Travel Mini Album Adhesive Essentials

Mini Albums are such a great way to tell a story in a small-scale space. When we tell the stories, we want them to hold up. With no page protectors, these albums often get a lot more handling than say a scrapbook page. This requires adhesives that are strong and will stand the test of time. Christine joining you today to show you a couple of my Mini Album Adhesive Essentials.

Mini Album Adhesive Essentials

If you are anything like me, vacations produce a lot of photos. I like to do mini albums for these trips to knock out a bunch of the story without having to do SO many layouts! This album tells the story of a trip we took to New York City! But before I can let my kids dive into this, I knew I had to assemble it with my Mini Album Adhesive Essentials, the best from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Creative Photo Corners are great for mini albums because they allow you to still be able to take the pictures out. Sometimes we want that availability of our photos!

Mini Album Adhesive Essentials by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

No mini album would be complete without the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Permanent Refill. This takes things up a notch with a super strong hold. I used this to assemble my pages and cover.

Another Mini Album Adhesive Essential for me is Adhesive Dots. These are great to reinforce stickers especially when in mini albums that get a lot of handling. I used Adhesive Dots Large in this album.

Additionally, we have to add patterned papers and pictures to my album and for that, I used the E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips. That is my go-to adhesive for SO many projects!

I have a video that will walk you through the details of this mini album! Let’s take a look!

Friendship Card with Inked Background

Hi, everyone! Staying home and looking for a simple way to say hello to your friends and loved ones? Teri here to show you how to make a card with an inked background like this to send to a special someone! Let’s get right to creating!

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Friendship Card Inked Background

You are going to start by adhering a piece of white cardstock to a 3D Foam Creative Sheet. You’ll then want to cut a large background die with it. I recommend using a background with lines or big circles.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Designer’s Tip: Hold the die in place by adding a few strips of Washi tape along the sides. That way, if you have to run the die and paper multiple times through your die-cutting machine to get it to cut, the die will not shift.

Inking Fun

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Once you’ve cut your background, set it aside and grab a panel of cardstock. Sponge several ink colors in lines from the top to bottom of the panel. Remember, your inking does not have to be perfect. You just want to make sure you get some ink all over the panel.

If you’ve used a water-based ink, splash a few drops of ink onto it and dab of the excess water with a paper towel.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhere the panel onto a top folded A2 card. Then, grab your background die and adhere it onto the card. Set any inner pieces (such as stripes or circles) aside to use on another project.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Embellishing the Card Front

Stamp a sentiment on a circle of cardstock. Cut two more circles and stack all of the circles on top of each other. Mount the sentiment to the card. Then die-cut a couple butterflies from cardstock and adhere them to your card.

Complete the card by embellishing it with a few sequins. This design is easy to reproduce but also easy to slightly change up!

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Change It Up for a Second Time

Rather than applying ink on my background paper in stripes for my Hello card, I randomly applied it in chunks all over the panel.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I also flicked water, as well as white paint, onto the inked panel to give it a more artsy look.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Rather than using butterfly dies on this card, I chose a long stem die and added a few stems. I also used a different sentiment.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

While this card looks different than first card, it really isn’t that much different!

Leftovers for More Cards

You can also use the leftover pieces from the background die to make cards! I used the leftover stripes from the other two cards to make these two cards.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I created inked backgrounds just like I did for the other cards for these two. Then I die-cut a background from cardstock to use a template. I set the template for each background and marked with a pencil where the stripes needed to be placed.

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Then I gradually built a background by adhering the strips over my pencil marks. Easy peasy!

Friendship Card with Inked Background by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To complete these cards, I stamped sentiments on circles of cardstock and then added 3D Foam Hearts. Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside by adding flock on top of the hearts, along with a few sequins.

Joyful Day Mixed Media Card

Hello, Margie, here and I’m dabbling into cardmaking with this Joyful Day Mixed Media Card. Days are getting warmer and flowers are starting to bloom where I am. Using watercolors sets the mood for this card. Realizing that the cardstock would warp, I used my E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong adhesive to solve that problem! Come see what I created.

Joyful Day Mixed Media Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Joyful Mixed Media Background

On an 8.5 x 11-inch white cardstock, I painted it white instead of gesso (mine was missing). After randomly stamping around the paper, I stenciled on white molding paste and let dry. Next, I watercolored with markers in various spring colors until I got my desired look.

Joyful Day Mixed Media Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Once dried, I cut the sheet into fours to create four 4.25 x 5.5-inch card panels. Set aside three for other card projects.

Joyful Day Mixed Media Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Securing a Wonky Card Panel

Trim about 1/8-inch on the top and bottom of the card panel. I wanted a little bit of a border peeking from the white card base. Since it’s a little wonky from the water, I used E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser with the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refill to really stick and holds my Joyful Mixed Media panel down to the card.

Joyful Day Mixed Media Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

It’s really easy to change out the cartridges and the best part, you can change it out mid-way to a different refill! See the quick How to Use and Refill E-Z Runner Grand Dispensers video.

Next, I stamped and watercolored three flower images. Once dried, I fussy cut them out. I picked out two of the three images to use and added 3D Foam Circles to the back.

Adding the Final Touches

Die-cut a ring with a decorative edge with pink cardstock. I forgot to put an adhesive sheet on the back BEFORE die-cutting but no problem. From my stash, I had leftover scraps of my Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12-inch. Just sandwich the die cut between the liner, rub and transfer the adhesive onto the die cut. Place it in the center of the card front.

Joyful Day Mixed Media Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add the flowers on the lower left side on top of the ring. Adhere a stamped sentiment with 3D Foam Strip on top of the flower. Place pink rhinestones on the edges of the ring. You’re done!

My Joyful Day Mixed Media Card makes for a wonderful “pick me up” or for Mother’s Day. Give it a try!

Quilted Layout Tutorial

Hello crafty friends and welcome back! Tracy here and today I have a fun little layout tutorial to share. When I came up with this Quilted Layout background idea, I kind of pictured it like a puffy duvet. I wanted to create a monochromatic, but a textural background to build my layout on. Here are all of the details.

Quilted Layout Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

A Quilted Layout Background

First I took two sheets of white cardstock. One sheet is left whole as the background and the other is cut into 2×2 squares. Next, grab those Creative Photo Corners White and start adding the squares, spaced apart to the background piece of white cardstock to create the Quilted Layout base.

Quilted Layout Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add the squares around the whole layout and another row up the left-hand side. Then I measured the open spot that is left and cut a piece of patterned paper to fit into that space. I added that patterned paper using Crafty Foam Tape White.

Quilted Layout Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I cropped and matted my photo in white cardstock using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser and then added it to the Quilted Layout patterned paper section using Crafty Foam Tape White.

Next, I started adding my die cut embellishments around the quilted layout using a combination of 3D Foam Squares White Mix and Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix. This creates even more dimension between embellishments.

Quilted Layout Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Finally, I added sequins around my embellishments clusters using my go-to Adhesive Dots Micro to complete this Quilted Layout with a little sparkle.

Make Your Masterpiece Card Tutorial

Hi, Connie here with a fun “artsy” card with a great message for these crazy times. Make each day your Masterpiece can apply to anything you do.

Make Your Masterpiece Card Tutorial by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Supplies for Your Masterpiece Card

Make Your Masterpiece Card Tutorial by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

For the supplies needed, I collect cardstock, stamps, and ink. I grabbed the following adhesives to use in making this card: 3D Foam Pennants, 3D Foam Strips, Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Holographic Colors, 3D Foam Squares White Small, Crafty Foam Tape 108ft., and E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Card Step Outs

Make Your Masterpiece Card Tutorial by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
  1. Adhere a light blue cardstock panel to the black card base using E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips.
  2. Stamp a woodgrain background with black ink to a piece of cream cardstock panel. Lift and adhere to the layered card base with Crafty Foam Tape 108ft.
  3. Stamp brush and paint tube images on cream cardstock and trim out. Add three different blue ink tones to the ends of the brushes and paint tube. Place a couple of 3D Foam Squares White Small on the ends. Set aside.
  4. Apply 3D Foam Pennants to patterned paper and trim out. Adhere to the upper right corner of the card front.
Make Your Masterpiece Card Tutorial by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

Are you familiar with Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside concept? Instead of hiding the adhesives behind layers of material, we use them as accents or embellishments on our projects.

For my card, I will use 3D Foam Strips with the silver foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Holographic Colors. Simply remove the top liner of a 3D Foam Strip, place the silver foil (color side UP) over the exposed adhesive and rub gently with a fingertip. Then peel off and Done! No need for a special tool. If you missed a spot, just reapply.

Finish Off Your Masterpiece Card

Adhere the foiled strip to the card front below the foam pennants. This is a visual bar for the brushes and paint tube will be adhered to.

Stamp the sentiment with black ink and cream cardstock. Trim and ink with the same three blue ink tones. Let dry and place on to the card front with E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser. Wrap Twine towards the bottom of the card panel. Done!

Floral Hug Card Tutorial

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a simple to make hug card. I think a lot of us would like to have or a real hug, but with Corona going around, a paper hug is probably the best way to show someone you care.

This card is really easy to make with the use of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products. Let me show you how to make your own paper hug.

Floral Hug Card Tutorial by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Floral Hug Card Base

Start with a card base made from a white rectangular-shaped base.

There are two card panels, one in purple cardstock that is cut slightly smaller than the card base. Adhere it using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

The top card panel is a floral patterned cardstock cut smaller than the purple cardstock panel. Secure it on top with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Embellish the Card Panel

Start with the letters H.U.G. and sand them with fine-grade sandpaper. Next, whitewash paint them to give a distressed look.

Floral Hug Card Tutorial by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To pop up the letters on the card front, I used Crafty Foam Tape 108ft. There is a reason why I want the letters lifted. In order to tuck the flower accents under the letters, I need the space. The Crafty Foam Tape 108ft is the perfect solution!

Floral Hug Card Tutorial by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Designer’s Tip: For an easy way to adhere the letters in a straight line, use a ruler. Simply place the ruler on your card to align with the bottom edge of the floral panel and place the letters against the top edge of the ruler.

Floral Hug Card Tutorial by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Now grab a combination of the flowers, leaves, and stamens that match the colors of the top card panel.

Decide the placement and secure the flowers and leaves with Adhesive Dots Medium Ultra Thin for a strong, permanent and flexible bond. There are no glue stains.

Finally, I adhered the stamens underneath the sentiment with Dual Tip Glue Pen.

Your Floral Hug Card is ready to be sent to someone who you would like to hug or someone who really needs that hug.

Wishing you happy crafting and stay safe!

Earth Day Suncatcher

Hi friends! Dana here with you today sharing a fun upcycle tutorial. I hope you are all staying healthy and safe, and are finding some time to be creative while social distancing. One benefit of not being able to make a run to the craft store is that I’m finding ways to incorporate what I already have at home into my art. I’ve become aware of how wasteful I can be and am going to try to be more green in my crafting. Earth Day is next week, so my revelation couldn’t have come at a better time!

Earth Day Suncatcher by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I upcycled the glass insert from the frame that I used for a previous Spring décor project, a segment of a broken necklace chain, and some of my favorite adhesive products to create this colorful Earth Day suncatcher. An everyday kitchen staple and some Double-Sided Tape were perfect materials to apply a faux soldered edge to the glass for a more polished finish.

Earth Day Suncatcher Embellishment

Adhesive Sheets adhere to a variety of surfaces, including glass! The clear permanent adhesive is perfect for this project where embellishments need to be translucent for light to shine through.

Earth Day Suncatcher by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Begin by using a permanent marker to transfer a simple image of the Earth onto a 4×6 Adhesive Sheet. I used an icon from a word processing document for my design.

Next, use scissors to carefully cut away the Adhesive Sheet both inside and outside of the design.

Then, peel away the yellow liner and press the Earth embellishment onto the center of a piece of glass.

Finally, remove the top protective layer from the Earth die-cut and sprinkle on green flocking power. Tap away the excess powder and flip the glass over for the next step.

Adding Color to the Suncatcher

Earth Day Suncatcher by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Apply glass paint to the back of the design and let dry.

Then, attach a length of chain to the glass for hanging. Start by cutting two short pieces of 1/8 inch Extreme Double-Sided Tape. Apply the tape to the top left and top right edges of the glass. Next, remove the red liner and press the chain onto the tape.

Cut pieces of 1/4 inch Double-Sided Tape to fit along the edges of the glass. Then, remove the white tape liners and press the tape around the edges of the glass, also coving the small length of the chain on the top sides of the glass.

To finish, press 1/4 inch strips of aluminum foil onto the double-sided tape.

Earth Day Suncatcher by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Lastly, apply a small 3D Foam Heart onto the Earth. Remove the top white liner and sprinkle on red glitter. Tap of any excess glitter.

Earth Day Suncatcher by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Hang in the sun and enjoy!

Designer Note: This project is not weather-proof. Hang the finished project inside where it can filter the sunlight but is safe from the environment.

I hope I have inspired you to create with recycled materials to celebrate Earth Day! If you don’t have a piece of glass or glass paint on hand, try making this project using a clear plastic food container, permanent markers, and string.

Fun Pom Pom Card Tutorial

Hello crafty friends! Tracy here, and today I have a fun little Pom Pom Card tutorial to share. With all of the uncertainty in the world these days, why not create and actually send some of those cards. Let’s bring back snail mail and put smiles on the faces of our loved ones. Here are all of the details.

Fun Pom Pom Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adding Trim and Paper Layers

First I gathered my supplies for my pom pom card. I choose four colours of the trim, strips of patterned paper that coordinated, a white card panel and Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4in.

Fun Pom Pom Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser, adhere the patterned paper to the white card panel. Then on top of the patterned paper, add a strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4in.

Fun Pom Pom Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place a black pom trim on top of the adhesive tape and add another piece of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4in before adhering to another strip of patterned paper.

Next, add a patterned paper strip to the top edge and then on top add a strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4in.

Fun Pom Pom Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place a white pom trim on top of that adhesive tape. Then keep building the trim and patterned paper layers as shown in images.

Fun Pom Pom Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Once all the layers are added to the pom pom card, very narrow strips of patterned paper were cut. Add these on top of the trim edges with Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8in for a finished look.

Fun Pom Pom Card Tutorial by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Punch a hole on one end of the die cut sentiment and thread a yellow burlap string to tie into a bow. Center the sentiment to the card front with 3D Foam Squares White Small Size. Voila! You have a super cute Pom Pom Card to send!

Textured Flower Sweet Scrapbook Page

Have you ever had an idea in your head that you just had to put onto paper? For today’s layout, that is exactly what happened to me! Late one night, I was thinking about Creative Photo Corners and making a giant flower with them. I started building and before I knew it, I was hours into a stunning layout with major “wow” factor. Christine, joining you today with a Creative Photo Corners Background Layout!

Textured Flower Sweet Scrapbook Page by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

As I created this, I couldn’t help but think what a beautiful home decor piece this would make, if done on wood! But with all the stores closed, that isn’t an option at the moment. So a layout is what I stuck with, for now…

Textured Flower Sweet Scrapbook Page by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creating a Unique Textured Flower

Start off by drawing a 10-inch circle onto my base paper. Then I went around it adding Creative Photo Corners. Just overlapping ever so slightly as needed.

Textured Flower Sweet Scrapbook Page by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

After I completed one circle, I added another. As you can see I overlapped each circle.

Textured Flower Sweet Scrapbook Page by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I will be honest and say that as I added each layer, the circles got less circle like and more off-kilter. BUT in the end, it truly didn’t matter, the Creative Photo Corners Background was very forgiving ;).

Textured Flower Sweet Scrapbook Page by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Having created a very complicated background, the rest of the layout needed to be simple. I added the butterflies using 3D Foam Circles.

The entire thing came together to be super unique, full of texture, and so spring-like! If you’d like to see how the whole thing came together you can check out the process video here:

Stacked Happy Easter Card Tutorial

Hi, friends! Can you believe Easter is next week? Teri here to show you how to make a handmade stacked Happy Easter Card. This card is sure to make the recipient smile!

Stacked Happy Easter Egg Element

Die-cut four Happy Easter Egg shapes from white cardstock. Apply color to one of them with ink or markers. The colored die cut will be stacked on top.

Stack the white egg die cuts on top of each other to make one Happy Easter Egg shape. I find the E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser and E-Z Dots® Petite Permanent Refillable Dispenser are perfect to use for this step, especially with an intricate design like this egg. When the adhesive rolls on the die cut, it sticks to the back and does not leave strings or residue in the open areas.

After you stack the die cuts with the colored one on top, apply tulle (or vellum) behind the egg’s opening. Set the egg aside.

Create the Card Front with Some Glitz

Make a card base from white cardstock. Add a square piece of patterned paper on the card front and then adhere two strips of patterned paper to cover the rest. Apply pieces of Extreme Double-Sided Tape on top where the square and strip of papers meet toward the top and bottom.

Remove the red liner and cover the tape with glitter. Press the glitter into the tape to secure and tap off excess. Now you have a little sparkle to your card. Not a fan of glitter? Use flock or our Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets instead.

Complete your card by centering and lifting the Stacked Happy Easter Egg shape on the card front with a combination of 3D Foam Circles White Mix and 3D Foam Strips. Then add embellish the egg with rhinestones. Place three to five sequins to the background with Adhesive Dots Micro.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and are inspired to make your own Stacked Happy Easter Card for your loved ones and friends.

Happy creating!
