Cute Dimensional Critter Card Tutorial

Welcome back creative crafty friends, Tracy McLennon here. Today I have a fun little Cute Critter Card to share, created using 3D Foam products.

A little-known fact about me…I am a musician. I play the french horn, like the little fox on the left-hand side of my card. So when I saw this super cute set of stamps, well…I just had to have them. Here are all of the details on how I create my Cute Critter Card.

Cute Dimensional Critter Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Cute Critter Card Instructions

To start, I stamped and die cut the critter images. Then I added colour using Chameleon Pens.

Cute Dimensional Critter Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The next step is to cut white cardstock rings and the circles from the middle using nesting circle dies.

Cute Dimensional Critter Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add colour to the white cardstock circles using Distress Oxide Inks, and a blending tool.

Cute Dimensional Critter Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using the same nesting circle dies, I cut 3 rings from the 3D Foam Creative Sheets. I then removed the top layer from the foam and adhered the white cardstock rings to each.

Cute Dimensional Critter Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

For a little bit of extra sparkle, I rolled the edges on the foam rings in a coarse glitter. Then adhered to each ring to my white cardstock, card front (3.75 x 6.5″).

To add the inked circles to the card I used the E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine Adhesive Dispenser.

Adding Dimension Details

Then it was time to add the Cute Critters to the card. I used 3D Foam Squares White Mix and Thin 3D Foam Squares to do this. I like to use the different thicknesses of 3D Foam Squares to get lots more dimension in a project.

The final step was to use Crafty Foam Tape to adhere the card front to the slightly larger card base.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card

Hi there! Valerie here today with an interactive card that slides open on two sides and reveals more to the scene than what you see just on the front! See what happens when you pull those two tabs – eek!

To put it all together, I needed the awesome E-Z Runner® Grand, the fun E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser, and the trusty Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch.

Center Sliding Card Panel Scene

Also known as the Main Pocket Piece, I die-cut two pieces.

One will be the center card panel. I colored my background with Copic markers. It took a little time, but it was worth it because I got the effect I wanted around those tiny glowing stars! Then I cut a notch on each side.

The other Main Pocket Piece I left blank as it will not be shown on the card and will serve to hold the Sliding Track Mechanism.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I have a couple of ground layers to add to the scene that was attached using my E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Note the bottom section is not colored as there will be one more layer added to cover that bare spot 🙂

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Slider Track Mechanism

Referring to the image below, the bottom piece (next to the Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch) is the Slider Track Mechanism. On the top and bottom part of the track, apply Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch on both the front and back sides.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Grab a doggy poop bag (yes, it works wonderfully! lol!) or use a bag from a stamp or die packaging. Cut a single piece 2 1/4 inch wide. Place a strip of Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch onto one end.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Loosely wrap the plastic around (not too tight – you want it to be able to move freely), take off the liner from the tape and adhere it down. Trim excess. Slide it back and forth to test.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Move the seam to the LEFT END and place a strip of Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch over the seam as shown below. Consider this the front side. Flip over and apply another strip of the adhesive on the RIGHT END (opposite side/back side). Leave the Slider Track Mechanism as is.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Bringing in the Panels

Cut two Panel Pieces (they will slide out from Pocket Piece). Stamp and color as desired on one side of each.

On the LEFT SIDE of the Slider Track Mechanism, peel off the tape liner and place one of the Panel Pieces (front side up). Make sure that its right edge is lined up with the outside edge of the Slider Track Mechanism. Press down to secure.

Flip over. Make sure the back side of the second Panel Piece is up and that the image is not upside down before peeling the tape liner on the RIGHT SIDE. With its left edge lined up with the outside edge of the Slider Track Mechanism. Press down to secure. See the image below.

Flip back (LEFT SIDE) and pull on both ends to see if both fronts are showing. If so, you did it correctly.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Assemble the Main Piece

Remember the Main Pocket Pieces? There is a score line on the top of each piece, fold and apply Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8 inch to the outside of each tab. Take the liner off of one of the tabs and connect the two pieces. Leave it open to add the Slider Track piece.

Sliding Surprise Birthday Card by Valerie Ward for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

With the front side of the Slide Track piece, take off the liner from the top and bottom of the track and place it into the Pocket piece. Make sure the front of the Pocket piece is facing the correct way…all decorated pieces should be facing the same side/way.

The back side should be facing up by now (see the image below). Peel off the top liner from the track and press the Pocket tab over to secure. Then take off the two tape liner and close up the Pocket piece. Add your other ground layer and stamped die cuts with my E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser. You’re done with the main feature of the card!

Just add two tabs on each side of the Panels and adhere the Slider Pocket to a layered card base with the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Festive Plaque using Adhesive Sheets

Hi everyone, Christine here today.  The weather has turned so much cooler here in England that it has made me think about Christmas!  I’ve created a festive plaque with a bit of up-cycling and using Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6″. It’s fun and easy!

Let’s get started…

I picked up a wooden plaque in a sale that had a summer message. I coated it lightly with regular white paint.

Once dry I sanded it a little and added distress ink to the edges. I didn’t mind the original wording showing through, it added to the distressed look!

Using Adhesive Sheets…

To adhere my sentiment die cut I chose to use an Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6″.  They come in a variety of sizes (12 x 12″, 6 x 12″ and 4 x 6″)  perfect for all projects.  Take off the top liner sheet of an Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6″ and apply cardstock on to it. Die-cut through your machine.  When you remove the sheet your die cut has an edge to edge layer of adhesive.

Here’s a quick video on How to Use Adhesive Sheets for Die Cutting below.

Once the black sentiment was affixed to the white shadow die cut, I used 3D Foam Squares White Small on the reverse. These will hold the sentiment perfectly in place on the wooden plaque.

I created a poinsettia flower as an embellishment and affixed a 3D Foam Circle to the reverse. These are just the right shape for flower embellishments and each pack contains both small and large circles.

The finished plaque, it won’t be long before it will be up with all the other festive decorations.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Make your next die cutting project with Adhesive Sheets, it’s a breeze! Christine

Halloween Glitter and Washi Tape Treat Bag

Greetings!  Shellye McDaniel here today with a quick and simple Halloween Glitter & Washi Tape Treat Bag.

Halloween Glitter and Washi Tape Treat Bag by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

For this project, I have used a standard white 4 x 7.75″ paper sack, a large wooden 3/4 x 3″ clothespin, scrapbook papers and die cuts, and black/white dot washi tape.

Halloween Glitter and Washi Tape Treat Bag by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

From Scrapbook Adhesives I have used: Adhesive Dots Small3D Foam Squares White Small and  Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch.

Halloween Glitter and Washi Tape Step Outs

To get started, I grabbed a roll of black and white dot washi tape.  Next, I cut a strip of the  Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch the same width as the tape.

Halloween Glitter and Washi Tape Treat Bag by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

After that, I applied the tape to the adhesive strip.  I used a 1/2″ round punch to cut out circles from the strip.

Next, I removed the backing from the washi dots and adhered them to the bag in a random pattern.

Between the washi dots, I attached Adhesive Dots Small that I sprinkled with orange glitter. Don’t forget to tap off the excess! This simple technique is “Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside” 🙂

I finished off the bag with a decorated clothespin. To do this, I measured and cut the patterned paper so that it was just a bit smaller.  Next, I used a strip of the Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch to join the two together.

Finally, I added a couple of die-cuts using 3D Foam Squares White Small and Adhesive Dots Small.  I chose to use a single Adhesive Dot for the bat so that I could fold the wings up a bit.  I really like the dimension that this gives!

To tie the clip in with the bag design, I added an Adhesive Dot to the pumpkin and then I added orange glitter to it as well.

Now my bag is ready for stuffing with treats and giving!

Celebrate 14 with 3D Foam Hearts

Good morning! Shannon here, sharing a layout to celebrate my sweet daughter’s 14th birthday with some sparkly 3D Foam Hearts. I love capturing my daughter, Mackenzie, in pictures. Granted, it’s a hard thing to do these days – lol!

Celebrate 14 with 3D Foam Hearts by Shannon Morgan for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I gathered up my supplies to use on my layout. 3D Foam Hearts would be the feature element in the layout because they are so fun to create with and will stand out if I use “Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside” with glitter!

Celebrate a Page with 3D Foam Hearts!

This “rare to capture” picture of my beautiful Mackenzie will be the focus of the layout. Of course, I will layer my layout, it’s a trademark of mine 🙂 My go to is the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser and it will get the job done!

To create interest and dimension to my layout, I used 3D Foam Circles Black Mix. It’s behind Mackenzie’s picture to lift and make a shadow effect.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

What would you do with 3D Foam Hearts? The possibilities are endless. The versatility of the foam shapes by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  accents projects perfectly.

As you can see from the finished layout, I used mine with gold glitter! A good ole white plate does the trick for catching the excess glitter. For a  fun twist, I added sequins here and there on some of the hearts before sprinkling the glitter. Next place the hearts randomly on the layout.

Here’s a quick video on How to use 3D Foam Hearts and Other Shapes.

Final Touches

Some words were added and sprayed ink mist to my layout. Admittedly, I am quirky in the sense that a layout doesn’t feel finished unless I add mist to it!

There you have it! Here’s a close up of my layout and you can see how much dimension brings a page to life. I hope this inspires you to create some fun stuff!

3D Foam Leaves FALL Banner

Judy, here with a small FALL Leaves Banner featuring 3D Foam Leaves covered with heated embossing powders. In an hour, you can create this home decor piece to keep or give as a wonderful seasonal gift.

3D Foam Leaves FALL Banner by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creating Fall Leaves Banner Basics

The banner measures 4.5 x 5.5 inches plus the twine hanger. Stamp the natural canvas base with a script design using Archival ink. For interest, fray its edges and bottom.

The letters for “FALL” are cut from 3D Foam Creative Sheets (black) with black cardstock fastened to one side before die-cutting. Once cut, they become dimensional letter stickers.  Simply remove backing and place on the burlap border. They really stick to it! To create a faux stitching design simply use a black marker.

The burlap paper is fastened to the canvas with Extreme Double-Sided Tape ½ʺ which is a very strong adhesive. It also fastened the canvas in back to form a casing for the twig.  Makes for no sewing!

3D Foam Leaves FALL Banner by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Leaf Details

The leaves are 3D Foam Leaves which were dipped embossing powders and heated. Just remove the liner from one side and cover with embossing powder. Use tweezers to hold leaf by the stem to remove the other backing and cover with embossing powders. Keep holding with tweezers to use a heat gun to melt the embossing powder. It’s worth the patience!

Shape the leaf while it’s still warm. All the embellished leaves are held on the banner with Adhesive Dots 3D.  They really stick well to the canvas! A twine bow is fastened with Adhesive Dots Small.

Tie the twine to ends of twig to finish. It’s the perfect size to hang on a doorknob.

Happy Fall!

Distressed Foiled Accents Card Tutorial

Hi, everyone! Teri here with a stamped card featuring some distressed foiled accents that are easy to make with products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®. Let me show you how you can make your own accents for your next card or scrapbook page!

Distressed Foiled Accents Card by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creating the Circle!

The circle is easy to recreate! Start by cutting two circles from cardstock. One should be slightly larger than the other. Stamp a sentiment on the small circle. Set it aside.

Take the larger circle and place it on scratch paper. Run several lines of adhesive along the edges with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Don’t fret if you miss a spot or put too much adhesives on the circle.

Distressed Foiled Accents by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Take a piece of foil from the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit. Set it over the adhesive and burnish it to the circle with your fingers. (A bone folder works well for burnishing too!) Again, don’t worry if you don’t get foil on all the adhesive.

Distressed Foiled Accents by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Now, comes the fun part! We get to distress! Take a nail file and lightly sand the foil and adhesive. Keep going until it’s distressed as much as you want it distressed.

Adhere the circle with the stamped sentiment onto the distressed foiled circle and mount it to your project. Want the sentiment to pop? Consider adhering it to the larger circle with Crafty Foam Tape White or Crafty Foam Tape Black rather than the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Making Distress Foiled Tape!

Another fun Distressed Foiled Accent to create is faux Washi tape strips! These are so easy! Simply take the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser and run a couple strips of adhesive along the top and bottom of your card or scrapbook page.

Distressed Foiled Accents by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Distressed Foiled Accents by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Set some foil on top and burnish it with your finger or bone folder. Remove the excess foil and use a nail file to distress the foil. Keep going until the foils looks as distressed as you would like it to be! Remember, the more you sand the foil, the greater distressed it will be.

I hope you are inspired to make your own distressed foiled accents for your next project. Just a few of these accents can add a whole lot of style to your cards and scrapbook pages without putting a lot of work into them!

Twine Wreath Layout with Adhesive Lines

Welcome back crafty friends, Tracy McLennon here and today I have a fun and easy twine wreath layout tutorial using Adhesive Lines.

I don’t know what it is about circles, but I love a layout that incorporates circular elements. One of my favourite ways to do this is by creating a wreath. A wreath draws the eye in and frames the photograph. Here is how I created my layout.

Creating the Twine Wreath

First I started by creating my layered background with cardstock and patterned paper. Then I traced a circle with pencil onto the white patterned paper. Sometimes a dinner plate works great for this.

Then I took Adhesive Lines and adhered them all around the circle. I cut 3 long pieces of cotton twine. These pieces have to be long enough to go all the way around the circle. Tie a knot on one end and adhere the knot in the bottom left-hand corner, where the layered flowers will be. Then in a random fashion, twist the 3 pieces of twine. As you twist, adhere the twine to the Adhesive Lines all the way around the circle. The twine wreath makes a unique texture and adds visual interest.

Twine Wreath Layout with Adhesive Lines by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Then I added the layered flowers and leaves using 3D Foam Squares White Mix and Adhesive Dots Mini. The perfect finishing touch to my matted photo was the Creative Photo Corners Ivory. Then I adhered the matted photo inside the twine wreath using 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

To adhere the rest of the paper elements I used my E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser and E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips Refill.
