Christmas Collections for Everyday Scrapbooking by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Tip #2: Incorporate Embellishments to Fit the Theme
The larger blue bird was printed on the patterned paper. The die-cut embellishments from the collection included several more birds. I added a second blue bird to my design to bring more blue into the palette, but to also add a second non-seasonal image.

Christmas Collections for Everyday Scrapbooking by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Tip #3: Add Dimension
I applied the photos to the page using Crafty Foam Tape. Next, I chose a puffy set of letter stickers for my title, rather than a flat letter sticker. Adding depth and dimension to the design helps the viewer focus more on the photos.

Until next time!

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card

Hey crafty friends! It’s Judy here today with a bold and simple masculine birthday card. It features glossy letter die cuts made dimensional with 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small Black. I’m super happy with how they turned out! I’ve stamped the plaid background but it could easily be made with printed paper.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Make it Bold and Simple

To make this card, start by stamping the plaid background. Ink plaid stamp with Cool Graphite ink. Stamp on white card stock.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Ink graph stamp with Tumbled Glass ink and stamp over gray plaid. Ink graph stamp again. Stamp over plaid again with stamp slightly offset to the previous stamping. Trim to 3⅞ x 5¾-inch. Set aside for ink to dry while die-cutting letters.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Bold Happy Birthday

Cut glossy black cardstock to 3¼ x 4-inch. Cut a sheet of 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small Black to the same size. Peel the black liner and place glossy black cardstock on 3D Foam (glossy side up).

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Arrange letter dies to spell BIRTHDAY. Place a piece of low tack tape across letters to hold them in position. Align on glossy black cardstock attached to 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small Black. Put through die-cutting machine 2-3 times to get a good cut. The white liner on 3D Foam Creative Sheets Small Black may not cut through and that’s okay! The letters will stay in place and easily peel off when ready to apply to card.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Leave BIRTHDAY letter dies in place except for Y. Add it to dies to spell HAPPY. Apply a strip of low tack tape across letters. Position above BIRTHDAY on glossy black cardstock. Use a die-cutting machine to cut letters with 2-3 passes through the machine.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Carefully loosen the end of the tape and peel back the tape with dies.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Remove any pieces that stick in dies and put back in place. After letters are removed, use the negative sheet for another card. Perhaps a Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside concept by taking off the top liner, adding embossing powder and heat emboss it. Or add glitter. Or the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Align BIRTHDAY to the lines of the stamped plaid paper near the lower edge. Allow space for greeting strip between HAPPY and BIRTHDAY. Then place HAPPY on plaid paper.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adding a Greeting

Stamp Simple Strips greeting on black cardstock using Versamark ink. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Die-cut with Simple Strips die. Attach small foam squares from Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix to the back of the strip. Attach to plaid paper.

Bold and Simple Masculine Birthday Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creating the Card Base

Form 4¼ x 6-inch side-fold card from white cardstock. Cut 4 x 5⅞-inch black cardstock mat. Use the E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser to fasten the plaid paper to back mat and then to the card front. That finishes it!

How to use a Stencil and Glitter on a Background

Welcome back, crafty friends! Tracy here and today I’m sharing my first post for 2020. Do you have any crafty New Year Resolutions? I think mine would be to SEND or GIVE more cards. I create lots… but I also keep lots. That being said, today I’m sharing a fun little card with a stencil and glitter embossed background. Here are all of the details.

How to use a Stencil and Glitter on a Background by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using Stencil and Glitter!

I created a simple blended background using water reactive ink and a blending tool. Then stamped the image using black ink and added colour using watercolours and a waterbrush.

How to use a Stencil and Glitter on a Background by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Next, I gathered the stencil I wanted to use, a stencil tool, ultra-fine glitter close to the colour of ink that I used and my Dual Tip Glue Pen. Pour a glob of the liquid glue from the Dual Tip Glue Pen onto your craft mat. Place the stencil where you would like the glitter background design to occur. Then using the stencil tool, spread the adhesive over the stencil.

How to use a Stencil and Glitter on a Background by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Pull the stencil up quickly. I let the adhesive sit for a few seconds before adding the ultra-fine glitter. Tap off the excess glitter and let the glitter covered glue dry completely.

Once dry, I stamped the card sentiment in black ink up the side of the card. Then adhered the whole piece to the white cardstock card base using Crafty Foam Tape White.

How to use a Stencil and Glitter on a Background by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add the fussy cut stamped image using 3D Foam Squares White Small Size.

How to use a Stencil and Glitter on a Background by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I love how this rather monochromatic glitter embossed background turned out for this fun and funky card. And I love the sentiment, “I admire your inner beauty.”

Snowy Altered Gift Pail

Happy New Year! Shellye here today with a Snowy Altered Gift Pail. Several years ago these altered tin pails were all the rage so I thought I’d revisit this oldie, but a goodie!

Snowy Altered Gift Pail by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Snowy Altered Gift Pail Step Outs

Cover the body of the pail with two 4.5 x 12-inch strips from patterned paper and punch a 1-inch hole to create space to go around the handles of the pail. Attach the paper using Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/2in.

Snowy Altered Gift Pail by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Cut various lengths and widths of paper strips and fold them in half. I’m using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser filled with E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refill to add a quick swath of adhesive to hold the ends together.

After crafting several of the paper loops, attach them around the top of the pail with a strip of the Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4in.

Snowy Altered Gift Pail by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To hide the edges and add texture, I’m using Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4in to attach a strip over the top of the looped papers. Next use a heating tool to warm the tape. I discovered that this provides a better grip for fabric trims (be careful: metal pail will be warm).

Decorate the Pail

Let’s start on the handle! Die-cut a piece of chipboard, papers and Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch using a label die. Attach the die-cut papers to the chipboard using the Adhesive Sheets.

Sprinkle light blue glitter on the small 3D Foam Circles White and place them all around the label and the body of the pail. To secure the buttons on the label use Adhesive Dots 3D. For interest at the bottom of the label, add two Creative Photo Corners Ivory.

Snowy Altered Gift Pail by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To finish, punch two holes into the sides of the chipboard and attach them to the handle with ribbon. Now fill the Snowy Altered Gift Pail with plastic snow and an LED candle or any gift that fits. The ideas of use are limitless!

Thank you for joining!

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card Tutorial

Hi, Ivy Pe here with Valentine’s Day around the corner I thought it would be fun to make this cute Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card.

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card Tutorial by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card Steps

Cut a card panel to 4 x 5-inch in light pink cardstock. Place it in an embossing folder and run it through a die-cutting and embossing machine.

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

In order to cut a shaped window through both the A2-size card base (4.25 x 5.5-inch) and panel, I temporarily secured both and die-cut with a heart etched die.

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card Tutorial by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I die-cut a piece of acetate sheet with a larger size heart die to cover the card panel window. Adhered it with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser to the back of the card panel. Then applied the layer to line up on the card base. Using the same heart die, die-cut another acetate shape and set aside.

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card Tutorial by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Let’s make a heart frame. Nest the larger size heart die with the heart die that was used for the window and secure the dies with washi tape. Place on top of a red cardstock piece and die-cut through the machine.

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card Tutorial by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

With the second acetate heart shape, adhere to the back of the red heart frame with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. Using a paper trimmer, cut 1/8-inch strips from the 3D Foam Creative Sheets and apply them on the back of the heart frame. To lift up more, I used two layers of the strips. Set aside.

Hedgehog Shaker Fillers

Stamp two hedgehog images and color them with watercolor and center them on the acetate window of the card base. Filled with pretty sequins and close the shaker feature with the red heart frame. Make sure the hearts are lined up with the card base. Since I had the sequins out, randomly add them on the card front with Adhesive Dots Micro for extra sparkle!

I also die-cut a small heart shape out of the 3D Foam Creative Sheets and foiled it with the Metallic Transfer Foil in red from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit. Once secured on the acetate, simply remove the top liner of the heart, place the foil (color side UP) and rub with fingertips to transfer the color to the foil. It’s so easy to do and requires NO tools.

Finishing Up the Card

Using another 1/8-inch strip cut from the 3D Foam Creative Sheets, I made a red border on the bottom of the card. Repeat the same foiling steps as mentioned above.

Hedgehog Valentine Shaker Card Tutorial by Ivy Pe for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

For the sentiment, die-cut a banner shape in dark pink cardstock and the words, love you, in red cardstock. To adhere words to the banner, I used the Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6-inch. It’s perfect for those intricate designs. Crafty Tape Foam Tape Black was used to secure the banner to the card front with a little lift 🙂 Lastly, add a small heart sprinkled with white glitter that I die-cut from a 3D Foam Creative Sheet.
