Glitter Frame Card Tutorial

Hello, my crafty friends! Tracy McLennon here, and today I have sparkly, sweet and simple card idea to share, a glitter frame card tutorial.

Glitter Frame Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Glitter Frame Card Instruction

Start your card with the 3D Foam Frames, and a piece of white cardstock cut to size for the front of the card (3.75 x 5-inch). Remove the top liner from the largest of the frames. Attach to the white cardstock.

Glitter Frame Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

To achieve this concept, we are showcasing the 3D Foam Frames as an embellishment instead of hiding between layers. With the largest frame, sprinkle pink glitter on top of the largest frame. Press the glitter into the frame to secure. Tap off excess.

Cut the entire remaining sheet of 3D Foam Frames in two but not quite in the centre. Add the next largest frame to the card, one half at a time, around the pink glitter frame as shown in the image below.

Glitter Frame Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Remove the top liners of the second frame pieces and cover with teal glitter. Press the glitter to secure and tap off excess.

Finally, add the second smallest frame around the teal glitter frame. Add purple glitter using the same steps as the other frames.

For interest, I placed three small 3D Foam Circles White Mix in the bottom left-hand corner of the largest frame and added green glitter.

Final Touches

Stamp and heat emboss “Celebrate” sentiment with black embossing powder on the right side of the white card panel.

Mat the Glitter Frame Card front with yellow cardstock using the E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser and attached it to the white cardstock card base using Crafty Foam Tape White.

Elegant Ivory and Gold Card Tutorial

Hi everyone, Christine here today sharing with you an ivory and gold card, I love this combo, it definitely exudes elegance!  Here’s my tutorial making this project with the fantastic Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® adhesives.

Elegant Ivory and Gold Card Tutorial by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Ivory and Gold Card Step Outs

To start, I  selected an ivory card base, matted gold mirror card, and a patterned card. Secure the layers with MyStik Permanent Strips Dispenser. This dispenser has a unique fold-away design, ideal for traveling to crops and bonus: you can personalize the dispenser too.

Elegant Ivory and Gold Card Tutorial by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

One of my favorite things to do with die cuts is to create a drop shadow with mirror card. This is easily achieved with Adhesive Sheets because they come in a range of sizes.  By placing your chosen card inside and running through a die cutting machine it applies a perfectly thin layer of adhesive.

Elegant Ivory and Gold Card Tutorial by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To achieve a drop shadow effect, affixed to your second die cut slightly off center.

Elegant Ivory and Gold Card Tutorial by Christine Emberson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Tip: cut 3D Foam Squares White Small in half so they fit neatly on the back of your die cuts.

The middle die cut piece will be affixed with Crafty Power Tape. The backing easily pulls away and gives a secure hold on the card front!

Die-cut and assemble a pretty flower and leaf embellishment. Stamp sentiment on an oval die cut and tie a ribbon bow. Secure all with 3D Foam Squares White Small for dimension and interest.

Now you have a finished card ready to be sent!

Foiled Flourish Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here. Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch are great to make gorgeous Foiled Flourish cards. No special foil machine needed. Simply use the Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch with a craft die to Wear your Adhesive on the Outside!

Foiled Flourish Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhesive Sheet Die Cuts for the Foiled Flourish Card

With a nice detailed flourish etched die, die-cut from an Adhesive Sheets 4×6 inch.

Note: make sure the white liner of the Adhesive Sheet is facing up. Place the die on top and die-cut.

Leave the Adhesive Sheet INSIDE the die-template and carefully remove the excess pieces with a needle or tweezers.

Foiled Flourish Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Next, carefully remove the die cut from the etched die.

Creating the Foiled Flourish Layer

Carefully and slowly remove the yellow liner, making sure not to lift the adhesive. Otherwise, your foiled flourish print will not be perfect!

Foiled Flourish Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Gently place the flourish die cut, with the adhesive side facing down, onto a piece of white cardstock. Use your fingers (or a bone folder) to rub gently over the yellow liner to secure the adhesive down.

Foiled Flourish Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Now carefully remove the yellow liner and place a gold sheet of Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Holographic Colors (holographic color facing UP) over the adhesive flourish. Gently rub to adhere and transfer the foil to the adhesive. Remove the foil and you have created your foiled flourish layer!

Making the Card Layers

Adhere a piece of patterned cardstock onto the white cardstock (just above the foiled image) with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

Then adhere a white border die cut to the card front on the edge of the patterned paper. Trim the desired rectangle shape to create your card front.

Foiled Flourish Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To create your second layer, adhere a slightly larger dark salmon cardstock and adhere behind the card front with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

Adhere a piece of salmon satin ribbon to the panel with the ends tucked and adhered to the back. Use the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser to adhere.

Tip: do not use liquid glue to adhere ribbon to avoid glue stains through the ribbon.

Then add to a white card base using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser

Finishing Touches on the Foiled Flourish Card

Place a strip of tiny self-adhesive pearls onto the satin ribbon on the card front. Next, adhere a satin bow on top with Premium Double Sided Tape 1/8in. Lastly, adhere some self-adhesive pearls to the foiled flourishes.

Patriotic Wood Star Tutorial

Hi friends! Dana Tatar here today sharing how to create a piece of patriotic home décor using 3D Foam Stars and Transfer Foil Sheets. This red, white, and blue wood star is a great way to decorate for national holidays or to show your patriotism all year long.

Patriotic Wood Star Tutorial by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

How to Apply Acrylic Paint to Wood for a Rustic Finish

Patriotic Wood Star Tutorial by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To begin, apply red, white, and blue acrylic paint to a wood star using a dry paintbrush. The paint will stick to the raised surfaces of the star, leaving some wood visible for a rustic finish. Let dry.

Patriotic Wood Star Tutorial by Dana Tatar for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Next, spell out a patriotic sentiment with wood tile letters. Then, secure the tiles to the star with Thin 3D Foam Squares.

Patriotic Embellishments Using 3D Foam Shapes

Stick 3D Foam Stars onto the wood star. The various sizes of solid and nested stars in this set makes creating stellar dimensional designs quick and easy.

After the stars are placed onto the wood, peel away the top liner. Then, press a holographic silver Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet onto the stars and gently rub to transfer the foil. Finally, peel away the foil sheet to reveal the sparkly designs.

The summer months cover patriotic holidays in the US such as Memorial Day, Flag Day and 4th of July. These occasions are often celebratory in nature, and I enjoy gathering with friends and family, decorating, sharing a meal, and all the entertainment that goes with it. I know I will be able to display this rustic décor piece several times a year.

Happy Scrapbook Layout: Adhesive Details

Whenever I create a scrapbook layout, I’m looking for a clever twist to add to create my own artistic touch. Today’s layout showcases a clever detail made possible by adhesives.  Adhesive Details are often an easy way to take your layouts up a notch. It’s Christine joining you today with a new ‘Happy’ scrapbook layout – let’s take a look at this one!

Happy Scrapbook Layout: Adhesive Details by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

As I looked at the scalloped patterned paper, I knew that I could easily add my own twist to it with some tedious work with my craft knife!

Adhesive Details Close-ups

Happy Scrapbook Layout: Adhesive Details by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I took my craft knife and cut up random scallops. As you can see from this angle it looks a little messy BUT from a straight-on angle, it looks fantastic. The scallops are further enhanced by 3D Foam Circles tucked carefully underneath! This will also ensure that they don’t get flattened completely when I put it into an album.

Happy Scrapbook Layout: Adhesive Details by Christine Meyer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhesive details also can be found throughout this layout. My journaling piece ‘Happy’ is secured with Adhesive Dots Mini. I used them just in the middle so that the edges pop up.

All the flowers and hearts and butterflies are attached using either 3D Foam Circles or the E-Z Runner Grand with the Permanent Dots Refill. Finally, the “Happy” title is on there using the E-Z Runner Grand with the Permanent Dots Refill as well. This adhesive makes it so easy to add on script words!

Thoughtful Flower Card with 3D Petals

Hello! It’s Judy here today with a tutorial for my “You’re so Thoughtful”  flower card that features dimension. Using Thin 3D Foam Squares and Adhesive Dots Ultra Thin to fasten the flower, the petals are slightly raised while the center of the flower is attached flat to the card.

Thoughtful Flower Card with 3D Petals by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

You’re So Thoughtful Card Base

This card has a 4.5 x 6 inch cream card base, then a cream rectangle mat with inked edges. Next I have a die cut shape that is stamped with script and has inked edges. These layers are assembled with MyStik® Permanent Strips Dispenser. This dispenser can be personalized with photos or papers, like a tiny work of art on your dispenser!

MyStik Adhesive Dispenser on a card tutorial

Stamp the flower on cream cardstock with ink. Then die cut and watercolor the image with water based inks. Shape the petals while the paper is still damp, and allow it to dry.

Now fasten the flower to the card with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix on the back of the petals. On some petals, layer two Thin 3D Foam Squares for more depth. Use  Adhesive Dots Ultra Thin on the back of center of the flower. One strip from MyStik® Permanent Strips Dispenser is on end of the stem.

Stamp the verse on narrow strips of cream cardstock. Fasten each piece with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix cut to fit. It’s so easy to do by cutting through Thin 3D Foam Squares with scissors! That way the unused pieces remain on the liner sheet for another project.

You can see the flower petals are slightly raised and center is flat to make a pretty and dimensional flower card!

Little Princess Card with Burlap

Welcome back, paper crafting friends! It’s Tracy here and today I have a sweet little princess card to share that is NOT short of cuteness and texture. I love playing with texture on all of my paper crafting projects, and that means you have to find the right adhesives for the job.

Princess Card Instructions

First, I gathered the bits and pieces I planned on using on this sweet little princess card. Including that beautiful pink burlap. The problem is burlap is SO often hard to adhere to a project. That’s where Crafty Power Tape comes in.

Little Princess Card and Burlap by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add strips of Crafty Power Tape to the white cardstock card base. Then add the pink burlap, and press down firmly to secure it in place.

Little Princess Card and Burlap by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using Crafty Power Tape again, adhere the teal patterned paper layer to the pink burlap.

Little Princess Card and Burlap by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I wanted the narrowest little strip of patterned paper on the edge of the teal pattern, the E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser was the perfect adhesive to attach it. This adds another subtle layer to my card.

Little Princess Card and Burlap by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I used the E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser again to adhere the polka dot die cut frame to the card. Next, se 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size and Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix to add the princess die cut pieces.

Finally, I simply added a few quick coordinating embellishments to my princess card, the bow clip and a few enamel dots. Then I used glitter glue to add a little extra sparkle here and there.

Happy Mail Mini Bag Album

Happy Mail Greetings!  Shellye McDaniel here today with a sweet happy mail mini bag album to give or keep stuff full of adorable items!

Happy Mail Mini Bag Album by Shellye McDaniel for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Mini Bag Album Basics

To begin, selected two flat bags that measure 5 X 6.25-inch. For the first bag, fold it up from the bottom about 3-inches. Next, make an easel from the second bag; below is a photo of how to make the folds:

After folding, attach it to the bottom back of the second bag as shown above.

Album Decorating Details

Onto the decorating! For the cover, use a journal card embellished with one of the 3D Foam Frames. Sprinkle some micro pony beads and glitter onto the adhesive surface.

Next, attach an additional patterned paper and made it flip up like the cover. The papers and pocket are 3D embellished with stickers and die-cuts using 3D Foam Squares White Mix. You could tuck a gift card along with the tags!

Filling the Mini Bag Album

Finally, fill the opening of the bag with lots of handmade goodies. I included a bag tag created with the Self-Laminating Tags with Loops. To the inside of the tag, I added a trimmed down journal card. I think these would be so cute personalized on the other side with initials or a name.

Lastly, I’m sharing a peek at how the easel on the back works.  The bag has the ability to lie flat or stand up on a tabletop!

Crafty Friend Card with Foil Technique

Hi, friends! Got a crafty friend in your life? Teri here, and I’m going to show you how to make a quick card that is sure to make your favorite stamping sister (or brother) smile!

Crafty Friend Card with Foil Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Make Crafty Friend Card with Foil

Start by creating a standard card from a panel of white cardstock. Then, cut a long rectangle from an Adhesive Sheet 4×6 inch. Tear off the bottom of the rectangle and rub the adhesive to transfer it onto the card.

Crafty Friend Card with Foil Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

This fun technique would be appreciated by your crafty friend – trust me! LOL! First, take a piece of Metallic Transfer Foil (color side UP) and rub it directly onto the adhesive. When burnishing foil, I like to make a fist with my hand and rub the foil over and over again until it completely adheres to the card. Another way to burnish foil? Use bone folder rather than your hand!

Crafty Friend Card with Foil Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adding the Fun Stuff

Now that you’ve added foil to your card, you’re going to do some stamping! Stamp a couple stamps and hearts onto cardstock. Color them in with markers and then cut the images out with your scissors. Mount the images onto your card with Thin 3D Foam Squares. I love using these squares on cards because they give elements a little pop but not too much.

Crafty Friend Card with Foil Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Take a strip of cardstock and stamp a sentiment onto it. Adhere it to the card as well with the Thin 3D Foam Squares. If the sentiment strip is longer than your card, snip off the ends with your scissors.

Complete the card by adding a few sequins to it. You’ll notice on my card that I tried to place sequins on some spots where I didn’t apply foil to the card. Sequins are a great way to hide any mistakes.

Crafty Friend Card with Foil Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

By the way, did you know the Micro Adhesive Dots work well for applying sequins to cards? They are the perfect size for these small embellishments.

Mother’s Day Love Shaker Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here sharing a shaker Love Card I made for Mother’s Day…I know my mum will be very very happy to receive this one! Shaker cards are a lot of fun to make and with 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White, it’s also very easy to make. So, let me show you how I made the card.

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

With shaker cards, I like to work from top to bottom layer. Why? This way I trim the middle layer card to the right size panel after having adhered it to the top (Shaker layer). So I do not need to be very precise adhering these card layers.

Making the Shaker Top Layer

Trim a piece of patterned cardstock to a rectangle shape. Die-cut and emboss a circle towards the top center. This layer will be the shaker window.

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Next, to cover the opening, adhere a piece of acetate to the back of the panel securing with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Create the Shaker Feature

Die-cut with the same circle that was used for the window panel into the 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White three times. Using scissors, hand-cut a bigger circle around the circle openings of the 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White. You will need to do this with all three to create three rings. Remove the liners, stack and adhere all three rings to the back of the acetate window panel.

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Then adhere 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size to the back of the card panel. Make sure to have the same height as the stacked 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White Circles. To achieve this I stacked a combination of 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size and Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add some shaker materials on top of the acetate circle on the back side of the panel. Remove the liner on the 3D Foam Creative Sheets Medium White circle die cuts and all the 3D Foam Squares. Cover the shaker panel with the second piece of white cardstock panel and gently rub to assure secured adhering of the layers. You have finished the shaker part of the card!

The Shaker Card Base Instructions

Turn around the card panel with the shaker side up. Trim the white panel to the right size. Ink the edges of both layers with a grey ink pad and an ink blending tool. Then adhere the layers to a white card base with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser and trim the card base to the right size.

Embellishing the Card

Die-cut a wreath from green cardstock and adhered it to the card using 3D Foam Squares White Regular Size. Note that I cut them into small stripes to tuck behind the die cut.

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using the Dual Tip Glue Pen, glue the flowers, leaves, and stamens onto the wreath.

Mother's Day Love Shaker Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I adhered the metal butterflies to the wreath with the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

Now die-cut the Love sentiment from gold glittered cardstock. Roll the E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser over the back of the Love die cut and adhere to the shaker window.

Glittered Finish

Finally, I made glue stripes onto the card using the Dual Tip Glue Pen and then sprinkled white glitter on top.

Let dry thoroughly and voila…your Shaker Mother’s Day card is finished.

Wishing you happy crafting!
