Thankful Card with Foil

Hello crafty friends! Here it is at the end of August already! For me, that brings thoughts of fall with its beautiful colors, especially leaves. That is my inspiration for this Thankful Card with foil leaves. It’s so easy to add foils to make the 3D Foam Leaves on this card!

Thankful Card with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Make Thankful Band

Thankful Card with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

From black cardstock, die-cut letters for the word “THANKFUL.” Some of the letters are still in dies in this photo. Apply Adhesive Sheets to the back of a 0.75 x 7 inches piece of tan cardstock. I like to cut my strips longer than needed and trim them later.

Thankful Card with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Use E-Z Dots® Repositionable Refillable Dispenser to apply adhesive at each end near the edge of a tan strip. Place a clear ruler along the long edge 0.25 inch from the edge and press it onto the adhesive to hold the ruler in place. Place eight Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix evenly spaced along the ruler edge.

Thankful Card with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Remove liner from one Thin 3D Foam Squares and place die-cut letter on it. Continue to place a letter on each Thin 3D Foam Square to spell “THANKFUL”. Place brown foil sheet from Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors over letters and rub well to transfer foil to Thin 3D Foam Squares. Repeat to cover all squares. Optional: Heat slightly with a heating gun to dull the color slightly.

Trim a tan strip to 6 inches long. Cut black cardstock 1 x 6 inches. Adhere the Thankful band to the black band using E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser to apply adhesive.

Card Base

Cut tan cardstock 8.5 x 6 inches and fold to form a 4.25 x 6 inch card. From black cardstock, cut a 1 x 6 inch strip and from wood grain paper cut a piece 4.125 x 6 inches. Use E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser to secure the black strip along the bottom of the card and then fasten wood grain paper at top of card lapping over the black strip.

Make Foil Leaves

Thankful Card with Foil by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

On a sheet of 3D Foam Leaves, remove the liner from the small leaf and cover with bronze foil from Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors. Rub foil well to transfer to leaf (color side up) and then remove foil. Repeat with brown foil on the oak leaf and copper foil on the maple leaf. Peel each leaf from the carrier sheet and apply foil to the backside. Heat leaves slightly with heat gun and shape while warm. Optional: Draw leaf veins with a black fine marker.

Assemble Card

Apply adhesive to the back of the “THANKFUL” band using E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser and fasten to the card front.

Thread twine through button holes and tie a bow. Apply small Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix to the back, peel the liners and fasten on the card.

Hidden Color Edges on Sentiment

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here! Today, I have a fun card for you that features a surprise element. It is the Hidden Color Edges Card. When you look at the card straight on, the greeting looks normal in black. However, when you tip the card, an orange color edge is revealed. Perfect for a Halloween card!

Hidden Color Edges on Sentiment by Martha Lucia Gomez for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

My creative process started with the card base and the second layer of the card. First, I dry embossed a piece of white smooth cardstock. Then I inked the embossed areas with gray ink, applying the color with a light touch.

Hidden Color Edges on Sentiment by Martha Lucia Gomez for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To adhere the embossed layer to the card base, I used the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser. Set the card for aside to prepare the decoration.

Hidden Color Edges on Sentiment by Martha Lucia Gomez for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Hidden Color Edge

I used one of the Halloween die cuts included in the Fall Sentiments Kit for the greeting. I cut out one black layer and four or five orange layers to stack.

Hidden Color Edges on Sentiment by Martha Lucia Gomez for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

To stack all the die-cut pieces, I used the Dual Tip Glue Pen. This is permanent and dries clear. It is ideal to keep my clean design. Next secure the entire piece over the decorated card base, using the same adhesive, the Dual Tip Glue Pen.

Hidden Color Edges on Sentiment by Martha Lucia Gomez for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

As the final touch for the hidden edge card, I added a little shimmer. Simply run the E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser over the spider and bat. Next, take a tiny piece of bronze foil from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors with the color side up, and rub the foil into the exposed adhesive to transfer the color. Peel away the sheet and WoW! If there are any missed areas, just reapply the foil.

Hidden Color Edges on Sentiment by Martha Lucia Gomez for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

And voila my hidden color edge Halloween card is ready. Love how it turned out!

Happy Birthday Tag Card Tutorial

Hi, everyone! Like to get inky when you make cards? Teri here with a colorful birthday tag card that features a fun ink resist technique you are going to love!

Happy Birthday Tag Card Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The resist technique is easy to pull with any dye ink and E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser!

Decorate the Birthday Tags

Start by randomly applying some lines of adhesive with the E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser to three tags.

Happy Birthday Tag Card Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Using the blending tool, apply ink onto the three tags until you get your desired look.

Happy Birthday Tag Card Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Use your fingers to rub the dots off of the tags. If you are using multiple ink colors, be sure to clean your finger between colors!

Happy Birthday Tag Card Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add a few E-Z Runner® Stars to each tag. Then apply the flock on top of the exposed adhesive for a textured embellishment.

Happy Birthday Tag Card Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add Details to the Card

Adhere a panel of patterned paper onto a card base. Tie strings onto your tags and add them to your card with the E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser.

Stamp a sentiment onto a strip of cardstock and pop it up to one of your tags with 3D Foam Strips.

Happy Birthday Tag Card Tutorial by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Finish It Off

Embellish the card a little more by adding a few pompoms to it. Designer’s Tip: I recommend putting an adhesive dot from the Adhesive Dots Micro first on your card. Then adding the pompom to it, rather than doing it the opposite way.

While I used a rainbow color scheme to do the ink resist on this card, you don’t have to! This technique is a fun one to try with all kinds of color combos. You can even use just one or two different colors!

Quick and Easy Dimensional Smile Card

Hello crafty friends! Tracy here, and today I am sharing a quick and easy Dimensional Smile Card. When I create anything, I love to pack in tons of dimension and depth between layers. Even the most simple card can be packed with dimension. Here are all the nitty gritty details.

Quick and Easy Dimensional Smile Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Creating a Dimensional Smile Card

The first step in creating your dimensional card is to cut your white cardstock A2 base, and the background patterned paper layers. Adhere all of these together using the E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser, and I added Creative Photo Corners White to the top layer for a little bit of texture and dimension. Also, use the E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser to adhere the patterned paper behind the chipboard frame.

Quick and Easy Dimensional Smile Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add the frame to the dimensional card front using Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix. This frame will be the perfect base for the card sentiment.

Quick and Easy Dimensional Smile Card by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhere the sentiment and the embellishments below using a combination of Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix and 3D Foam Squares White Mix for additional depth on your dimensional smile card. I love that we have a choice in height with these two foam squares!

Thanks You Made My Day Card

Hi, Connie here with a fun Summer card using stamps by Hero Arts and our wonderful adhesives.
The card depicts a perfect day at the lake and children having fun. Doesn’t get any better than that :).Create this fabulous card and make someone’s day!

Thanks You Made My Day Card by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Create the You Made My Day Background

Looks like the thing to do to beat the heat!!! To create the card I used PanPastels for the color. Using PanPastels for the grass, water, and sunset is really easy to create. Just section the card front in three sections and apply the colors. Inks will work too.

Thanks You Made My Day Card by Connie Mercer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Assemble the Card Front

Stamps, PanPastels and a circle stencil that work s great to create a sunset, that is what you will need to begin the card. To complete the card front, stamp the images in black ink. I used a stamp platform so I could re-stamp to get good coverage of ink on the stamped image.

Paint on You Made My Day Card Front

Speckle with white acrylic paint. I use an old paint brush with water and paint to get the speckled effect.

Foiled Bird Birthday Card

Hi everyone, Yvonne here with a Foiled Bird Birthday card. The E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser is a great tool for making gorgeous foiled accents on your project. This technique is known as Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside. It is bringing the adhesive out from the layers of cardstock up front to create custom embellishments!

Foiled Bird Birthday Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® has a wide variety of Metallic Transfer Foil colors to match any project and theme. I would love to show you how I made my card. Shall we get crafty?

Create Your Background

Start by trimming a piece of white cardstock to a rectangular size. This will be your top card panel. Then run the E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser over the cardstock and create three waving vertical lines.

Foiled Bird Birthday Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

Next, I take a piece of the bronze foil in the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Nature Colors and dab the foil onto the adhesive dot lines. Make sure that the foil color is facing UP. Rub the foil to transfer the color to the adhesive and gently peel off the foil. Reapply the foil in missed spots. Now you have done the Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside technique!

Layer Another Texture

For more interest, take a stencil and crackle texture paste. Put the stencil on the top card panel and hold the stencil in place. With a spatula, gently apply the texture paste over the stencil to get the desired look and remove the stencil to reveal your design. Dry thoroughly or use a heating tool to dry.

Embellish the Card Panel

Die-cut a branch shape from kraft cardstock and adhere it horizontally onto the card panel using the Dual Tip Glue Pen.

Fussy-cut the birds, leaves, and berries from a piece of patterned paper. Adhere all the elements onto the card panel with the Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Place a stentiment sticker on a pink strip of cardstock and adhere on the card panel using Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Make the Card Base

Let’s layer the card panel onto a slightly larger pink panel with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. Then adhere it to a white card base again using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. Voilá, your Foiled Bird Birthday Card is ready!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and wish you happy crafting!

Fall Foilage Thinking of You Card

Hi, Jamie Martin here with you today with a card full of sparkle and shimmer for Fall. With a combination of adhesives sheets, Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets, and glitter, you too can create this wonderful Fall Foilage card!

Fall Foilage Thinking of You Card by Jamie Martin for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Start with the Fall Foilage Card Front

Using some wired burlap ribbon, cut off a piece to fit the card panel, and then trim off the wires on each side. Apply a strip of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1″ on the back, and secure it to the tan card panel. Designer’s Tip: to give the panel some interest, I stamped it with a dot background stamp in brown ink.

Fall Foilage Thinking of You Card by Jamie Martin for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

You aren’t able to see the adhesive through the burlap.

Fall Foilage Thinking of You Card by Jamie Martin for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Gather Up the Leaves

Place an Adhesive Sheet 4″ x 6″ on white cardstock keeping the top liner of the Adhesive Sheet on.  Pull up the liner a bit and place black leaf stickers on the Adhesive Sheet cut off that section and replace the liner so you can use the rest later.

Fall Foilage Thinking of You Card by Jamie Martin for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside

Making the Fall Foilage leaves was so much fun! Several techniques were used to embellish them. I used a combination of foil sheets from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet in Nature Colors and the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheet in Pastel Colors, along with glitter.

Some of the leaves were foiled by rubbing the foil color side UP with your fingertips to transfer the color to the leaf. If there are missed areas, just reapply the foil.

Another technique is to crumble up a piece of foil, rub the foil color side UP and peel off the sheet to reveal distress or vein designs. Next, cover the leaf with crystal glitter and press with your fingertips to secure it into the exposed adhesive.

Other leaves had only glitter to embellish them. Mount all the embellished fall foilage leaves onto the burlap ribbon using E-Z Runner® Squares.

Fall Foilage Thinking of You Card by Jamie Martin for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Add the Finishing Touches

Stamp the sentiment on the bottom of the card with black ink. Add thin black glitter washi tape on the top and bottom of the burlap to anchor. Lastly, mount the panel to a black card using the E-Z Runner Squares.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card

Hello crafty friends! Judy here pulling out some security envelopes that I save from my mail for today’s Funky Flower card. Do you save security envelopes? There are so many different designs! I started this mail art card while away from home with limited supplies, two window security envelopes, and paint markers.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Create Funky Flowers and Vase

Draw three flowers on a security envelope with blue, pink, dark blue, and white paint markers. Use blue and dark blue paint markers to make lines around the window on the security envelope. Allow the paint to dry. Cut around the window leaving about a 0.25-inch border. I was inspired by a technique for making vases with window security envelopes from a post on Instagram.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Apply Adhesive Sheets to the Flowers

Rough cut flowers from the envelope leaving some of the paper all around them. Peel back the yellow liner of the Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch and place one or two flowers on it. Replace the liner and rub over flowers to transfer adhesive, remove the liner, peel off a flower, place it on white cardstock and rub well to secure it. Repeat for other flowers. Fussy cut around each flower. Set aside.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Assemble the Card Base

Form a 3.5 x 8.5-inch slimline card base from white cardstock. Then cut a 2.875 x 7.875-inch piece from the security envelope. and from a piece of dark blue cardstock, cut a 4 x 8-inch mat.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Attach the security envelope piece to the dark blue mat using E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser. Then apply the adhesive on the back of the layered card panel and place it on the card front.

Lift Up the Vase

Cut off the short end of the window to about 3 inches to form a vase shape.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

On the back of the vase, apply 3D Foam Strips around its edges trimming off as needed. Peel the liners off and place the vase on the card front

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Attach the Funky Flowers

Apply Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix to the blue flower and 3D Foam Squares White Mix to the back of other flowers. Arrange them on the card with stems in the vase, then tip back to peel the liners off, and press in place on the card.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The Verse

Stamp a verse with black ink and use a coordinating die to cut a verse strip. Trim off notched ends. Cut a slightly larger mat from dark blue cardstock. Use E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser to apply adhesive to the back of the verse and fasten it to a dark blue mat.

Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Mail Art Funky Flowers Card by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Apply small pieces of 3D Foam Strips at each end of the verse strip and apply adhesive at the center with E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser. Peel liners off from foam strips and attach the verse across vase on the card.
